Precautions to avoid possible exposure to
excessive microwave energy
uDo not attempt to operate this oven with the door
open since this can result in harmful exposure to
microwave energy. It is important not to break or tamper
with the safety interlocks.
uDo not place any object between the oven front face
and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate
on sealing surfaces.
uIf the apparatus is not maintained in a good state of
cleanliness, its surface could be degraded and affect the
life span of the apparatus and lead to a dangerous
situation.
Warning! Liquids and other foods must not be heated in
sealed containers since they are liable to explode.
uDo not overcook food.
uDo not use the oven cavity for storage purposes.
Do not store items, such as bread, cookies, etc. inside
the oven.
uRemove wire twist-ties and metal handles from
paper or plastic containers/bags before placing them in
the oven.
uInstall or locate this oven only in accordance with the
installation instructions provided
uMetallic containers for food and beverages are not allowed
during microwave cooking.
uThe microwave oven is intended for heating food and
beverages. Drying of food or clothing and heating of
warming pads, slippers, sponges, damp cloth and similar
may lead to risk of injury, ignition or fire.
uIf smoke is observed, switch off or unplug the appliance
and keep the door closed in order to stifle any flames.
uThis microwave oven is a free-standing unit & must not be
built-in or placed in a cabinet.
uThe oven must have sufficient air flow. To ensure good
ventilation, a gap of 10 centimetres is required at the back,

Using your appliance

uDo not attempt to deep-fry foods in this oven.
uMicrowave ovens heat the food in a container and not
the container itself. It is always necessary to check the
temperature of the food to ensure it is correctly cooked.
uAlways stir food to distribute the heat evenly and allow it to
stand for a few minutes before consumption.
uContainers used for cooking can become hot because of
heat transferred from the heated food. Always use oven
gloves when removing items from the oven.

Extension cables & class 1 product
uA 3 core cable must be used as your tool is earthed and of
class 1 construction.
uUp to 30m (100 ft) can be used without loss of power.
uIf the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or an authorised BLACK+DECKER Service
Centre in order to avoid a hazard.

Unpacking
uRemove all packaging from the appliance.
uInspect the oven after unpacking for any damage such
as a misaligned or damaged door, door seals, dents or
holes in the door window and screen, and any dents in the
cavity. If any of these are seen, DO NOT use the oven.
Assembly
Warning! Before assembly, make sure that the appliance is
switched off and unplugged.
u Place the appliance on a at, even surface.
uOpen the door (6) & place the turntable shaft (2) into the
hole in the cavity base.
uPlace the turntable ring assembly (3) into the grooves in
the cavity.
uAlign the glass tray (4) on top of the turntable ring
assembly (3).
uConnect the appliance to a suitable electrical supply.
uNever place the glass tray upside down. The glass
tray should never be restricted.
uBoth glass tray and turntable ring assembly must
always be used during cooking.
uAll food and containers of food are always placed
on the glass tray for cooking.
uIf glass tray or turntable ring assembly cracks or
breaks, contact your nearest authorized service center.
uIf steam accumulates inside or around the outside of the
oven door, wipe with a soft cloth. This may occur when
the microwave oven is operated under high humidity
conditions and in no way indicates malfunction of the unit.
uDo not use the appliance outdoors.
uDo not operate the appliance if your hands are wet. Do not
operate the appliance if you are barefoot.
uIf the power supply cord is damaged during use,
disconnect the appliance from the power supply
immediately. Do not touch the power supply cord before
disconnecting from the power supply.
uDisconnect the appliance from the power supply when not
in use and before cleaning.

