1. Safety precautions
* General details
1) When providing service, pay attention to the basic wiring and if you see a short circuit, you must replace
all parts overheated or damaged by the short circuit.
2) After the service, check if the all elements for protection with insulation layer, insulation paper and shield
R-C composite element are well assembled.
3) When not watching the TV for a long period of time, unplug the power cord.
4) Because the high voltage goes through the power (SMPS) when the TV is operating, it is dangerous from
electric shock to operate the TV with the back cover open. Repairing must only be done by a repair
technician who has adequate knowledge about the high voltage.
5) After completing the service, the repair technician must inspect the following electric current leakage to
protect the user from electric shock.
6) Always check if all the internal protection devices are installed. If there is a protection plate, directly
install it.
7) After completely assembling the set, plug the AC line cord to the power outlet. Set the power switch to on
and then turn it off. Measure the current between the earth (GND) and antenna, metal parts, projected
metal parts such as screw heads. The measured current should not exceed 3.5mA.

8) Never change the design or add to the design of the device or electric circuit for this set. If you add to
the design, it can cause danger to the safety. Also if you change the design or add to the design, the
manufacturer’s warranty would be ineffective.
9) If the parts, material or the wiring seem to be overheated or damaged, immediately replace the parts in
accordance with the original specification. Always understand the root cause of the overheating or
damage and correct the danger factors if possible.
10) Some electric circuit parts and device parts have special safety related characteristics that cannot be
judged with the eye. If you replace the parts with a different part with higher voltage, wattage etc, it will
lose the safety characteristics and protection function. Therefore you must use the same part as the one
installed as much as possible.
11) After the repair, always check if the screw, part and wiring are correctly installed. Check if the adjacent
area of the repaired part is damaged.
12) There are some semiconductor devices that can be easily damaged by electricity. When handling these
parts, use the static electricity detection device (ESD) to remove the electrode in the human body.
* Electric current leakage test (Cold Check)
1) Unplug the AC power and connect the ends of the plug with a wire.
2) Turn on the power switch.
3) Connect one end of the insulation tester on one of the leads and connect the other lead to an exposed
metallic part such as antenna, screw, variable adjustor axis etc. for measurement. The resistance value of
the exposed metal part that is connected to the chassis or not connected to the chassis must be infinite
(∞).
* Electric current leakage test (Hot Check)
1) Directly plug the power to the power outlet.
(At this time, do not use the insulation transformer during the test.)
2) Connect one side of the 1.0KΩ, 10W resistance to the exposed metal part of the TV and earth the other
side(location where it is easy to earth such as water pipe etc.) (Refer to the fig.)
3) Measure the voltage of both ends by using the AC voltage meter (1000Ω volt to higher sensitivity).
4) Measure the voltage of each exposed part of the TV.
5) Switch and plug the power plug (opposite electrode) and repeat the measurement.

6) The voltage should not exceed 0.75V in any location and the current leakage must not exceed 0.75mA.
* service precautions
1) When inserting the part or circuit board, you must keep the lead wire fixed to the end before soldering.
2) When inserting the high power resistance, leave about 10mm clearance from the board (metal oxidation
coated resistance or metal coated resistance).
3) Parts with high voltage or high temperature must be kept far from the lead wire.
4) For this chassis, use the cold chassis or insulation transformer for the safety. When repairing the power part,
always use the insulation transformer.
5) When operating the TV, do not connect or remove the wire.
6) Marked parts are important parts to maintain the safety of the part. Therefore, when exchanging the part,
always use the designated part.

2. Product Specification.
* Scope
This specification applies to all LCD TV models with VCB4430 chassis.
* Operating condition
1) Surrounding temperature: 25℃ ± 2℃
2) Relative humidity: 65% ± 10%
3) Power voltage (AC 110 – 240V, 50/60Hz)
