How to fit your Tipi Stove from Bell Tent UK
Hello
Thanks for buying one of our handmade (in the UK) Bell Tent Tipi Stoves. This stove is
designed to fit one of our 5 metre tipis and should allow you to extend your camping
season.

How to Fit the Bell Tent UK Tipi Stove Kit.
Tools needed:
•A screw driver for the flue kit connectors
Assembling the Stove.
Your Bell Tent UK Tipi Stove has been designed to pack down small for transport and
should only take a couple of minutes to put together.
Turn the stove upside down and screw on the 4 legs onto the bottom of the stove.
Flip the stove over and put it on the bottom plate.
Now it’s time to connect the parts of the flue together

Start with the top piece with the double skin heat protector and make sure you have
correct end with the cap so the sheath doesn’t slip down when the piece is vertical.
This then sets you up for the rest of the build.
Take a clamp and screw the two parts together
(new version uses ski boot like clamps so you don’t need the crew driver.)
On the next joint use the clamp with the securing chain and attach in the same way
Repeat with the final shortest piece so you have a long securely attached flue like the
image above.
Now it’s time fit the flue to the tent.
Make sure you’ve correctly erected the tipi but leave the straps around the pegs loose to
make it easier to drop the main pole.

Get the flue lined up outside the door and then drop the main pole out of the door so it
ends up next to the flue. Now walk back into the tent holding both the pole and flue and
push the flue through the webbing under the slit in the cap.
Go back outside and fit the cap (or even better stay inside and get someone else to do
it).
Now raise both the pole and the flue back to vertical and make sure you slide the double
skin section is over the webbing.
Secure the chain round the main pole and then get the stove and bottom plate and drop
the bottom of the flue into the top of the stove.
Job done, enjoy your toasty tipi

Putting your Stove away.
Very quick and easy, just follow the Assembly Instructions backwards but here a few
tips:
•Make sure everything has cooled down enough and use water to cool if not.
•The easiest way to empty the ash is to remove the protection plates and legs and
turn the whole stove upside down. (Be sure to empty in a safe place and make
sure the ash and embers are truly out by pouring some water over them. Be
responsible and leave no trace!)

Bell Tent UK takes no responsibility for the misuse of this product or for any damage
caused by using it. Bell tents from us are not pre fire proofed so if you feel that is
necessary make sure you do it yourself. This stove is a sealed unit so with some
common sense you can protect yourselves. We recommend that you always put a mat
or piece of carpet under your stove as sparks will go straight through the ground sheet.
Always have a means of putting out a fire within reach and always make sure the fire is
put to bed before you are.
Our Bell Tent UK Stove is tested and rated to 2.5kw. This is a good temperature to warm
up a tent without becoming a furnace. Do not use artificial means to make your stove
burn hotter (like constantly blowing or fanning the flares to create a furnace). You risk
damaging the stove kit and even your tent.
