and achieve the highest levels of proficiency; but use low levels of water, energy and detergents. In 1999 our env-
ironmental work had advanced so far that we received environmental certification in accordance with ISO 14001.
All components in our appliances that weigh more than 50 grams are labelled for recycling.

ASKO cares for
the environment.
It all began in 1950, when the Swedish farmer Karl Erik Andersson received his first order for a washing machine
from his mother. He managed to produce a revolutionary model, and the word spread. Eventually Karl Erik built
a small factory on the farm and started making washing machines full time. A few years later he also started to
produce dishwashers and tumble dryers.Today ASKO has about 1,000 employees at production plants in Sweden
and Finland, and we have customers all over the world, who place high demands on design, function and care for
the environment.
Most people want to make a contribution to spare our environment, but many of us don’t know how. Taking
shorter showers, recycling waste water, walking instead of driving – lots of little things add up.They all help, but it’s
still not enough. We need to be much kinder to our environment and adopt smarter methods.
Having water, energy and detergent consumption in mind when choosing appliances is a good way to start.
That’s why we are proud to say that commitment to the environment has traditionally been an important par t
of ASKO’s ethos, perhaps because the factories have always had nature on their doorstep. Our dishwashers, for
example, have a very low energy and detergent consumption, and with a water consumption of 13,6 litres on

In recent years, kitchens and bathrooms have been very much in focus. But now our attention is
turning to the laundry. A place where we spend a lot of time, but often a place that lacks func-

ASKO Laundry Care concept is a new range of washing machines and tumble dryers that

The interior is the exact opposite of the clean, simple
design of the exterior. It contains all the advanced

never compromise when it comes to our choice of
materials and details. For example, we use stainless
steel wherever possible.This is one reason why all

Thanks to SmartSeal™, it’s easy to recognise an
ASKO washing machine. ASKO is the only produ-
cer to make its washing machines without rubber
bellows. The SmartSeal™ construction means the
door seals directly to the drum. The first thing to
wear out on an ordinary washing machine is the
rubber bellows, which can be the cause of many
flooded f loors and extra service costs. That’s why
ASKO build washing machines for both domestic
and professional use: without rubber bellows!

Optimal mechanical action.
The efficiency of the mecha-
nical process depends on the
drum size in order to produce
a good wash result. ASKO
washing machines achieve this
thanks to their large drum, unique high-
lift ribs with shower feature, and perfect
speed control.
Our washing machines have
a second life. You can return
your ASKO washing machine
to the recycler at the end of
its useful life with a clear con-
science. Each detail over 50
grams, whether made of steel, plastic or
rubber, is marked for recycling and could
reappear in another guise.

SensiSave™ gauges the size of
the wash so the machine only
uses as much water, energy and
time as necessary – without compromising
with the result!
Quattro™ is ASKO’s own
extremely durable standing con-
struction. Unlike most washing
machines that are suspended
inside the outer casing, the
outer drum rests on four supporting spring
legs firmly attached to a steel bottom plate.
The entire construction stands inside the
outer metal casing, so the vibrations stay
inside the machine and spinning at even
1600 rpm can be done with minimum
vibration.

A high water level improves
the rinse result, and helps to
improve the gentleness of the
wash action. The machine takes
in 2 extra litres of water for
the main wash and every rinse.

AquaBlockSystem™. Water
damage is something nobody
wants.
To assure you that the machi-
ne will not leak, we’ve developed
the AquaBlockSystem™, an
advanced water safety system that detects if
the water level in the machine rises above a
normal level.
The system comprises up to 7 different
points, all of which help ensure a leak-safe
washing machine for many years of problem-
free operation.
Balance Control. ASKO’s
balance control checks that
the laundry is evenly distri-
buted in the drum. An even
distribution not only lowers
noise while spinning, it also
reduces the mechanical burden on the
machine which in turn extends its life span.
Balance control gauges and calculates the
balance of the laundry, to decide whether
the machine should spin or redistribute
the load. If it is not properly balanced,
the machine attempts to redistribute the
laundry up to 10 times on the selected
spin speed. If it still won’t spin, it will try
up to five times more on a lower spin
speed. In the event of extreme imbalance
the machine will not spin at all so as not to
overload it.
Child Safety. ASKO’s KidSafe™
system protects the wash with
the following solutions:
- once the machine is activated
all controls are locked.
- optional block of the star t
- and /or menu buttons
- 3 sec delay of the stop-button
It assists you when loading
and unloading the machine. In
addition it lowers the noise
level of the washing machine.
Environmental certification.
ASKO has environmental cer-
tification in accordance with
ISO 14001. This is an environ-
mental accreditation, which
ASKO adheres to during the
manufacturing process.
Variable temperature sett-
ings. The temperature can be
set from cold to 95°C (cold =
inlet water temp). This gives
unlimited flexibility with all
kinds of fabrics, for instance
Gore-Tex or other synthetic materials.
Asko’s hand and wool wash
save you from having to hand
wash ever again. These pro-
grams has been proven in tests
to be gentler than any person
could ever be.
Induction motor. It provides a
more effective balance control
during the spin cycle reducing
the likelihood of the machine
going out of balance. Secondly,
an induction motor is quieter in operation
than a brush motor and following the Asko
quality policy with less moving parts, this
induction motor will improve the life-span of
your washer.

