INTENDED USE
This product is designed for carrying up to
two children in a cargo bike. This product
is intended exclusively for installation in
Butchers & Bicycles cargo bikes.
Max. total load: 44 kg
Recommended weight, each child*: 9–22 kg
Recommended child age: 1–6 years
* It is permissible to carry a single child
weighing more than 22 kg, but less than 44 kg
(max. total load)
Consult a paediatrician before carrying
children younger than 1 year. The children
must be capable of sitting unaided for at
least as long as the intended cycle journey.
Ensure initially and re-check from time to
time that the child's weight and size do not
exceed the maximum capacity of the seat.
DANGER Use other than described in
this manual can lead to serious injury!
PARTS OF THE CHILD SEAT
Familiarise yourself with the parts of the
child seat. The numbers below are referred to
throughout this user manual.

INSTALLATION
Installing the seat in the cargo bike
See illustration B
Remove the seat cushion (3) from the
child seat to expose the mounting holes.
Place the child seat on top of the raised
flat surface inside the Cargo Box and line
up the mounting holes in the seat with
matching holes in the box.
Insert a bolt into each of the 6 holes, each
with a rubber and a metal washer (the
rubber washer should be touching the
child seat shell)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Securing a child in the seat
See illustrations A, C
Open the 5 point buckle (8) and the chest
clip(6). Seat your child so that the 5 point
buckle (8) is in the centre of the body.
Put the shoulder pads (4) on each side of
the child’s neck and bring the two male
ends of the 5 point buckle around the hips.
Close the 5 point buckle and the chest clip.
When riding, close the 5 point buckle
on any seatbelt which is not in use to avoid
noise.
Adjusting the seatbelts

To loosen the seatbelt lift and pull up on the
adjustment buckles (c)
To tighten the seatbelt pull on the adjustment
straps (d)
Slide the chest clip to the child’s armpit level
or as close as possible (a)
If necessary, the height of the 5 point buckle
can be adjusted up or down (b)
Make sure the seatbelt is tight around
the hips and chest. You must tighten the
seatbelt if it is so loose that you can pinch
the straps between your fingers.
Reach underneath the cargo bike and
thread a rubber washer, a metal washer
and a locking nut onto each of the 6
mounting bolts (the rubber washer should
be touching the bottom of the box)
Tighten each bolt using a 10 mm
wrench (12) and a 4 mm hex key (11).
Recommended tightening torque 5–7 Nm.
Re-install seat cushion.
The child seat is backwards compatible
with all Butchers & Bicycles MK-E and
MK cargo bikes. If your bike didn’t come
with the 6 mounting holes, contact an
autorised Butchers & Bicycles dealer for
help with installation.
DANGER Only use this child seat
with Butchers & Bicycles MK-E and MK
models.
DANGER Check whether all parts of
the bike function correctly with the seat
mounted.
Removing the seat from the cargo bike
Remove the seat cushion.
Using a 4 mm hex key and a 10 mm
wrench, undo each of the 6 mounting
bolts.
Reach underneath the cargo bike and
remove washers and nuts.
Remove bolts from the seat.
Re-install the seat cushion and store all
bolts, washers and nuts for future use.

DANGER Ensure that the seatbelts
are not loose or able to become trapped in
any moving parts, particularly the wheels.
This applies also when the cargo bike is
ridden without a child in the seat.
DANGER Always use the seatbelts
and ensure that the children are restrained
in the seat.
MAINTENANCE
Removing a seatbelt from the child seat
Remove both cushions from the child seat
to expose the seatbelt attachment points.
Remove each seatbelt end from the slots at
its attachment point (For the strap holding
the 5 point buckle, you will also have to
remove it from the plastic adjustment
buckle).
Reinstalling seatbelts
Option 1—Two seatbelts side by side

Remove the child seat from the cargo bike.
Remove the cushions (2),(3) from the seat.
Install the ends of each seatbelt in
the correct locations according to the
illustration i.e. install the seatbelt end
marked (a) into the location (a), using the
technique shown in detail (a), and so on.
Ensure that the seatbelt is securely
installed: pull on each of the 5 attachment
points and check that the straps do not
loosen as you do so.
Replace the cushions.
Option 2 — One seatbelt in the middle
Remove the child seat from the cargo bike.
Remove the cushions (2),(3) from the seat.
Install the ends of the seatbelt in the
correct locations according to the
illustration D.
Ensure that the seatbelt is securely
installed: pull on each of the 5 attachment
points and check that the straps do not
loosen as you do so.
Replace the cushions.
Store the unused seatbelt for future use.
Reinstalling cushions
The cushions are attached with velcro for easy
removal and re-installation.
When reinstalling the cushions, ensure that:
the seat cushion (3) protrudes 1 cm in
front of the seat shell—this ensures best
comfort for the underside of the children's
knees.
the top edge of the back cushion (2) is in
the same height as the slot where shoulder
straps emerge from the shell.
Cleaning
Clean the seat shell and cushions with
lukewarm soapy water only. The seatbelts can
be washed in a washing machine if necessary.
Remove the seatbelts from the seat, place them
in a washing bag and wash at 40° with little or
no detergent. Air dry. Do not tumble dry.
CAUTION Do not use abrasive
substances or solvents to clean any part of
the child seat. Do not paint or apply decals
to the child seat.
SAFETY WARNINGS
DANGER Ensure that it is not
possible for any part of the child's body
or clothing to come into contact with any
moving part of the cargo bike. Re-check as
the child grows.
DANGER Ensure that there are no
sharp objects within the children’s reach.
Do not carry any items in the bicycle’s
cargo box that could cause injury to the
children in the event of a crash.
DANGER Children in the seat must
be clothed more warmly than the rider and
protected from rain.
DANGER Check the seat temperature
before seating your child, especially on
hot, sunny days.
DANGER Do not attach additional
luggage to the child seat. Place any items
in the cargo box, or on a suitable carrier on
the rear of the cargo bike.
DANGER Do not modify the seat.
DANGER The cycle may behave
differently with children in the seat,
particularly with regard to balance,
steering and braking. Practice cycling
with children in a safe area outside public
roads.
DANGER Never leave the cycle
parked with a child in the seat unattended.
DANGER Do not use the seat if any
part is broken. In case of damage to any
part of the seat, contact an authorised
Butchers & Bicycles dealer to order a
replacement.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
Before using this product, check whether
there are any laws specific to the carrying
of children in seats attached to cargo bikes
that apply in your country.
Always follow local regulations regarding
the use of helmets for children and the
rider when cycling.
