Using the MobileSound3 Audio Suite Program
The MobileSound3 Audio Suite programconsists of3 sub-panels:
1. Block diagram inthe upper left corner,showing the audio path ofMS3.
2. Frequency response plot inthe upper right corner,showing the
frequency response ofthe DSPalgorithms.
3. Controlpanelinthe bottomofthe screenfor modifying the settings of
the different blocks inthe MS3.
Whenthe controlboardand MS3 EV boardhave beenconnectedand the
MobileSound3 Audio Suite hasbeenstarted,activate the MS3 EV-boardby
performing the following stepsinthe block diagram inthe upper left corner:
1. Go to “File ->Open->I2C Settings”.Browse tothe folder “…
demosettings”whichis locatedinthe installationdirectory of
MobileSound3 Audio Suite.Selectaninitializationfile.Check that the
communication status indicator inthe bottomleft corner is green.Ifit
is red,this indicates that the I2C connectionis not working properly.
2. Enable either headphone or speakeramplifiers by right-clicking the
Headphone- or Speaker– triangle.The triangles arewhite when the
audio amplifiersareenabled.
3. Unmute the signalpathby right-clicking the Volume block.The
Volume block turns white to indicatethat theaudio pathis un-muted.
Use the volumeslider to adjust the volume to the desiredlevel.
4. Power upthe MS3 by right-clicking onthe power block inthe bottom
ofthe diagram.The power block is highlightedwitharedrectangle in
the figure below:
5. The MS3 is nowfully operational. Start audio playback fromyour
mediaplayer program onthe PC.The MS3 shouldnowbe playing
througheither the loudspeakers or the headphones (make sure your
mediaplayer is setupto use “ USB Audio DAC ”as soundcarddevice).

Requirements:Windows XP (SP2),preferablyaLCD screen(min. 1024x768),
Microsoft .NET Framework2.0
1. Install the MobileSound3 Audio Suite program from
“..\Software\MobileSound3 Audio suite\Setup.exe” onthe CD.
- Followthe on-screeninstructions.
- Use the License Key locatedinthe CD envelope.
2. Install the driver for the USB controlboardbyfollowing the listedsteps:
a. Connect the USB cable fromthe PC to theControlBoardandwait
untilthe boardis detected.
b. Whenthe “Welcome tothe FoundNewHardware Wizard”appear,
select “No,not at this time”to the questionabout connecting to
Windows Update,andpress Next
c. Choose Install fromalist orspecificlocation(advanced) andpress
Next .
d. Onthe following screenpressBrowse andlocate the MobileSound
3 Audio Suite installationpathandselectthe auto-generatedfolder
“INSTALLATION_PATH\ driverv35\” andinclude it inthe search.
Press next.
e. A warning may nowappear.Ignore this by Pressing Continue
Anyway .
f. The driver isnowinstalling….Wait untilthis process is completed
andpress Finish .
3. Check that the4-pinI2C connector andthe 6-pinI2S connector cable
fromthe controlboardto the MS3 evaluationboardareconnected.
4. Connect astereo speaker to the redandblack mini-bananaconnections –
andanearphone to the jack plug (ifrequired).
5. Connect the ‘Power supply cable’,Black=GND andRed= +4.2 Vdc.
6. Turnonthe power
7. Openthe MobileSound3 AudioSuite program fromthe Windows Start-
menu Start\Programs\Bang & OlufsenICEpower\Mobile Sound3 Audio
Suite”
IMPORTANT
Only use the USB controlboard onaUSB bus without any other devices
connected.
