Charging the shaver
• First charging: Using the power supply cord set,
connect the shaver to the mains with the switch
on position «off» and charge it for at least 4 hours
(plug might get warm).
• Once the shaver is completely charged, shave with-
out the cord until fully discharged. Then recharge to
full capacity again (subsequent charges will take
about 1 hour).
•Afull charge will give up to 50 minutes of cordless
shaving time depending on your beard growth.
However, the maximum battery capacity will only be
reached after several charging/discharging cycles.
• Best environmental temperature range for charging
is 60 °F to 95 °F / 15 °C to 35 °C.
• The charging light shows that the shaver is being
charged. When the rechargeable batteries are fully
charged, the charging light goes off.
If later on, the charging light comes on again, this
indicates that the shaver is being recharged to
maintain its full capacity.

Shaving
Switch lock
The shaver is delivered with the switch lock activated
(position «lock»). Push the switch lock up before you
shave for the first time. To avoid accidentally switching
the shaver on, e.g. when travelling, push the switch lock
to position «lock».

Shaving with the cord
If the rechargeable batteries are discharged, you may
also shave with the shaver connected to the mains via
the power supply cord set.
(If the shaver does not run immediately, charge it with
the switch on position «off» for approx. 1 minute.)
Tips for the perfect shave
• It can take 14-21 days for your beard to adjust to
the new shaving system.
•We recommend that you shave before washing,
as the skin tends to be slightly swollen after
washing.
• Hold the shaver at right angles (90°) to the skin.
• Stretch your skin and shave against the direction
of beard growth.
• Replace the shaver foil and cutter block every
18 months, or when the parts are worn, to ensure
optimum shaving performance.

Keeping your shaver in top shape
Automated cleaning
The Braun Clean&Charge automatically takes care of all
cleaning and lubrication needs of your shaver. Please
refer to section B.
Manual cleaning
For easy manual cleaning after each shave, switch the
shaver off. Press the release button, take off the shaver
foil and gently tap it out on a flat surface.
Using the brush, clean the cutter block and the inner
area of the pivoting head. About every four weeks,
clean the cutter block with Braun cleaning agents.
If your skin is very dry and you notice a reduced
operation time of the shaver, apply a drop of light
machine oil onto the shaver foil.
Do not rinse the shaver in or under water.
Replacing the shaving parts
The shaver foil and cutter block are precision parts that,
in time, are subject to wear. Replace your foil and cutter
block every 18 months and get a 25 % better shave.*

Preserving the cell unit
In order to maintain the optimum capacity of the
rechargeable batteries, the shaver has to be fully
discharged (by shaving) every 6 months approximately.
Then recharge the shaver to full capacity again. This
reconditions the rechargeable batteries.

This appliance is provided with a nickel-hydride bat-
teries. They do not contain any harmful heavy metals.
Nevertheless, in the interest of recycling raw materials,

B Clean&Charge
Braun Clean&Charge has been developed for cleaning,
charging and storing your shaver. Clean your shaver
daily in the Clean&Charge.
During the automated cleaning process, the shaver is
switched on and off at intervals to obtain best cleaning
results. Since the specially formulated cleaning fluid
contains a small amount of oil, the cleaning procedure
also fulfills the lubrication needs of the shaver.
Important
• Only use the power supply cord set supplied with
the shaver.
• In order to avoid any leakage of the cleaning fluid,
place the appliance on a flat, stable surface. Do
not tip, move suddenly or transport in any way if a
cleaning cartridge is installed.
• Do not place the appliance in a mirror cabinet, nor
store it over radiators, nor place it on polished or
laquered surfaces. Do not expose to direct sunlight.
• The appliance contains highly flammable
liquid. Keep it away from sources of ignition.
No smoking. Keep out of reach of children. Do not
refill cartridge. Use only original Braun refill
cartridge.
• When cleaning the shaver, its protection cap should
be removed.

Before using Clean&Charge
First charge:
For the first charge of the shaver, connect the power
supply cord set directly to the shaver, charge it for
4 hours and shave at least once.
Only then can the shaver be cleaned or recharged in the
Clean&Charge.
If the rechargeable batteries are discharged, select the
combined «clean» + «charge» programme rather than
the «clean» programme alone.
Installing the cartridge
Press the lift button (12) to open the housing.
Hold the cartridge down on a flat, stable surface
(e.g. table). Carefully remove the lid from the cartridge.
Slide the cartridge into the base as far as it will go.
Slowly close the housing by pushing it down until it
locks.
Replacing the cartridge
After having pressed the lift button to open the housing,
wait for a few seconds before removing the used car-
tridge.
Before discarding the used cartridge, make sure to
close the openings using the lid of the new cartridge,
since the used cartridge will contain contaminated
cleaning solution.
Operating your Clean&Charge
•Use the power supply cord set from your shaver and
plug it into the Clean&Charge and then into a main
outlet.
Open the contact bow (13) by pressing the release
button (14). After shaving, switch the shaver off and
place it upside down into the Clean&Charge. The
pivoting head must not be locked (switch «head
lock» position down)
• Select the operation mode by toggling with the
mode selector (15):
clean (about 15 min)
clean + charge (about 75 min)
charge (about 60 min)
The corresponding lights will come on.

