Carefully read these instructions prior to using the product. Only operate the product as

described herein to prevent potential damage and / or injury resulting from false use of the

product.

National and / or regional regulations must be adhered to and complied with when installing

and operating the product. These must also be complied with for the storage of bio-ethanol,

which is the compulsory fuel for blomus fireplaces.

If necessary please check with your insurance company, local city and / or building

authorities to be sure this type of decorative fireplaces is within local codes and

regulations.

Please keep these instructions for further reference. In case this product is given to

Bio-ethanol is made of renewable and sustainable crop such as starchy, cellulosic or sugar-

containing plants or vegetable waste. nimal feed is often a byproduct. Bio-ethanol is the

fuel of the future. It is environmentally friendly and CO2 neutral as it, when being burned,

sets free only as much CO2 as being absorbed by the plants used for it.

Please only use bio-ethanol in your fireplace. We do recommend to always use blomus bio-

ethanol (e.g. item no 31034) which has been especially developed for blomus fireplaces and

develops a strong, soot free and warm flame. blomus bio-ethanol is available at well-

assorted retailers.

The original blomus bio-ethanol consists of:

-app. 96,6% alcohol

-app. 1% MEK (for denaturing)

-app. 4-6% water

-Bitrex (1g / 100L)

In the US and Canada bio-ethanol is also available as denatured alcohol. In ustralia it is

also called methylated spirits. If you are unsure which fuel is suitable please contact your

local blomus dealer.

•Your blomus bio-ethanol fireplace is only intended to use bio-ethanol as

fuel. Never use any other fuel than bio-ethanol. The fireplace is designed to be a

decorative fireplace with a real flame. It is not suitable as a room heater.

•The fireplace must exclusively be used in sufficiently large, closed and well ventilated

rooms. It is made for domestic use only.

•The fireplaces must only be used in rooms with the following minimum sizes, providing

sufficient ventilation:

•Minimum volume of 60 m³ (219 cu.ft.), equalling an approximate area of 4 x 6 m (13

x 19.7 ft) with a ceiling of 2.5 m (8.2 ft)

•No flammable material or item must be placed on or directly around the fireplace.

•No cooking devices or any other item must be placed on the opening of the burner.

•Do not prepare food in the flame.

•Keep children and pets away from the fireplace and keep a minimum safety distance

of 0.5 m (1.64 ft) from the burning flame.

Bio-ethanol fireplaces use oxygen from the room air when in operation. lways keep the

room sufficiently ventilated but avoid draught. slightly opened window often provides

sufficient ventilation. If you experience sudden fatigue and lack of concentration, it can be a

potential indicator for lack of oxygen.

•Never leave a fireplace unattended when in operation. No flammable material must be

placed within 1m (3.3 ft) of the fireplace (i.g. curtains, furniture, lamps or decorative

items). Do not place any material or item onto the fireplace or any part of it.

•ny openings of the fireplace must be kept clear at all times.

•Item gets very hot while in operation. Never touch the item while in operation, let it

cool off for at least 15 minutes before touching it.

•The fireplace must only be mounted onto a solid wall of non-flammable material.

•The fireplace must not be exposed to direct sunlight and must not be mounted to

the floor.

•The distance between the bottom of the fireplace and the floor must be at least 60

cm (24 inch)

•Fireplaces must only be used in an area protected against cross flow.

•Never change or alter anything of your fireplace, or of any fireplace.

•Only fill the burner when it is completely cooled off. Only fill as described in this

manual.

•Never ignite the bio-ethanol directly. lways follow these instructions.

•The flame must only be extinguished by using the regulating lever.

•Never extinguish the flame with water. Never try to blow out the flame (Darting

Flame!)

•Do not smoke, eat or drink when handling bio-ethanol.

•Never use the fireplace without the safety basin and avoid draft around the fireplace.

•Never fan the flame (Darting Flame!)

•Bio-ethanol must only be stored in a closed and suitable container. Store it in a cool

place with no direct sunlight and keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Never

expose bio-ethanol to direct sunlight or sources of heat. Never store more than 5L

(1.3 gallons) of bio-ethanol in your apartment. Bio-ethanol is easily flammable. Please

always obey federal, state, and / or local regulations.

•Please avoid any movements within the scope of the flame.

•Walls and / or ceilings with a k-value of less than 0.4/m²K, additional safety measures

will be required (thermal conductivity, k, is the intensive property of a material that

indicates its ability to conduct heat. It is defined as the quantity of heat,

transmitted during time through a thickness in a direction normal to a surface of

area, due to a temperature difference under steady state conditions and when the

heat transfer is dependent only on the temperature gradient.)

ll blomus fireplaces have been tested by the TÜV SÜD Industry services in regards to the

most current safety, emission and burning regulations. The following results have been

confirmed:

•The actual test results in the below mentioned room sizes and air change rates fall

below highest allowed concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) of 30 ppm (in

accordance with the Beyerische Feuerverordnung BayFeuV) .

