1. Battery & first use
1.1 First checks
Make sure to check the state of charge of the
battery before you start your first ride. Batte-
ries are best stored with half (or less) charge
so it’s pretty common that you have to charge
the battery before your first ride.
Push the button on the battery to see the
state of charge. The amount of LED’s will show
you the actual state.
■Please note: a battery is only fully
charged when the LED on the charger
shows green. Always inspect your battery
on damage and make sure not to drop
your battery on the floor. Do not use a
damaged battery. When in doubt, go see
a specialist.
1.2 The battery charger
When you connect the battery to the charger
a red LED should lit. This LED keeps red until
the battery is fully charged. Then the LED will
turn green. The charger stops charging when
the LED turns green. We kindly advise you to
remove the charger when ready.
■CAUTION: when all battery LED’s are
lit this does not have to mean the battery
is fully charged. Only when the charger
shows green the battery is fully charged.
Since a battery is a wearing part it will take
longer to charge a battery the older it gets.
Just like your smartphone. The best result is
achieved when charging around 21 degrees
“room temperature” It could take 4-6 hours for
a battery to get fully charged. The older the
battery is the longer it will take.
Tip: Batteries will wear the least when used
between 80-20% state of charge.

NL
- 5
1.4 Battery do’s and don’ts
■The state of charge LED’s show a % of the
current state of charge: 4 LED’s is 25% per
LED.
■When only 1 LED is lit you’d better charge
first.
■Various displays show a more accurate
state of charge.
■You can save a lot of battery power by lau-
nching in a lower gear and using a lower
power assistant level.
■When building up speed you should chan-
ge gears along with the speed to achieve
the most efficient momentum.
■Always avoid stop and go’s in a higher gear
level.
■When cycling with headwind or when
climbing it’s better to keep your cadence
higher.
■Try to avoid to empty the battery comple-
tely as this will cause extra wear.
■We advise to charge your battery when
the state of charge is below 20-30%. This
will reduce wear and provide you the best
riding conditions.
■Batteries are best kept dry and ventilated
with a temperature of about 20 degrees
■Avoid leaving the battery on the charger
for a longer period.
■Avoid leaving the battery exposed in sunny
conditions
■When you don’t use the bike it’s advised
to charge the battery to 60% at least once
per two months.
■You can always charge the battery. It does
not harm to charge more often or when
the battery is already at 50%.
■When temperature drops, also the battery
performance will drop. Best efficiency is
around 10-20 degrees °C. Also charging will
take longer. Performance can even drop to
30% decrease.

1.5 Battery safety instructions
Read all safety rules and instructions. Failure
to observe the safety instructions and instruc-
tions could result in electric shock, fire and/or
serious injury.
■Keep all safety rules and instructions for
future reference.
■The term “battery” used in this manual
refers to both standard batteries (batteries
attached to the bicycle frame) and rack-ty-
pe batteries (battery mounted in the rack)
unless the type is expressly stated.
■Remove the battery from the e-bike before
carrying out any work (e.g. inspection,
repair, assembly, maintenance, chain work,
etc.) on the e-bike, transport it or store it by
car or aircraft. There is a risk of injury if the
e-bike system is accidentally activated.
■Do not open the battery. There is a risk of
short circuit.
■Opening the battery will void any warranty
claims. Protect the battery against heat (eg
also from continuous irradiation from the
sun), fire and immersion in water. Do not
store or use the battery near hot or flam-
mable objects. There is a risk of explosion.
■Avoid touching the unused battery with
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and
other small metal objects that can cause
bridging of the contacts.
■Short circuit between the battery contacts
can cause burns or fire. Any warranty
claims will lapse in the event of damage
caused by a short circuit. If used incorrect-
ly, liquid may leak from the battery.
■Avoid contact with it. In case of accidental
contact, rinse with water. In addition, if
the liquid gets in the eyes, seek medical
attention. Leaked battery fluid can cause
skin irritation and burns.
■Vapors may occur if the battery is da-
maged or misused. Provide fresh air and
consult a doctor in case of complaints. The
vapors may irritate the respiratory system.
■Only charge the battery with original
chargers. Fire hazards cannot be ruled out
when using non-original chargers.
■Only use the battery in combination with
your Brinckers bicycle. This is the only way
to protect the battery against dangerous
overload.
■Only use original batteries approved by the
manufacturer for your e-bike. Using other
batteries can lead to injury and fire hazard.
When using other batteries, Brinckers
accepts no liability and no warranty.
■Read the operating instructions for your
e-bike and observe these regulations and
instructions.
■Keep the battery out of the reach of
children.

