Metra recommends disconnecting the negative battery terminal before beginning any
installation. All accessories, switches, and especially air bag indicator lights must be plugged
in before reconnecting the battery or cycling the ignition.

withtheBrownandBrown/Whitewiresintothemale3.5mmconnectorofthe
ASWCharness.
*For Kenwood/JVC radios:
ConnecttheKenwood/JVCSWCwire(normallyBlue/Yellow)totheBrownwire
oftheASWC.IsolateandtapetheBrown/Whitewire,itwillnotbeused.
*For Eclipse radios:
ConnecttheEclipseSWCwires(NormallyBrownandBrown/Black)tothe
BrownandBrown/WhitewiresoftheASWC.BrowngoestoBrownand
Brown/WhitegoestoBrown/Black.
Forallotherradios,pluginthemale3.5mmconnectoroftheASWCintothe
backoftheaftermarketradio,designatedforanexternalSWCcontrolinterface.

1. Withalltheconnectionscompleted,plugthe16-and10-pinharnesses
intotheHYKIA-01.
2. Plugthe24-and18-pinharnessintothevehiclesideharness,andplugthe
aftermarketradioharnessintotheaftermarketradio.
3. Reconnectthenegativebatteryterminal.
4. Cyclethekeybyturningtheignitiononfor30-seconds,thenbackoff,then
backonagaintotesttheradio.
Testing and adjusting the HYKIA-01
1. Turntheaftermarketradioon.
2. Setpotentiometerallthewayto
theleft.
3. Setradiotodesiredlevel
4. Adjustthepotentiometertotheright
untiltheradio’saudiolevelishigh
andfreeofdistortion.
5. Reassembledashandenjoyyour
newradio.

To manually set the radio type
1. Turnontheignitionandtheradio
2. Withintherst20-secondsoftheignitionbeingturnedon,pressandhold
downthevolumedownbuttononthesteeringwheelfor20-seconds.
3. TheLEDwillgosolid,whichislocatedonthe16-pinsideoftheinterface.
4. ReleasethevolumedownbuttonandtheLEDwillturnoff
5. Pressthevolumeupbuttonthenumberoftimescorrespondingto
theradiotype.
6. WhenthenumberofpressesmatchestheradioNumber—pressdownthe
volumedownbutton.
7. Theradiotypeisnowstored.
8. TheLEDwillblinkthenumberoftimecorrespondingtotheradiotypeselected.

1. Turntheignitionon.
2. Withintherst20-secondsoftheignitionbeingon,pressandholdvolumeup
buttonfor20-seconds.
3. TheLEDwillgosolid.
4. Releasethevolumebutton—TheLEDwillgooffandSWCbutton#1has
beenstored(volumeupcannotberemapped).
5. Followthelistbelowinorderpushingthesteeringwheelcontrolbuttonyou
wantforthefunctionbelow.Ifyouwanttoskipacommandpressthevolume
uponthesteeringwheel,thiswilltelltheHYKIA-01toskipthecommandand
gotothenextone.
6. Ifabuttonwillnotbeused,pressthevolumeupbuttoninsteadto
indicatethisfact.
7. Continuethroughall14buttons.Pressvolumeupifnotusingagivenbutton.
8. Afterthe14thbuttonallprogrammingisnished.TheLEDswillnolongergo
onwhenpressingabutton.