Setting the clock
uPress 'CLOCK/ TIMER' once, '00:00' will display.
uPress the number keys and enter the current time. For
example, if time is 12:10, please press '1,2,1,0' in turn.
uPress 'CLOCK/ TIMER' to nish clock setting. ':' will ash
and the clock will be Illuminated.
Note: If the numbers input are not within the range of 1:00--
12:59, the setting will be invalid until valid numbers are input.
Note: In the process of setting the clock, if the 'STOP/
CANCEL' button is pressed or if there is no operation
within 1 minute, the oven will go back to the former setting
automatically.
uIf the clock needs to be reset, please repeat the 3 steps
above.
Kitchen timer
uPress 'CLOCK/ TIMER' twice, LED will display '00:00'.
uPress the number keys and enter the timer time,(the
maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds)
uPress 'START/+30SEC.' to conrm setting.
uWhen the allotted time has elapsed, the buzzer will ring 5
times. If the clock is set to the 12-hour system, the LED
will display the current time.
Note: When using the kitchen timer, no other program can
be set.
Microwave cook
uPress 'TIME COOK' once, LED will display '00:00'.
uPress number keys to input the cooking time; the
maximum cooking time is 99 minutes and 99 seconds.
uPress 'POWER' once, LED will display 'PL10'. The default
power is 100% power. Now you can press the number
keys to adjust the power level.
uPress 'START/+30SEC.' to start cooking.
For example: If you want to cook food with 50% microwave
power for 15 minutes:
uPress 'TIME COOK' once, LED will display '00:00'.
uPress '1','5','0','0' in order.
uPress 'POWER' once,then press '5' to select 50%
microwave power.
uPress 'START/+30SEC.' to start cooking.
Note: In the process of setting the clock, if the 'STOP/
CANCEL' button is pressed or if there is no operation
within 1 minute, the oven will go back to the former setting
automatically.
uIf 'PL0' is selected, the oven will work with fan only. You
can use this level to remove odours from the oven.
uDuring microwave cooking, 'POWER' can be pressed
to alter the power setting. After pressing 'POWER',the
current power setting will ash for 3 seconds. You can
then press number button to change the power setting.
The oven will work with the selected power for the rest of
the cooking time.

Grill cook
uPress the 'GRILL/COMBO' button once to choose the grill
function, the LED will display 'G-1'.
uSet the cooking time, the maximum cooking time is 99
minutes and 99 seconds.
Example: To set 12 minutes 50 seconds, press '1', '2', '5', '0'
in order.
uPress 'START/+30SEC.' to start cooking.
Note: When half the grill time has passed, the oven
pauses and sounds twice, this is normal. You can just press
'START/+30SEC.' to continue cooking. But in
order to have a more effective grilled end result, you
should turn the food over, close the door, and then press
'START/+30SEC.' to continue cooking. If there is no operation
within 1 minute, the oven will continue working and beep once.
Combination cook (microwave + grilling)
uPress the 'GRILL/COMBO' button twice or thrice to
choose 'Combination 1' (55%microwave + 45%grill) or
'Combination 2' (36%microwave + 64%grill), LED will
display 'C1' or 'C-2'.
uSet the cooking time, the maximum cooking time is 99
minutes and 99 seconds.
Example: To set 12 minutes 50 seconds, press '1', '2', '5', '0'
in order.
uPress 'START/+30SEC.' to start cooking.

