SPECIAL NOTE: Installation Sequences
A
fter TMS and Safety mandated preparatory steps have been
taken, the installation sequence is the suggested method for
completing the accessory installation. In some instances the
suggested sequence is written for one associate to install and in
others the sequence is given as part of a team accessory
installation. Unless otherwise stated in the document, the
associates may perform the installation steps in any order to
make the installation as efficient as possible while maintaining
consistent quality.

Procedure
Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this
accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation.
These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document.
This document covers such items as:-
• Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.).
• Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.).
• Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.).
• Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.).

1. Install Speaker.
(a) Using NRT, remove blank panel. Fig 1A.
(b) Plug wiring harness into plug behind panel.

(c) Hold speaker in place, and hand tighten
silver screws as indicated to swing locks
out behind speaker assembly until tight
against sheet metal. Over tightening could
break assembly. Fig 1C.

2. Cut Speaker Cover
(a) Using supplied template and Dremel tool,
cut the panel as shown in figure 2A.
(b) Using supplied template drill (4) 3/32 holes
in panel as shown in figure 2B.
3. Install Grille into Speaker Cover
NOTE: Use side cutters to trim ribs on back of
cover. Fig 3A
(a) Using supplied push nuts, carefully secure
four mounting posts on Grille as shown in
figure 3A
(b) Reinstall Speaker Cover / Grille Assembly.

Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting
Condition: Check For:
No sound from Rear Speakers, however
factory speakers still play
Distorted Sound
Low Sound If Bass Tube installed.
Rattling Noises
1. Ensure speaker plugs are connected,
both at the plug into the vehicles harness
and on the back of the speaker.
1. Check for short in wiring between plug
and speaker.
1. Close the back hatch of the vehicle
2. Adjust the radio to a comfortable listening
level, and then turn the “gain control” knob
on the Bass Tube clockwise until the sound
becomes audible. Do not adjust the level too
high, as this will result in distorted sound.
Rattling will be evident in some panels at
extreme volume conditions, but make sure
you have performed the following to
minimize noise:
1. Securely tightened Mounting Hardware so
Speaker Assembly does not move.
