AYSO Region 4 Goal Net Setup
For Valley View and Deerhill soccer fields
The Bags are located in locked buildings that will be opened by authorized personnel –our bags say AYSO
and have an AYSO tag –a small lock holds the zippers together –the combination for 4-number locks is 3824,
the combination for 3-number locks is 382. Once opened, re-secure the lock to one zipper so it is not lost. Two
people should carry the bag out to the field where the goal will be located.
Contents of the bag are as follows:
6 Long Bars
4 Angle Bars
2 Connecting Bars
1 Center Bar with net threaded
2 Corner Flags
10 Iron Stakes & 1 Hammer

When you unzip the bag this is what you’ll see:
Take the Center Bar out, careful to keep net centered –lay down on grass:
Take Connecting Bar and insert into side of Center Bar with Net:

Insert Long Bar vertically into end of Angle Bar on both sides:
With a helper, lift the Center Bar off the grass a couple of feet so you can unroll the net –be careful not
to tangle the net…
Note how the net is Threaded onto the bar:

Once the net is completely unrolled, you can push the net across the top, down the sides, and across
the back leg…
Once the goal is finished, move the front legs to the goal line hash marks, which should be painted on
the field. Make sure both goals are lined up across from each other.
Next, you will secure the goal to the ground. Leave the goal bag a few feet behind the goal.

Taking Down the Goals
After the last game of the day, you will do the following:
Remove all the stakes and return them to the bag
With one or more helpers, tilt the goal forward slightly, and push the threaded net back across the leg,
up the side, and across the top bar so it is once again centered in the middle of the Center Bar. Gather
the sides of the net and bring together so it looks like below:
Now you can start disconnecting all the various bars and place them back in the goal bag. You will be
left with the Center Bar as above.
The Stakes provided
secure the goal to
the ground.
Use 3 stakes on each
side leg, and 4 stakes
for back of net.

Start rolling the bar forward until the net looks similar to this:
Carefully replace the bar and net in the goal bag. Don’t forget the Corner Flags, stakes, and hammer.
Unlock the lock from zipper, and carefully zip up bag, bring two zippers together and relock –make
sure you spin tumbler so it is off the combination.
Two people should carry the bag back to the designated building.