•Please check if the designated room is suitable to operate the fireplace.

•The room must have the minimum volume as detailed in paragraph 3.

•Check if the room has adequate ventilation features and consider the required air changes as

detailed in paragraph 3.

•Is the designated wall surface heat resistant? Drywalls, wooden walls, light-weight walls or

other non heat resistant surfaces are or may not be suitable. If necessary please gather

information about the heat-resistance of the wall you intend to use. This must withstand

temperatures of at least 85°C / 185 F.

•Is the designated wall strong enough? Drywalls, wooden walls, light-weight walls or other non

heat resistant / light surfaces are or may not be suitable. The fireplace weighs up to 25 kg

(55 lb)!

•If mounted to drywalls or wooden walls, the mounting hardware must be mounted to the wall

studs! If necessary please contact a builder / building company for assistance before drilling

the holes.

•Make sure that no power supply lines, pipes or tubes or other devices which might get

damaged when drilling are inside the wall.

•The surface must be level and plain.

•The included mounting hardware (screws and wall plugs) are intended for use in stone, brick

or concrete walls only. For walls of other materials please, different mounting hardware

should be used. Seek advice of your local hardware store if you are unsure which mounting

hardware suits your wall.

•Make sure that the minimum safety distance of 1 m (3.3 ft) between the fireplace and any

flammable material is kept at all times. Please also consider that curtains and drapes may

wave when a window is opened.

1. Mark the drilling spots of the wall bracket onto the wall. Make

sure the alignment is level. Use a water level.

2. Drill the holes ( Ø 8 mm drill) and fit the wall plugs in.

3. Mount the wall bracket onto the wall using the included

screws and washers. Double-check the correct alignment and

check if the bracket is level. Readjust if necessary. Then tighten

the screws firmly.

4. Place the fireplace body onto the wall bracket. The two hooks

of the bracket must fit into the provided slots on the back of the

fireplace body.

5. Double-check if the fireplace sits firmly on the bracket

6. Install the burner as instructed in § 5.3

If the model 65334 is to be installed onto the base 65335, please follow the instruction manual of

the base 65335.

1. Place the safety basin into the

designated opening in the fireplace body

Please make sure that it is arranged the

right way. The slide slots for the burner

cover must face to the back.

3. Mount the burner cover / flame regulator

into the slide slots located at each end of

the burner. Make sure the brushed side

faces up.

4. Check if the flame regulator can smoothly

and completely be operated. Use the

supplied sliding tool.

1. Remove the safety glass from the fireplace.

2. Use the sliding tool to completely open the

burner cover / flame regulator.

3.Place the funnel into the opening of the burner.

Fill the measuring pitcher with the desired

amount of ethanol. Slowly pour the ethanol into

the funnel (hold the funnel with one hand) up to

the level marker in the burner. Do not overfill!

4. Close the bio-ethanol container and put the

ethanol, the measuring pitcher and the funnel

aside, keeping a safety distance of at least 1 m

(3.3 ft) around the fireplace.

5. Replace the safety glass into the provided

slots. Make sure the rounded edges face up.

3. Ignite the moistened end of the prong using

a stick lighter. Please keep a safety distance.

4. Transfer the flame by dipping the prong into

the ethanol inside the burner. In case the flame

does not ignite, please repeat the process. It

will take about 15 minutes for the flame to get

to its operating temperature.

1. bio-ethanol in cool condition may take several attempts to ignite until the flame burns steadily

and constantly. If necessary repeat the ignition process as detailed in paragraph 6.2

2. When bio-ethanol remains in the burner for a longer time its flammability is being reduced

(depending on temperature, humidity it can already partly evaporate after 1 day). Dispose of the

remaining ethanol by carefully emptying the burner into a suitable container. Bio-ethanol must not

be disposed of into domestic sewage (toilet, sink etc.). The container with the remaining ethanol

must be disposed of at an authorised waste site.

paragraph 6.4)

•If possible let the fuel burn out completely until the burner is fully emptied. This avoids a

potential deflagration when reignited and smell of alcohol in the room. To shut down the flame

please proceed as follows:

1. Completely close the burner cover / flame regulator with the provided sliding tool.

2. Wait until the flame is fully extinguished.

3. If necessary dispose of remaining fuel after the burner has completely cooled down (see

paragraph 10.1)

Move the lever to reopen the burner and close it again with a quick movement. This will cut the

flame off. If necessary repeat this until the flame is shut off completely.

In the event of this being unsuccessful please let the flame burn with the burner being closed for

another 5-10 minutes. Then repeat the above procedure. If this is unsuccessful please open the

burner and the all the fuel burn off.

The burner should regularly be cleaned.

Please proceed as follows:

1. Dispose of any remaining ethanol by carefully filling it into a suitable container. The container with

the remaining ethanol must be disposed of at a municipal waste site.

2. Bio-ethanol must not be disposed of into domestic sewage (toilet, sink etc.).

If you are unsure how to properly dispose of the product, or any product, please contact your local

authorised waste management site.