A tumble
dryer
without
compromises.
A good tumble dryer should have
the capacity to cope with a large
amount of laundry with high air
flow. Because only then can the
optimal result be achieved.This is
not something you have to worry
about, as our designers have already used these factors as the basis when
making our tumble dryers. Our tumble dryers also have a unique butterfly
drying system that’s particularly gentle on your clothes, and even saves the
need to iron many of the garments.The result is a tumble dryer that lasts
for many years, just like the clothes you wash and dry. So take a closer
look at our machines to see how they can make your life a little easier. Durable
The most relevant feature to the durability of the
machine, apart from materials and construction, is the
motor. If you want to minimize strain on the motor,
you’ll need a non-stop dryer, which Asko’s tumble
dryers have. As reversing dryers wear the motor out
more quickly.
Dry without creasing
Many sensitive materials can only be tumble dried
if you make sure they don’t tumble for too long or
at too high a temperature. A tumble dryer is very
much like an iron on synthetic fabrics: a synthetic
garment that’s tumble dried at the ideal temperature
until “dry” and then taken out immediately, doesn’t
need ironing! It’s important to be able to lower the
temperature, and also that the machine has sensitive
sensors that accurately gauge moisture and tempe-
rature.
Prevents shrinkage and creasing.
Sensidry™ is a unique system developed by ASKO.
Interaction between temperature sensors makes
the drying result more even and more reliable
than that of a conventional type sensor. Thereby
SensiDry™ eliminates the clothes risk of over-
drying, shrinking and creasing.

airflow through the garments,
thus reducing time required to dry and
also aiding in preventing creasing.
Airing program. A per fect
program if you want to fres-
hen up clothes. For how long
is up to you.
Butterfly Drying™. is ASKO’s
own innovation prolong the
lifespan of the motor as well as
your ironing board. ASKO dry-
ers tumble non-stop. Unique
paddles inside the drum tumb-
le the clothes in a figure eight to prevent
the clothes from bundling – to minimise
creasing ,and reduce strain on the motor..
Audible end signal. All ASKO
dryers are delivered with an
audible end signal. As soon as
the program is completed it
emits a sound to tell you.
Child Safety. Program in
a delay on the start button
(easy to remove once the kids
are old enough). To guarantee
safety for the very youngest
and most curious, the door
can be opened from the inside and the
dryer has to be re-started if the door has
been opened during drying.
Cleanable fan. Even though the
double lint filter collects most
of the lint, some of it is bound
to end up in the fan. Should
this happen you would normally
have to call a ser vice engineer
to have the lint removed. Thanks to ASKO’s
unique cleanable fan you can easily do it
yourself, saving the need for a service call.
Delayed start. A perfect
solution if you want to take
advantage of off peak electri-
city rates, or if you want the
clothing fresh and warm when
you return from work.
Double lint filter. Lint hin-
ders the air circulation inside
the tumble dryer. Air circula-
tion is absolutely crucial to
efficiency and therefore to
energy consumption and dura-
bility. This is why ASKO tumble dryers are
fitted with a particularly efficient double
lint filter, which prevents lint from gathe-
ring in the machine and thereby increases
its lifetime.
Easy to clean. The integrated
condenser is placed at the
bottom of the ASKO dryer.
To access, remove the lower
section of the front panel and
fold down the condenser cover. Pull out the
condenser and spray the fins with warm
water until the lint is removed.
Normal/Low temperature.
Normal temperature is nor-
mally used to minimize the
drying time. But by using low
temperature it’s possible to
tumble dry sensitive fabrics
such as nylons, acrylics, rayons and aceta-
tes. Low temperature decreases the tem-
perature with approx. 10°C.

With a drying cabinet you can dry all kinds of
laundry:
- Sportswear and sports shoes/boots
- Ski clothing
- Overalls and boots
- Wet weather clothing
- Shirts and blouses for drip-drying
- Delicate garments
Not all
washing can
be tumble
dried. Not all
clothes need
washing.
A conventional tumble dryer
cannot dry all type of garments
as many are labelled ”Don’t tumble dry”. Hanging your clothes outdoor
might expose them to direct sunlight which may damage them.
The new ASKO Drying Cabinet will solve your problem.The ASKO
Drying cabinet is the only domestic one on the market today. It dries
everything from overalls, boots, shoes, coats and damp sports gear to
delicate silk and linen garments in less than two hours.
The DC7171 is more spacious than it looks with the equivalent of 16
metres of clothes line and a special rack on the inside of the door for
hats, gloves or wet swim wear.

