INTRODUCTION
The C2G™ USB to Serial DB9 adapter is designed to add a serial port to a computer. This would be used for connecting serial devices such as cellphones, PDAs, digital cameras,
modems, or ISDN terminal adapters through your USB port. The adapter has a data transfer rate of over 230 kbps. Since the adapter uses no IRQs, there are no IRQ conflicts, and
it is ideal for when you need many serial devices attached to your PC. This adapter also frees your existing RS-232 port for other uses. It is recommended that you read this
guide thoroughly before use, and retain for future reference.

Der C2G™ USB zu Seriell DB9-Adapter ist dafür gedacht, einen seriellen Anschluss zu einem Computer hinzuzufügen. Dieser kann für das Anschließen serieller Geräte wie
Handys, PDAs, Digitalkameras, Modems oder ISDN-Terminal-Adapter über den USB-Anschluss verwendet werden. Der Adapter hat eine Datenübertragungsrate von über 230

INTRODUCTION
L'adaptateur de prise USB pour port série DB9 C2G™ est conçu pour ajouter un port série à un ordinateur. Ce dernier permettrait de connecter des périphériques en série comme
des téléphones cellulaires, des PDA, des appareils photo numériques, des modems ou des adaptateurs de terminal NRIS par le port USB. La vitesse de transfert de cet
adaptateur est de plus de 230 kbit/s. L'adaptateur n'utilisant aucune demande d'interruption, il n'existe aucun conflit de ce type et c'est l'idéal lorsque vous avez besoin de

De C2G™ USB naar serieel DB9 adapter is ontworpen om een seriële poort aan een computer toe te voegen. Dit wordt gebruikt voor het aansluiten van seriële apparaten zoals

INTRODUCCIÓN
El adaptador DB9 de puerto USB a puerto serie de C2G™ está diseñado para incorporar un puerto serie a un ordenador. Este puerto ha de servir para conectar dispositivos con

DEVICE INSTALLATION
Step 1
Insert the CD into your CD-ROM. The CD should auto-run and a
menu should appear. Click the relevant product button, and then
click the “Install Driver” button. Follow the on screen prompts until
the installation wizard is finished. Click on the button labeled
“Finish”
Step 2
Reboot the computer.
Step 3
Connect the adapter to an available USB port on the
computer.
Step 4
Connect the proper serial cable from the DB9 port created by
the adapter to the serial port on your serial device.
To Verify Successful Installation in Windows®98SE/ME
1. From the main desktop, double-click My Computer, double-click
Control Panel, System, then Device Manager.
2. You should see a category called Ports (COM & LPT), and a
device called USB to Serial Port (COM x) (or something similar)
where the x represents the COM number assigned to the port by
Windows.
To Verify Successful Installation in Windows®2000
1. From the main desktop, right-click My Computer, select
Properties. Click the Hardware tab, then Device Manager.
2. You should see a category called Ports (COM & LPT) and a
device called Prolific USB-to-Serial (COM x) (or something
similar) where the x represents the COM number assigned to the
port by Windows.
To Verify Successful Installation in Windows®XP Windows
Vista and Windows 7
1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel, then System. (Make
sure you are in Classic View). Click the Hardware tab, then Device
Manager.
2. You should see a category called Ports (COM & LPT) and a
device called Prolific USB-to-Serial (COM x) (or something
similar) where the x represents the COM number assigned to the
port by Windows.

Step 1

INSTALLATIE APPARATUUR
Stap 1
Plaats de CD in uw CD-ROM speller. De CD start vanzelf op en
er verschijnt een menu. Klik op de relevante productknop en klik
vervolgens op de knop “Install Driver”. Volg de aanwijzingen op

Paso 1
Introduzca el CD en el lector de CD-ROM. El CD tiene que
arrancar automáticamente: aparecerá entonces en la pantalla un
menú. Pulse el botón del producto correcto y después el botón

y un dispositivo llamado USB to Serial Port (COM x) (o algo
parecido); la x representa el número COM que Windows ha
asignado al puerto.
Cómo comprobar si se ha instalado correctamente el dispositivo
en Windows® 2000
1. En el escritorio del ordenador haga doble clic sobre Mi PC y

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you find that the adapter is not communicating after
installing the driver try these suggestions.
Many serial devices and applications cannot work on a COM
port higher than 4. If the COM port is higher than 4, you
should change it to a lower number. You can do this through
the Device properties.
To change this COM number assigned, go to Device
Manager under Ports and find the device, as above. Right-
click that device, select Properties, then click the
Port Settings tab. Click the Advanced Button. You will see a
box in the lower left corner to assign a different COM port to
the adapter.
Please note this procedure only works for Win ME, 2000, XP,
Vista and 7 users.
If you cannot get the serial device to communicate, make
sure that you are using the proper serial cable for your
device, and that the settings on the Properties tab match the
ones required for your serial device.
Also, under Advanced Settings (Advanced button, above) try
backing down the sliders or disable the FIFO buffers
(uncheck the box) altogether.
Finally, if you still are having communication issues, contact
your serial device manufacturer. If our adapter shows
correctly in Device Manager (per above), it is installed
correctly and there is nothing further we can do. The problem
is with your serial device or its software settings.
Removing the Drivers
To remove the drivers, go to Add/Remove Programs
(Programs and Features in Vista and 7) in Control Panel, and
select PL-2303 USB-to-Serial.
FEHLERBEHEBUNG

Wenn der COM-Anschluss eine höhere Nummer als 4 hat,

périphérique en série, s'assurer d'utiliser le câble série
approprié pour le périphérique, et que les paramètres de
l'onglet Propriétés correspondent à ceux exigés par le
périphérique en série.
Dans Paramètres avancés (touche Avancé ci-dessus) essayer
de faire rétrocéder les curseurs ou désactiver toutes les files
d'attente ensemble (en décochant la case).
Enfin, si les problèmes de communication persistent, contacter
le fabricant du périphérique en série. Si notre adaptateur
apparaît correctement dans le Gestionnaire de périphériques
(comme ci-dessus), il est installé correctement et rien d'autre
ne peut être fait. Le problème est dû au périphérique en série
ou à ses paramètres logiciels.
Supprimer les pilotes
Pour supprimer les pilotes, aller sur Ajouter/Supprimer des
programmes (Programmes et fonctions sur Vista et 7) dans le
Panneau de configuration et sélectionner PL-2303 USB-to-
Serial.

Als u het seriële apparaat niet werkend krijgt, zorg er dan voor dat u
de juiste seriële kabel gebruikt voor uw apparaat, en dat de
instellingen in het tabblad Eigenschappen overeenkomen met die die
voor uw seriële apparaat zijn vereist.
Probeer ook onder Geavanceerde Instellingen (knop Geavanceerd,
zie boven) de schuiven omlaag te zetten of de FIFO-buffers (hokje
uitvinken) helemaal uit te zetten.
Tot slot, als u nog steeds communicatieproblemen hebt, neem dan

Vista en 7) in het Configuratiescherm, en kiest u PL-2303 USB-to-
Serial.

Si después de todo sigue teniendo problemas de comunicación,
póngase en contacto con el fabricante del dispositivo en cuestión. Si
se puede ver el adaptador en el Administrador de dispositivos (como
se ha visto anteriormente), está instalado correctamente y no hay
nada más que podamos hacer. El problema está en su dispositivo o
