[APPLY]:
a. After the coffee is grind to your portafilter, start by placing the leveller (Fig 2.0) facing
down towards the portafilter.
b. Do not apply strength. Instead let the Tamp’s weight sits in by itself. Slowly twist the
Tamp clockwise to allow it to start levelling and distribute the coffee evenly in the
portafilter.
c. Remove the leveller from the portafilter. If the coffee bed sits level & even on the
portafilter, proceed to start tamping. If not, further increase the height of the leveller.
d. Flip the Tamp to the tamper side and place the tamper (Fig 2.0) facing down towards the
portafilter.
e. Use both hand and compress the Tamp to the portafilter. Compress the coffee bed until
the ring ledge (Fig 2.1) touches your portafilter.
f. The height of your tamper plays a very important role here. Do make further adjustment
of your tamper’s height until you achieve the right amount of tamp with the ring ledge
touching the portafilter every time.