2. Maintenance & cleaning
To achieve the best performace, it is
recommended to get your bike checked
by your Brinckers dealer regularly (at
least once a year). Inbetween the yearly
checkups, it is recommended to perform
small checkups yourself. Below you will
find advice given to keep your bike in
good shape:
Monthly
■The fork headset (below the handlebar),
make sure it's tightened.
■Tires: is the reflective strip on the tires still
clean and clearly visible?
■Tires: are the tires in good condition and
on the recommended pressure?
■Pedals & cranks: Are the pedals and
cranks securely fastened to the bottom
bracket?
■Brakes: are the brakes fully working? Are
the cables undamaged and still attached
properly?
■Spokes: are they still fastened properly?
And are the wheels still steady and not
swinging?
■Lighting: is it still working accordingly?
■Wheels: is the lever of the quick release
hub and shaft nuts of the wheels still
properly attached?
■Saddle and stem: are they still properly
attachted in the frame? The safety marking
should not be visible.
Below you will find some tips to consider
when cleaning:
■Spray the bike with a garden hose and dry
it with a piece of dry cloth.
■Use liquid soap in lukewarm or warm
water.
■Avoid using a high-pressure washer, the
water spray is too powerful and can remo-
ve essential oils!
■After cleaning, treat the lacquer with liquid
wax.
■Lubricate the chrome lightly with polishing
oil.
Yearly
Take your bike to a service partner for an
extensive check every year.

3. Warranty
1. Warranty/ maintenance
Defects in the product that are demonstrably
traceable to a material and/or production
fault and which occur within the following
warranty periods shall be recovered free of
charge by the seller in accordance with the
following conditions. The following warranty
terms apply:
■Six years on the frame;
■Two years on the front fork
(with suspension);
■Two years on the drive system;
■Two years on the battery pack;
■Two years on the steering control unit;
■Two years on all the remainding parts,
except for parts that are subject to wear
and tear.
The aforementioned time limits shall com-
mence on the day of delivery of the product.
2. The warranty claim does not apply
to shortcomings caused by:
■Necessary periodic checkups/maintenance;
■Repairs or replacements of parts due to
normal wear and tear;
■Battery wear: a battery is one product sub-
ject to wear and whose capacity decreases
in the over time. Therefore apply to batte-
ries the following conditions to qualify for
warranty:
■With new delivery, warranty applies if the
battery has a capacity of less than 95%.
■Warranty applies after 1 year of use the
battery has a capacity of less than 80%.
■Warranty applies after 2 years of use the
battery has a capacity of less than 65%.
■If a 3 year warranty is provided warranty
applies if the battery has a capacity of less
than 55%
■Please understand to read the battery
via the display or a service tool is not the
correct capacity. The shown capacity will
be lower than reality because a portion
of capacity is used for functioning of the
system, such as lighting, controller and
display. The capacity can only be correct-
ly determined by a professional battery
capacity tester.
■In addition, the battery should be treated
according to the manual to be eligible for
warranty. for example: reduced battery
capacity due to deep discharge (as the
battery was left empty for a long time) is
excluded from the warranty.
■External damage such as scratches and
dents;
■Defects caused by climatic influences,
such as disintegration of lacquer, corrosion
and/or rust formation;

NL
- 9
■Defects caused by lack of maintainte-
nance in a timely, accurate and/or regular
manner, in accordance with this manual
(a demonstration of such maintenance
should be possible);
■Defects caused by improper use (e.g.
heavy load);
■Modifications or repairs carried out by
persons not authorized to do so;
■A product used for business purposes;
■Exceeding construction speed. The speed
to which the bicycle continues to support
may deviate by up to 10% from the legally
applicable speed limit from 25 km/h.
■Exceeding total weight (bike + rider + lug-
gage) of 140kg. For E-bikes a total weight of
120kg is applied. Front and/or Rear carriers
have their own prescribed maximum load,
the value is indicated on the part itself.
Under normal circumstances the following
applies: the maximum load of the rear
carrier: 25kg. Maximum load for the front
carrier: 10kg.
3. For a valid claim on the warranty, you must
report the defects to the seller as soon as pos-
sible, to a maximum of 14 days after discovery.
You must provide the seller with the original
proof of purchase. Furthermore, the seller
must be allowed to inspect the bike.
4. For recovered parts the remaining warranty
period applies (there will be no new warranty
period).
5. If no valid appeal can be made on the
warranty, the costs of repair will be borne by
the buyer. Before proceeding to repair, the
seller will inform the buyer of the costs and
consent with the buyer prior to carrying out
the warranty.
