Bad Cat 2 TONE User manual

FOR YOUR RECORDS, YOU MAY WISH TO RECORD THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.
SERIAL NO._____________________ INVOICE DATE______________________
Last updated: July 30, 2013
Thank you for purchasing a professional
tube effects pedal from Bad Cat™. Similar
to all Bad Cat products, your 2 Tone pedal
is designed from the ground up to provide
the best tones possible in a rugged, reli-
able package.
Tube socket is of highest quality. Wire
leads are multi-strand, Teon coated, and
are predipped in solder prior to connec-
tion. Newly designed and isolated trans-
former assures quiet in-line operation.
Chassis housing is 14 gauge industrial
steel: heavy chromed top and rugged
powder-coated bottom. No wall wart:
handy detachable heavy duty power cord.
In sum, absolutely no short-cuts were
taken to build your 2 Tone pedal. Your Bad
Cat pedal is a serious and powerful musi-
cal tool that will assist you in reaching
new performance levels.
Thank you again for your support and
enjoy your Bad Cat.
CAUTION
With a bit of care and caution, your Bad
Cat should expand your musical abilities
for years to come. Avoid damp areas for
pay or storage. This includes placement
of beverages near or on the pedal that
could tip to cause personal shock or live
shorts. Liquids can easily damage tubes,
switches, and other parts: immediately
disconnect the pedal from its power
source in case of spills and thoroughly
dry the pedal prior to reuse. Drying may
require complete removal of the chassis
and removal of the tubes for cleaning.
Be certain to check everything to avoid
shock.
Operating Manual
THE 2 TONE
MODEL THE 2 TONE PEDAL:

volume when accessing this Tone Channel. This channel is both your Tone Boost and
Clean play channel when optional tone color may be desired without overdrive.
Gain Boost on channel two provides pure tube overdrive effect as a function of the gain
and master settings. Use of the interactive bass and treble controls offer an array of tonal
shapes.

CHANNEL ONE / TONE BOOST
Provides a VOLUME or level match control to maintain sound play
reference volumewhen accessing this TONE channel. Consider
this channel to be both your tone boost channel and clean-play
channel where optional tone color may be desired without over-
drive artifacts. As a reference-type channel only, the MASTER does
not affect it.
CONTROL MODE - READOUT: Even under lowest ambient light,
pedal mode is easily conrmed via:
RED - GAIN BOOST
YELLOW - TONE BOOST
GREEN - TRUE BYPASS vs EFFECT
CHANNEL TWO / GAIN BOOST
Provides a GAIN boost or overdrive effect as a function of the GAIN
& MASTER settings. In this manner, MASTER provides a dual-
purpose in that it too will ensure proper level match. In general,
CLEAN play is best achieved with these settings:
GAIN LOWER + MASTER HIGHER
and HI-GAIN sound is best achieved with these settings:
GAIN HIGHER + MASTER LOWER
Additional BASS and TREBLE controls are technically both ACTIVE
and INTERACTIVE to very quickly produce a wide variety of thin to
fat tube tones with only minor adjustment.
