Seats and Seat Controls
This section tells you about the seats -- how to adjust
them, and also about reclining front seatbacks, and head
restraints.

Manual Seat
You can losecontrol of the vehicle if you tryto
adjusta manualdriver’sseat while the vehicleis
moving. The sudden movement could startle and
confuse you,
or make you push apedalwhen
you don’t want to. Adjust thedriver’sseat only

Move the lever underthe front seat to unlock it. Slide
the seat to where you want it. Then release the lever and
try to move the seat with your body, to make sure the

body. Instead, it willbe in

of you. Inacrashyou could do into it,
receiving neck or otherinjuries.

lap beltcan't.doitsjob either. Inacrash'the
belt couldgo upover your abdomen. The belt
forces would be there,notat your pelvic bones.
This couldcause serious internal injuries.
For properprotectionwhen the vehicleis in
motion, have the seatbackupright. Then sit well
back
in the seat and wear you afety belt
properly.
Head Restraints

Slide the head restraint up or down so that the top of the
restraint
is closest to the top of your ears.
This position reduces the chance
of a neck injury in a
crash.

Front Seatback Latches (Two-Door Models)
The front seatback folds forward to let people get into
the back seat.
Your seatback will move back and forth freely, unless
you come to a sudden stop. Then it will lock in place.
There's one time
the seatback may not fold without
some help
from you. That's if your vehicle is parked
going downa fairly steep hill.
To fold
