1Introduction
ATC-1000WFwireless serialdevice serversgiveyouaneasywaytoconnectyourRS-232/485/422 serialdevice
toWLAN.
TheRS232 connectionapplicationhasbeenusedforalongtime.RS232 cablehaslimitationsindistance. WLAN
hasbecomeaworldwidestandardprotocolforwireless application.TherearemanyapplicationforusingRS232
connectionoverWLAN,includePOS,datacapture,telemetry,PLCcontrollers,remotecontrol,vending
machine,industrialcontrol,andothers.Thedevice thatsupportsconnectionoverWLANiscalledaswireless to
SerialServer.
ATC-1000WFwireless serialdevice serverssupportautomaticIPconfigurationprotocolsand manual
configurationviaahandyweb browserconsole.Anexternalantennaincreasestherangeofthewireless
connection.Userscanpositiontheadjustableantennaformaximumsignalstrengthorevenreplacetheantenna
withtheirownforadditionalflexibilityand scalability.Thisfeatureisparticularlyusefulwhenaserialdeviceis
connectedinahighinterference area.Asanaddedfeature,asignalstrengthindicatorislocatedonthefrontpanel
tomakeit easiertotroubleshootconnectionproblems.
ATC-1000WFwireless serialdevice serversensurethecompatibilityofnetworksoftwarethatusesastandard
networkAPIbyproviding TCPServerMode, TCPClientMode, andUDPMode. TheRealCOM/TTYdrivers
allowsoftwarethatworkswithCOM/TTYportstobesetuptoworkoveraTCP/IPnetworkinnotime.This
excellentfeaturepreservesyoursoftwareinvestmentandletsyouenjoythebenefitsofnetworkingyourserial
devicesinstantly.
Tomakeyourmanagementtaskeasier, theATC-1000WFprovidesadditionalfeatures, suchaspassword
authentication, IPfilter, WEPsupportfor64-bit and 128-bit encryption, andSNMPsupport.

3Configuration
Beforeconfiguration,weshouldconnecttheATC-1000WFtoaPCwithaRS-232 cableasfollowing.
3.1ConfigurationIntroduction
ForATC-1000WFyoucanconfigureviawebpageorsend command by Tera-Term.
3.2 ConfigureviaTera-Term
Default parametersofserialportare:115200bps, 8bits, noparity, 1 stopbit,noflowcontrol.
Firstly,configure Tera-Term withthedefault parameters,likefollowingpicture.
Run Tera-Term on thePC,andthenenter “+++”.Theinterface likefollowing will appear.

Theninput “help”,theall commandwill printinthewindow.Likebelow.

RuntheInternetExplorer,typetheIPaddress intotheaddress bar,likefollowing.
Whenentertothisaddress,thefollowing pagewill appear.
Default UserName: admin, Default UserName: admin.

Thedevice serversupportstheDHCPserverservice andusercansetupthesettingsofDHCPserverand

Onthispage, theAccessibleIPSettingmustbeusedwithcare. UsershouldentercorrectaccessibleIPaddress(s)
beforeenablingthisfunction. Thenewconfigurationwilltakeeffectafterthedevice serverreboots.