Weight defrost function
uPress 'WEIGHT/TIME DEFROST' once, the LED will
display 'dEF1'.
uPress numerical buttons to input weight to be defrosted.
Input the weight range between 100 - 2000g.
uIf the weight entered is not within 100 - 2000g range, the
input will be invalid.
uPress 'START/+30SEC.' to start defrosting, the remaining
cooking time will be displayed.
Time defrost function
uPress 'WEIGHT/TIME DEFROST' twice, the LED will
display 'dEF2'.
uPress the numbers pad to input the defrosting time. The
effective time range is 00:01 - 99:99
uThe default microwave power is set to power level 3. If
you want to change the power level, press 'POWER' once,
the LED will display 'PL 3', you can then use the number
pad to select the power level you desire.
uPress 'START/+30SEC.' to start defrosting. The remaining
cooking time will be displayed.
Popcorn feature
uPress 'POPCORN' repeatedly until the number you wish
appears in the display, '50' - '100' grams will display.
For example, press 'POPCORN' once, '50' appears.
uPress 'START/+30 SEC.' to begin cooking, the buzzer will
sound once. When cooking nishes, the buzzer will
sound ve times and the oven will turn back to its default
waiting state.
Potato feature
uPress 'POTATO' repeatedly until the number you wish
appears in the display, '1','2','3' will display in order.
u'1' = 1 potato (approximate 230 gram).
u'2' = 2 potatoes (approximate 460 gram).
u'3' = 3 potatoes (approximate 690 gram).
uFor example, press 'POTATO' once , '1' appears.
Press 'START/+30 SEC.' to begin cooking, buzzer will
sound once. When cooking is nished, the buzzer will
sound ve times and the oven will turn back to its default
waiting state.
Frozen vegetable feature
uPress 'FROZEN VEGETABLE' repeatedly until the
number you wish appears in the display, '150','350','500'
grams will display in order.
uFor example, press 'FROZEN VEGETABLE' once , '150'
appears. Press 'START/+30 SEC.' to begin cooking,
buzzer will sound once. When cooking is nished, the
buzzer will sound ve times and the oven will turn back to
its default waiting state.
Beverage feature
uPress 'BEVERAGE' repeatedly until the number you wish
appears in the display, '1','2','3' cup will display in order.
One cup is about 120ml.
uFor example, press 'BEVERAGE' once , '1' appears.
Press 'START/+30 SEC.' to begin cooking, buzzer will
sound once. When cooking is nished, the buzzer will
sound ve times and the oven will turn back to its default
waiting state.
Meat function
Chicken menu
uPress 'MEAT' once to choose chicken menu, 'CHIC'
displays.
uPress 'START/+30 SEC.' to conrm. '400' displays.
uKeep pressing 'MEAT' to choose chicken weight. '600',
'800', '1000' or '1200' grams can be selected. Press
'START/+30 SEC.' to begin cooking, buzzer will sound
once. When cooking is nished, the buzzer will sound
ve times and the oven will turn back to its default waiting
state.

uPress 'MEAT' twice to choose beef menu, 'BEEF'
displays.
uPress 'START/+30 SEC.' to conrm. '300' displays.
uKeep pressing 'MEAT' to choose beef weight.
'500','700','900' or '1100' grams can be selected. Press
'START/+30 SEC.' to begin cooking, buzzer will sound
once. When cooking is nished, the buzzer will sound
ve times and the oven will turn back to its default waiting
state.
Pork menu
uPress 'MEAT' three times to choose pork menu. 'PO'
displays.
uPress 'START/+30 SEC.' to conrm . '150' displays.
uKeep pressing 'MEAT' to choose pork weight. '300', '450',
'600' or '750' grams can be selected. Press 'START/+30
SEC.' to begin cooking, buzzer will sound once. When
cooking is nished, the buzzer will sound ve times and
the oven will turn back to its default waiting state.
Dinner plate feature
uPress 'DINNER PLATE' repeatedly until the number you
wish appears in the display, '250', '350', '500' grams will
display in order.
uFor example, press 'DINNER PLATE' once , '250'
appears. Press 'START/+30 SEC.' to begin cooking,
buzzer will sound once. When cooking is nished, the
buzzer will sound ve times and the oven will turn back to
its default waiting state.
Frozen pizza feature
uPress 'FROZEN PIZZA' repeatedly until the number you
wish appears in the display, '100', '200', '400' grams will
display in order.
uFor example, press 'FROZEN PIZZA' once , '100'
appears. Press 'START/+30 SEC.' to begin cooking,
buzzer will sound once. When cooking is nished, the
buzzer will sound ve times and the oven will turn back to
its default waiting state.
Multi-stage cooking
2 stages can be set for cooking. In multi-stage cooking, if one
stage is defrosting, then defrosting will be placed at the first
stage automatically.
Note: Auto cooking cannot work in multi-stage cooking.
Example: if you want to cook with 80% microwave power for
5 minutes + 60% microwave power for 10 minutes, follow the
steps below:
uPress 'TIME COOK' once, then press '5', '0', '0' to set the
cooking time;
uPress 'POWER' once,then press '8' to select 80% micro-
wave power.
uPress 'TIME COOK' once, then press '1','0','0','0' to set
the cooking time;
uPress 'POWER' once, then press '6' to select 60% micro-
wave power.
uPress 'START/ +30 SEC.' to start cooking.
Lock function for children
Lock: In the waiting state, press 'STOP/CANCEL' for 3
seconds, there will be a long 'beep' denoting that the oven
is entering into the children-lock state; meanwhile, LED will
display ' '
Unlock: In locked state, press 'STOP/CANCEL' for 3
seconds, there will be a long 'beep' denoting that the childlock
has been released.
Memory function
uPress '0/MEMORY' to choose the memory feature. The
LED will display 1, 2, 3.
uIf the procedure has been set, press 'START/ +30 SEC', If
not, continue to set the procedure. Only one or two stages
can be set.
u After nishing the setting, press 'START/ +30 SEC.' once
to save the procedure to memory, and turn back to the
waiting state. Press 'START/ +30 SEC.' again, it will start
cooking.
Example: To set the following procedure as memory 2
to cook the food with 80% microwave power for 3 minutes and
20 seconds. The steps are as follow:
uIn waiting state, press '0/MEMORY' twice, until the screen
displays '2'.
uPress 'TIME COOK' once, then press '3', '2', '0' in order.
uPress 'POWER' once, 'PL10' display, then press '8' and
'PL8' displays.
uPress 'START/ +30 SEC.' to save the setting. Buzzer will
sound once and then the oven will revert to its default
waiting state. If you press 'START/+30SEC.' again, the
procedure will be saved as memory 2.
uTo run the saved procedure, in waiting state, press
'0/MEMORY' twice, the screen will display '2', then press
'START/+30SEC.' to run.

