1General comments
1.1 Introduction
Theseoperating instructionswillfacilitateoperation,maintenanceandupkeepofthemachine
fortheoperator. They willassistinkeepingthe machineat ahigh levelofperformanceduring
itslongworkinglifeandcontributetoaccidentprevention.
Duringmaintenance andupkeep workon themachine, safetyand accidentprevention
regulationsmust beobserved.
Theoperatinginstructionsforthismachineare anintegral partof themachine. All operators
ofthemachineneedtobefamiliar withthem. In theevent themachine istransfered toa
differentlocation orowner,theinstructionsshouldstaywiththemachine.
Priorto runningthemachineinproduction,makeatrialruntoensureallcomponentsare
fucntioningcorrectly andall operatorsare completelyfamiliar withthe correctand safe
operationof themachine.

1.2 Transport of the machine
When transporting the machine use only the eye bolt provided or equal. The bolt is an M20X
standardeyebolt.
Using the lifting bolt will ensure proper balancing of the machine while moving it. Using other
devicestomovethemachine couldcuase damage.

2.10 Changes in the machine
Incaseof changesin themachineor itsmode of
operationwhich concernsafety,turnmachineoff
immediatelyand reportthe malfunctionto theresponsible
person. Donot makeanychangestothemachinewithout
approvalofthe supplier. Thisisalso applicabletothe
installationand adjustmentofsafetyequipmentand valves
aswellas tothe weldingonbearing parts.
Arbitrarychanges tothe machinesthatmodifyanythingdeliveredbyBOSCHERT ruleout the
liabilityof themanufacturer fordamages resultingfromsuchactions.
The warranty of the manufacturer becomes void under these circumstances.

Sparepartsmustconformtothetechnicalrequirements
stipulatedby themanufacturer.Thisis alwaysguaranteed

Shutdown andlockout machineimmediately in

2.21 Machine start-up
Beforethemachineisstarted upafter anextended timeorafterassemblyand maintenance
work,the operatingpersonnel needto checkall safetycovers andsafety installationsto
ensuretheyareinplaceandfunctioning. Before commissioningand startingup, seethat no
personnelcould beendangered bythe startof themachine.
ATTENTION !
Never work without Plexiguard! Make sure the Plexiguard is
fixed in place, especially after changing of the blades.

Useonly originalfuses withspecified strengthof current. Incase ofmalfunctioningofthe
electricenergy supply,switchoffthemachine immediately.
Workon theelectrical componentmay onlybe done
according to the applicable electrical codes by an electrician or an
instructedperson underthe supervisionof anelectrician.
Theelectricalequipmentofa machineis tobe regularlyinspectedandexamined.
Deficienciessuchas looseconnections orscorchedparts mustbeimmediately repaired.
Checkifpower tothe machineiscut offbefore inspection, maintenance,and repairworkis
carriedout. First testwhetherthepartswhichhavebeencutoffarefreeofvoltage,then
groundand shortcircuit themandisolateadjacentcurrent-carryingparts.
Ifworkis requiredon partsunder power, haveasecondpersonavailable tooperate the
emergencyshutdownormainswitchinthecaseofan emergency. Isolatethe workingarea
witharedandwhitesecuritychain anda signof warning.Useonlytoolswithproper
insulation.
2.23 Noise
Allsoundprotectioninstallationsofthemachinemustbeintheir protectiveposition during
operation. Wearnecessarypersonalearprotection.

Somecustomersarenotable tonotch tocapacityusingA-36, 1/4“structural sheets. A-36
hasatensilestrengthanywhere from55,000 to85,000 psi. TH2.3 Locationofthe operating
instructions. Thismaterialis 10%to 60%overthe ratedcapacity ofmildsteel onthe
machines.
Ifthe initalcut oftheA-36 isnot continuousand steady,thetensilestrengthprobablyisharder
thanthemachines ratedcapacity. (Example, firststrokestopsand asecondstroke is
neededafterrestartingthemachine.) Continueduseinthissituationcanresult inmain piston
fatigueand finallyfailure.
Note: Not allA-36 is created eqaul. Some will work fine and some will be over capacity. WE

Description
4.1 Operating keys and pertaining LED’s
1) Key Hydraulics on (ON, OFF)
2) Key Pneumatics on (ON, OFF)
4.2 Modes of operation
Notactive onfixed anglemachines.
Thehydraulicsystemcanbeactivatedby pressingthis key(it islocated onthetopright-hand
sideoftheoperatorpanel). Thehydraulicsystem maybe turnedoff againby operatingthe
samekey.
TheconditionHYDRAULICSON isindicated bythe LEDabovethePROGkey.
Thehydraulic systemis controlledbyahighperformanceintegratedcircuit. Ifthehydraulic
systemis switchedoff duringthe operation,all outputsfrom thiscircuit tothe hydraulicsystem
are also stopped.
Thepneumaticsystemcanbe activatedby pressingthiskey(itis locatedon thebottomright-
handsideoftheoperatorpanel). Thepneumatic systemmay beturned offagain by
operating the same key. The condition ‘‘Pneumatics on“ is indicated by the LED above the
key.
Ahighperformanceintegratedcircuit output‘‘left“ or “right“can onlybeaccessedifthe
pneumaticsystemisswitchedon. Ifthepneumatic systemis switchedoff viathis keyduring a
runningmovement, thetow highperformanceintegratedcircuitoutputsaccessedviathe
pnuematicsystem arealsoswitchedoffbythesoftware.
AIRfunctions onlyinmachineswithapneumaticdevice.
3 modes of operation can be set by LEDs:
*CONTINUOUS STROKE left LED
*SINGLE STROKE center LED
*SET-UP right LED