Energy-efficient
With 1500 W of power, our cabinet will dry your
clothes quickly with the lowest possible energy
consumption.
Bar for hangers
A bar between the foldable pull-out hangers
prevent hangers from sliding or twisting.
Wet hats and gloves.
There is a rack on the inside of the
door for hats and gloves.

Drying cabinet feature glossary
Dry quickly. By having a high
air flow matched by warm air,
the drying cabinet is able to dry
extremely efficiently. Compared
to a conventional dryer the
process can be extremely quick.
Dry with care. Drip-dry a silk shirt or
dry your woollen jumper on a flat surface.
Check the labels on your clothes and
you’ll see that many garments and materi-
als need particularly careful treatment.
Silk, velvet and satin, for example, need
to be handled with the care of a drying
cabinet.
Dry a large load. Our dry-
ing cabinets have three rows
of folding pull-out hangers,
corresponding to a total of
16 metres of clothesline. This
removes any need to hang
your washing on a clothes line or in the
laundry.
Wet hats and gloves. There
is a rack on the inside of the
door for hats and gloves.
Dry shoes. Sometimes the
rain can catch you by surprise,
or the football pitch or jog-
ging track has turned into
a mudbath. Place your wet
shoes on the shoe-rack and
they’ll soon be dry again.
Quiet.We asked our devel-
opment department to create
the quietest possible drying
cabinet.They responded with
a model that has a noise level
of just 58 dB(A).
Flexible interior In our drying
cabinets you can modify the
set-up as you wish, and hang
everything from ten shir ts to
long coats, heavy, soiled firefigh-
ting equipment or row after
row of white silk bed sheets.

Our dishwashers consist of insulation,

Sound-absorbing insulation accounts for one-third of
the weight of our dishwashers. It comprises a highly

Water efficiency
To ensure a clean washing result a lot of water
normally has to circulate in the dishwasher. Despite
this we manage to keep the water consumption to
a minimum, down to 13.6 litres a wash on certain
models. Asko has developed one of the best water

ferent shapes and sizes. In an Asko
dishwasher the cup rack is slightly
wider than in other machines, 33
mm wider that our standard cup
rack to be, as well as being height
adjustable.
Now there’s room for glasses and
plates in the top basket. The upper
basket has a clearance of 23 centi-
metres.That leaves plenty of space
for champagne flutes, tall latte glasses
and 23 cm dinner plates.

The new standard height is 90 cm or
even more in some cases, so we have

where do you store those tall wine glasses?
You can now store your tall wine glass either
standing up as in the image, or lying down on
an angle if it’s a really tall glass.The perfect

For champagne glasses. When you have many
guests and there isn’t room for all your glasses
in the upper basket, the new wine glass holder

Holder for small spoons and knives.
The small compartment with a lid holds

A deeper knife rack. At the very top we
have placed a knife rack. In our 86 cm
dishwashers a deeper rack that can hold not
only knives, but also whisks and ladles, can
be fitted. It is well shielded from inquisitive
children´s hands. Like our other models,
this shelf has a separate spraying system

Knife stop and stand. There´s
also room for knives in the

stand. A knife stop keeps the

wash is an efficient solution that
washes slightly soiled loads in only
20 minutes (30 C, no drying).
Now you are guaranteed
the right water level. Our
sensors work together intel-
ligently to ensure an optimum
water level in the machine.
The sensors detect when the
quantity of water exactly matches the pro-
gram you have selected, and it always lets
in the right amount of water regardless of
the water pressure in your pipes. Also, the
sensors monitor the entire wash process
and remedy any shortcomings during the
program. If, for example, you wash a large
plastic bowl which gets turned over and fills
up with water, reducing the amount of effec-
tive water in the dishwasher, the machine
immediately adds new water to ensure the
full cleaning result.The sensors also make
sure that the dishwasher does not start if
you happen to forget to turn the water on.

which ensures that the water

by too dramatic temperature fluctuations.
We added a buzzer so you
can hear when the machine's
finished. The dishwasher hardly

Tired of cleaning the filter?
Relax. With ASKO’s new
dishwashers you only have to
clean the filter around 2 times
a year as both the strainer and
filter are self cleaning. Electro-
polished strainers and continuous airing
and spraying, combined with the patented
ASKO Super Cleaning System, keep the
strainer and filter clean.The primary strainer
gathers up any large pieces of excess food
and other dirt so it is clearly visible, and it is
quick and easy to empty.
Turbo drying. ASKO’s fan dry
dries the dishes using an ingeni-
ous fan system. After the final
rinse, the moist air in the dish-
washer is mixed with dry air
from outside, and the machine
dries completely dry. ASKO’s fully integrated
machines also have this drying system, which
is quite uncommon on the market.
Two-hand childlock on door.
You have to hold in the childlock
at the same time as opening
the door with the handle.This
necessary two-hand maneuver
is not something children can manage, so
the dishwasher’s like a locked door to them

childlock is easy for an adult to activate and