Materials you can use in microwave oven
Utensil Remarks
Aluminium foil. Shielding only. Small smooth pieces
can be used to cover thin parts of meat
or poultry to prevent overcooking.
Arcing can occur if foil is too close to
oven walls. The foil should be at least 1
inch (2.5cm) away from oven walls
Browning dish. Follow manufacturer’s instructions.
The bottom of the browning dish must
beat least 3/16 inch (5mm) above the
turntable. Incorrect usage may cause
the turntable to break.
Utensil Remarks
Dinnerware. Microwave-safe only. Follow
manufacturer's instructions. Do not use
cracked or chipped dishes.
Glass jars. Always remove lid. Use only to heat
food until just warm. Most glass jars
are not heat resistant and may break.
Glassware. Heat-resistant oven glassware only.
Make sure there is no metallic trim. Do
not use cracked or chipped dishes.
Oven cooking

Cleaning and maintenance & storage
Warning! Before cleaning and maintenance, switch the
appliance off and remove the plug from the socket.
Warning! Do not immerse the appliance or the cord set or the
plug in water or any other liquid.
uClean the cavity of the oven after using with a slightly
damp cloth.
uClean the accessories in the usual way in soapy water.
uThe door frame and seal and neighbouring parts must be
cleaned carefully with a damp cloth when they are dirty.
uDo not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal
scrapers to clean the oven door glass since they can
scratch the surface, which may result in shattering of the
glass.
uDo not use solvents or other corrosive chemicals or
vapours for cleaning this appliance.
uCleaning Tip! For easier cleaning of the cavity walls that
the cooked food may come in to contact with: Place half
a lemon in a bowl, add 300ml (1/2 pint) water and heat on
100% microwave power for 10 minutes. Wipe the oven
clean using a soft, dry cloth.
Mains plug replacement
If a new mains plug needs to be tted:
uSafely dispose of the old plug.
uConnect the brown lead to the live terminal of the new
plug.
uConnect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
uIf the product is class l (earthed), connect the green /
yellow lead to the earth terminal.
Warning! If your product is class ll double insulated (only 2
wires in the cord set), no connection is to be made to the earth
terminal.
Follow the tting instructions supplied with good quality plugs.
Any replacement fuse must be of the same rating as the
original fuse supplied with the product.
