Quick Installation Guide
Overview
The AS-U2.5G2 is a USB Type-C Ethernet adapter designed for
Ultrabooks™ , mobile devices and devices supporting USB Type-C.
Take advantage of up to 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet on almost any computer
supporting a standard USB Type-C port. The AS-U2.5G2 also supports
10/100/1000 networks and the built in LEDs signal the connection
speed. The AS-U2.5G2 can also be used connect to the Internet, is
portable, plugs and plays easily and is bus-powered, making the AS -
U2.5G2 a great companion to devices that are not easily upgradeable.

First-time setup
The AS-U2.5G2 supports ASUSTOR ADM 3.5.1 and up, Windows XP and
up, macOS 10.6 and up, Linux kernel 2.6 and above. ADM, Windows and
macOS have the driver built in and will automatically install the device when
plugged in for the first time. Various Linux distributions may or may not
include the driver, manual installation of the driver may be required. DHCP
(
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is the default setting for the driver and
is compatible with most networks. Other settings can also be manually
changed.
Troubleshooting
Issue 1: No network connection.
A: Please check the device as follows below:
1. Ensure all cable connections are securely fastened and connected to
the correct ports.
2.
Ensure that the left and right LEDs are lit when connected to a network.
Unlit LEDs may indicate network issues.
3. Ensure the USB Ethernet adapter has received the correct IP address
from your network. If not in DHCP mode, contact your network
administrator for proper IP settings
Troubleshooting
Issue 2. No internet connection.
A: Please check the device as follows below:
1.
Ensure that both LEDs are lit when connected to a network. Unlit LEDs
may indicate network issues.
2. Verify that the network adapter has received the proper IP address.
3. Ensure DNS settings are correct.
FAQ
Q1. Does it matter which way I insert the AS-U2.5G2 into the USB port?
A: No. The adapter uses USB-C, which is reversible. USB-C no longer
requires three attempts to plug in.
Q2. What if I only have traditional USB Type-A ports?
A: A USB Type-C to Type-A adapter is provided inside the box. Simply
connect the adapter to the AS-U2.5G2 for use on USB Type-A ports.
