Features
The LT DIST features Blackstar’s patented ISF (Innite Shape Feature)
circuit, giving you innite adjustment over the characteristics of the
tone control and taking you from the USA to the UK and anywhere
in between.
Now you can effectively design your own tone and nally nd ‘the
sound in your head’.

Controls
1. Gain
The Gain control adjusts the amount of overdrive or distortion that
the pedal will deliver. At low settings, counter clockwise (CCW), the
LT DIST will deliver a clean boost, which in conjunction with the Level
control can be used to overdrive an already distorting valve amplier.
As the Gain control is increased clockwise (CW) the sound will
become more overdriven moving through crunch tones until, at its
maximum position, a full distorted lead tone is arrived at.
2. Level
The Level control sets the overall level or volume from the LT DIST.
It should be used in conjunction with the Gain control to achieve the
exact type of drive you require. Generally speaking, to achieve the
correct balance, at lower Gain settings the Level will be increased and
at higher Gain settings the Level should be decreased.
3. Tone
The Tone control allows exact adjustment of the treble frequencies
within the sound. At low settings, counter clockwise (CCW),
the sound will be warm and darker in character. As the control is
increased clockwise (CW) the sound will become brighter. At the
maximum settings the tone will be aggressive and cutting.
4. ISF
The ISF control works in conjunction with the Tone control. It allows
you to choose the exact tone signature you prefer. Fully CCW is a
more American characteristic with a tight bottom end and more
aggressive middle, and fully CW is a British characteristic which is
more ‘woody’ and less aggressive.
See illustration below.
We recommend that to start with the ISF is set to half way and the
Tone control set to taste. Then try gradually adjusting the ISF CW and
CCW until you nd the sound you prefer.
5. Effect On/Off Switch
Press this switch to turn the effect on or off.
6. Effect On/Off LED
When the LED is on the pedal is on. When the LED is not on the
pedal is off.
7. Input
Plug your guitar in here. Always use a good quality screened guitar
lead. To maximise battery life unplug your cable from the pedal when
not in use.
8. Output
This output is for connection to the input of your amplier or into other
pedals or effects. For best noise performance we recommend you
place the LT DIST pedal rst in the effects chain. Always use a good
quality screened guitar lead.
9. DC Inlet
For the input of a 9V DC adapter. Always use a Blackstar approved
9V adapter.
10. Battery Compartment
Insert a 9V PP3 battery here. When the Effect On/Off LED begins to
glow less brightly you should change the battery.
