Thedetectorisintendedformonitoringopenareas.Anysolidobject(suchasatreeorabush)inthecoverageareawillcreatea
blindspot(radarshadow)behindit.
Installthedetectoronapole,oronaspotonawallwheretherearenootherobjectsorinstallationsclosetoit.
Tobeabletocorrectlyidentifymovementinthecoveragearea,thedetectorneedstobeinstalledonastablemount.Donot
installthedetectoronaswayingpole.
Iftworadardetectorsofaremountedclosetogethertheymayinterferewitheachother.Toavoidinterferenceyoucanselect
differentchannelsforthedetectors.Toconguredifferentchannels,seeHowtoinstallmultipledetectorsonpage9.
Toavoidinterferencebetweenradardetectorsthataremountedsidebyside,thedistancebetweentheunits
shouldbeatleast2.5meters.Iftwodetectorsaresidebysidebutangledawayfromeachother,forinstance
whenmountedonapole,thentheremightnotbeanyinterferenceeveniftheyarecloserthan2.5metersfrom

Important
Axisdevicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoverthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeviceaftertherstlogin,set
upasecureandencryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchangethepassword.
Thedevicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforyourdataandservices.Axisdevicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyasthey
maybeusedinvarioustypesofinstallations.
Toprotectyourdatawestronglyrecommendthatyou:
•Useapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordgenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
•hangethepasswordatarecurringinterval,atleastonceayear.

Congurethedetector
Thedetectorisreadytouseassoonasitisinstalled.Thedefaultliveviewwillshowtheradarcoverageandanydetectedmovement,
andyoucanadddetectionzonesandrulesrightaway.
Tomakeiteasiertoseewhereobjectsaremoving,youcanuploadareferencemap,forexampleagroundplanoranaerialphoto,
thatshowstheareacoveredbytheradardetector.

Imagerequirements:
•Supportedleformatsarejpegandpng.
•Useanimagewiththesameproportions(16:9)orresolution(1920x1080)astheliveview.Iftheimageissmalleritwillbe
scaledtotthewindow.Iftheproportionsarewrong,theimagewillnotlltheentirevideostream.
•roptheimagetotthecoverageoftheradarascloselyaspossiblebeforeuploadingit.
•Theorientationisnotimportant,sincetheradarcoverageshapewillbemovedtoadapttotheimageduringcalibration.
Afteruploadingthereferencemapyouneedtocalibratetheradarsothattheactualradarcoveragetstheposition,directionand
scaleofthereferencemap.
Therearetwomethodsforcalibratingthereferencemap:
•Calibrationusingpins:Thecalibrationisperformedinthewebinterfacebydroppingpinsinknowlocationsinthe
referencemapandsettingthedistancebetweenthepins.
Whencalibratingusingpins,youneedtoselectthemountingpositionoftheradarmoduleinsidethedetector.
•Calibrationusingtracks:Thecalibrationmethodrequiresapersontomoveinfrontoftheradar.
Youcandothisyourselfwhileaccessingthewebinterfacefromamobiledevice,orhavesomeoneelsemoveand
followyourinstructions.
Whenmovingaroundinthedifferentsteps,movetoplacesthatareeasytondinthereferencemap.
Howtocongurethedetector
1.Touploadareferencemap,gotoSettings>Radar>Reerencemap.SelectBrowsetondanimagele,andselect
Uploadtoplacetheimageintheliveview.
2.Tocalibratethereferencemap,gotoSettings>Radar>Reerencemapcalibration.SelectStartcalibrationand
followtheinstructions.
Howtoinstallmultipledetectors
Iftworadardetectorsofaremountedclosetogethertheymayinterferewitheachother.Toavoidproblems,selectdifferent
channelsforthedetectors.
1.GotoSettings>Radar>GeneralandselectChannel.
Rulesandalerts
Youcancreaterulestomakeyourdeviceperformanactionwhencertaineventsoccur.Aruleconsistsofconditionsandactions.
Theconditionscanbeusedtotriggertheactions.Forexample,thedevicecanstartarecordingorsendanemailwhenitdetects
motion,orshowanoverlaytextwhenitrecords.
