Maintaining Your CD5300
•CD5300 requires no periodic maintenance and has no user serviceable parts inside.
•To keep it clean use only a soft cloth and never use any solvents or abrasives.
Dust and fingerprints may be removed with a soft cloth moistened only with a few drops of water.
•The power cord should be removed whenever the unit will be unused for an extended period.

Important Safety Instructions
CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT OPEN THE UNIT. NO USER
SERVICABLE PARTS INSIDE: REFER SERVICING TO QUALIFIED SERVICE PERSONNEL.
Precautions for use
•Check that the operating voltage of your unit is within the range of your local
power. CD5300 requires AC voltages from 100 to 240 Volt. Connecting to a too
high voltage causes severe damage and may even cause fire, electrical shock
or explosion!
•Warning: CD5300 has high voltages inside! Do not open!
•Should any liquid or solid object fall into the cabinet, unplug the unit and have it
checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further.
•Sometimes in summer you have faults in your local power supply due to overloading.
Unplug the unit from the wall outlet when there is a thunderstorm.
•Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if it is not to be used for an extended period of
time. To disconnect the power cord, pull it out by grasping the plug. Never pull the
cord itself. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
•Unplug the unit from the wall outlet before connecting other units or opening the unit.
•If there is any break or cut in the AC-line cord, unplug it from the wall outlet and
replace it by a new one!
Location
•Do not install the unit in a location near heat sources such as radiators or air ducts, or
in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, mechanical vibration or shock.
Leave space around this unit for heat dissipation.
Condensation
•When this unit is brought into a warm room from previously cold surroundings or when
the room temperature rises sharply, condensation may form inside, and the unit may
not be able to attain its full performance. In cases like this, allow the unit to stand for
about an hour or raise the room temperature gradually.
Fuses
•The fuses are inside of the unit and should be changed by qualified personnel only.
Caution
•Changes or modifications to this equipment not expressly approved by CEC Co., Ltd.
for compliance will void the user’s warranty.

XPower - Power switch. Turns the unit on / off.
YPhones - 6.3mm standard headphone terminal and headphone volume control.
The outputs on the backside of the unit are not affected by the volume control.
ZDAC Options - The LEDs indicate the options of the DAC circuit, selected by the remote control:
The digital filter can be set by "FILTER" to the linear amplitude "FLAT" option
or to the time and pulse optimized "SOFT" option.
"DITHER" randomly changes the least significant Bit for more openness.
"ǻȈ-FS" offers the choice for "32", "64" or "128" times oversampling.
[Open / Close - Tray open and close
\Music Skip - Jump to next or previous track
]Stop - Finish music play
^Play / Pause - Starts music reproduction. During play toggles between play and pause.

YRCA - Unbalanced standard analog output for connecting an amplifier.
Balanced XLR connections are first choice!
DIGITAL OUTPUT
ZTOSLINK - Optical digital output for Toslink optical fibre connection
[COAXIAL - Standard digital (SPDIF) output. The cable impedance should be 75 Ohm.
\AES/EBU - Balanced digital output according to the AES/EBU standard. The highest
quality link to connect CD5300 with other compatible digital audio device.
The cable impedance should be 110 Ohm.
Pinning: 1=Ground, 2=Hot, 3=Cold.
AC-POWER
]AC-POWER - AC Power connector, needs 3-pole cable including ground connector.
CD5300 handles all AC-Voltages from 100 to 240 Volt, 50 or 60 Hz.
ACOUSSTONE Bottom Panel and Spikes
•CD5300’s bottom panel is made out of Acoustone for enhanced mechanical quietness.
•For best results in discharging mechanical reso-
nances CD5300 uses Spikes. For safe transportation
the pointed Spike is replaced by a plastic part.
•For best results replace the plastic part by the sup-
plied metal tip and place CD5300 on a flat surface.
•For protecting the surface use the supplied washers.