• Slide down the contact bow to connect the shaver
and to start the selected program.
If no program is selected, the default function
«clean» will be started.
• Do not interrupt a running program, as it leaves the
shaver wet and not fit for use. If interruption is need-
ed nonetheless, press the release button.
•After a program has finished, the corresponding light
will go out. If later on, and when in charging mode,
the charging light of the shaver comes on again. This
indicates that the shaver is being recharged to
maintain its full capacity. Prior to the next shave,
press the release button to release the shaver.
• When the «cartridge» light starts flashing, the
remaining fluid in the cartridge is sufficient for ap-
proximately 5 more cleaning cycles. After these
5 cycles, the cleaning performance will be reduced
and the car-tridge has to be replaced.
•When the «cartridge» light illuminates constantly, the
cleaning function is locked and a new cartridge has
to be installed. Only then, the next cleaning cycle
can be started.
•Acleaning cartridge should be sufficient for about
30 cleaning cycles. With daily use, the cleaning car-
tridge should be replaced approx. every 4 weeks.
• The hygienic cleaning solution cartridge contains
alcohol which, once opened, will naturally evaporate
slowly into the surrounding air. Each cartridge, if not
used daily, should be replaced after approximately
8 weeks.
Clean the housing from time to time with a damp cloth,
especially the opening where the shaver rests.

Recharge du rasoir
•Pr
emière charge : Utilisez le cordon d’alimentation,
branchez le rasoir sur le secteur en mettant
l’interrupteur en position « off » et laissez-le se
charger pendant au moins 4 heures (la fiche peut
devenir chaude).
• Quand le rasoir est complètement chargé, vous
pouvez vous raser sans le cordon jusqu’à ce qu’il
soit complètement déchargé. Ensuite rechargez-
le pour atteindre la capacité maximale (les recharges
suivantes prendront environ 1 heure).
• Une pleine charge procurera environ 50 minutes de
rasage sans cordon, selon la longeur de la barbe.
Cependant, la capacité maximum des batteries sera
atteinte seulement après plusieurs cycles de charge
et de décharge.
•La gamme idéale de température ambiantes pour la
charge est de 15 °C à 35 °C / 60°F à 95°F.

• Le témoin de charge indique que le rasoir est en
train de se charger. Quand la batterie rechargeable
est complètement rechargée, ce témoin s’éteint.
Si, plus tard, le témoin de charge s’allume de
nouveau, cela signifie que le rasoir est de nouveau
en train de se charger pour maintenir sa pleine
capacité.
Rasage
Bouton de verrouillage
Le rasoir est livré en mode « verrouillage» (position
« lock »). Pousser le bouton de verrouillage vers le haut
avant la première utilisation. Afin d’éviter toute mise en
marche accidentelle du rasoir lorsque vous voyagez,
mettez-le sur la position «lock».

on = Marche Rasage avec la tête pivotante.
Le système de coupe pivotant s'adapte
automatiquement aux contours du visage.

Lorsque les batteries rechargeables sont déchargée,
vous pouvez également vous raser avec le rasoir
branché sur le secteur grâce au cordon d’alimentation
(si le rasoir ne se met pas en marche immédiatement,
chargez-le avec l'interrupteur sur la position «off»
pendant environ 1 minute).

Pour conserver votre rasoir en bon état
Nettoyage automatique
Le chargeur nettoyant Braun Clean&Charge prend soin
de tous les besoins de votre rasoir en terme de
nettoyage et de lubrification. Veuillez vous reporter à la
section B.
Nettoyage manuel
Après chaque rasage, mettez l'interrupteur sur la
position « off ». Appuyez sur le bouton de déclenche-
ment pour retirer la grille du rasoir et la tapoter légère-
ment sur une surface plane.
Utilisez la brosse, nettoyez le bloc de coupe et
l’intérieur de la tête pivotante. Environ toutes les 4
semaines, nettoyez le bloc de coupe avec des agents
nettoyants Braun.
Si votre peau est très sèche et que vous constatiez
une performance diminuée du rasoir, mettez une goutte
d’huile à machine légère sur la grille du rasoir.
Ne pas rincer le rasoir sous l’eau du robinet ni le
plonger dans l’eau.
Remplacement des pièces du rasoir
La grille et le bloc de coupe de votre rasoir sont des
pièces de précision qui s‘usent à la longue. Le
remplacement de la grille et du bloc de coupe tous les
18 mois augmente l’efficacité de rasage de 25%.*
(Grille et bloc de coupe: pièce n˚ 6000)

comparent un rasage avec des pièces neuves à un

Conseils d'utilisation pour un rasage parfait
• Prévoir une période de transition de 14 à 21 jours
pour permettre à la barbe de s’adapter au nouveau
système de rasage.
• Il est recommandé de se raser avant de se laver
étant donné que la peau enfle légèrement après la
toilette.
•Tenir le rasoir à angle droit (90°) de la peau.
• Étirer la peau et raser dans le sens opposé de la
pousse des poils.
•Pour un rasage optimal, remplacer la grille et le bloc
de coupe du rasoir tous les 18 mois, ou lorsque les
pièces sont usées.

Maintenir la batterie en bon état
Afin de maintenir la capacité optimale des batteries
rechargeables, il est nécessaire de laisser le rasoir se
décharger complètement tous les six mois environ, lors
de l’utilisation courante.
Puis rechargez-le de nouveau à pleine capacité.
Ceci régénère la batterie rechargeable.

Avis environnemental
L’appareil est muni des batteries à l’hydrure de nickel.
Ces batteries ne contient aucun métal lourd toxique.
Cependant, pour les besoins de recyclage des matières
premières, ne pas jeter cet appareil dans les ordures
