1. Download and Install Application
On your mobile device, search and install the iCookyCam app from Google Play (Android) or App Store (iOS)
P1.1 –Install iCookyCam App
After the app is installed, open it and select Allow to 2 popup messages below (P1.2 –P1.3). Some of the app
features will be disabled if the app does not have access to your mobile device.

2. Setup the Camera
Step 1: Prepare and Insert Micro SD Card into the Camera
▪Format the micro SD card (Please see Part 8 –Format Micro SD Card)
▪Turn off the camera if it is on (Please see Part 9 - Power OFF Camera)
▪Place the micro SD card upside down then insert it into the micro-SD slot on the back on the camera by
slowly pressing it in until hearing a “click” sound
Notice:
▪To eject the micro SD card from the camera, press on it and slowly release the card
▪Please turn off the camera before insert or pull out the micro SD card to avoid data lost or corruption
▪Class 10 or above micro SD card is recommended
▪Maximum support size of the micro SD card is 64 GB
Step 2: Power ON the Camera
▪For the first time of use, connect the camera to the power adapter via the USB port to turn it on.
Otherwise, press and hold the power button on top of the camera for 2 seconds to turn the camera on
▪Once the camera is on, both the Red & Blue indicators on the back of the camera start to flash for about 60
seconds
▪After the initialization is succeeded, the Blue indicator flashes slowly and the camera starts to record video
automatically
Notice:
▪If the memory card is not inserted, the Red & Blue indicators flash at the same time and no video is
recorded

Step 3: Setup Camera Connection Mode
This camera supports two independent connection modes.
▪IP connection mode: The camera connects to your internet network and you can view the camera’s live
video from anywhere and anytime on your mobile device as long as you have internet access. In this mode,
the camera indicator light is Red.
▪AP connection mode: Your mobile device connects to the camera’s Wi-Fi network and you can only view
the camera’s live video from a short distance (maximum 30 ft). This mode is perfect for outdoor activities
or when there is no internet connection. In this mode, the camera indicator light is Blue.
Please choose a Connection Mode that works best for you and follow the setup instruction right below.
➢Setup IP Connection Mode
On your mobile device, go to Settings and select Wi-Fi. Tap on iCooky_***** from the available networks to
connect your device to the camera’s network (P2.1)
Notice:
▪Try to be close to the camera while setting up the
connection
▪On an Android device, after connect your device to the
camera’s network, you may see a popup window as
below (P2.2). If you see it, tap on it, select the option
“Don’t ask again for this network” then select Yes (P2.3).
This step is important!

Next, open the iCookyCam app on your mobile device. Wait for about 3 seconds and the app will automatically
connect to the camera.
At the prompt message “Do you want to connect the device to the router?”, select Connect (P2.4).
In the Wi-Fi Setting window, select your Wi-Fi network name, enter the correct Wi-Fi password, then select
Connect (P2.5).
The app starts to setup the connection between your mobile device and the camera (P2.6). Please wait for
about 90 seconds for the IP Connection Mode setup to complete. After finish, the Red indicator on the back of
the camera flashes slowly.
To start viewing the camera, tap on the camera area (P2.7).
In this IP connection mode, you can view the camera from anywhere as long as your device has WI-FI access.
Notice:
▪If you enter a wrong Wi-Fi password in step P2.5, the setup will fail and the camera will return back to its
default working state (Blue indicator light flashes slowly). Your mobile device now connects back to your
Wi-Fi network. You would need to start the setup again.

Notice:
▪Only 2.4GHz frequency Wi-Fi is supported by this camera
▪Wireless SSID with special characters or WEP security mode or empty Wi-Fi password is not supported by
this app
▪Try to be close to your Wi-Fi router when setting up this camera to improve the stability and success rate
▪In case the setup does not work and you are not sure what to do, please follow the steps in Part 10.3 –
Perform Camera Setup Reset
➢Setup AP Connection Mode
To setup the AP Connection Mode,follow the exact same steps as setting up the IP connection mode above
(P2.1 –P2.4) but when prompted for "Do you want to connect the device to the router?”, Select Cancel instead
(P2.8).
The AP Connection Mode setup is complete. The Blue
indicator on the back of the camera starts to flash slowly.
The camera starts to record videos and store them on the
micro SD card.
Remember that you can only view the camera video from a
short distance in this connection mode.

Notice:
▪To record the live camera video on to your mobile device, tap on the Video On/Off button
▪To capture the live camera picture on to your mobile device, tap on the Snapshot button
▪To change the camera video resolution setting, tap on the Resolution setting button
▪The Night Vision option will turn on automatically when the camera surrounding environment gets dark
▪To view the recorded videos and photos on your mobile device, tap on the icon at the bottom left
corner of the screen. It may take up to 30 minutes for the videos to show up (P3.2.2 –P3.2.3)

3.3 Camera Setting Interface

Notice:
▪Change Camera Password: For your personal privacy, you should change the camera default password
▪Motion Detection Alarm: This feature must be turned on to receive motion detection alert on your mobile
device from the camera
▪Indicator: Use this option to turn on/off the camera operation indicator light
4. Switch Camera Connection Mode
4.1 AP Connection Mode →IP Connection Mode
If the camera is operating in the AP Connection Mode, you can also switch it to the IP Connection Mode by
follow the steps below.
▪Open the iCookyCam app on your mobile device
▪In the main Camera window of the app, tap on the camera area to start it then select the Setting gear icon
at the top right corner (P4.1.1)
▪In the Setting window, tap on the Wi-Fi Setting option (P4.1.2)
▪In the Wi-Fi Setting window, select your Wi-Fi network name, enter the correct Wi-Fi password, then select
Connect (P4.1.3)
▪The app starts to setting up the connection between your mobile device and the camera (P4.1.4) and the
camera restarts for about 90 seconds

▪After finish, the Red indicator on the back of the camera flashes slowly and the camera turns into the IP
Connection Mode
▪To start viewing the camera, tap on the camera area (P4.1.5)

4.2 IP Connection Mode →AP Connection Mode
If the camera is operating in the IP Connection Mode, you can switch it to the AP Connection Mode by follow
the steps below.
▪Long press the Mode button on top of the camera
until the Red indicator light turns off and the Blue
indicator light turns on
▪Open the iCookyCam app on your mobile device
▪In the main Camera window, press and hold on the
camera area until seeing the “Remove the Device?”
popup window. Select Yes to remove the camera

5. Operation State Switching
Belong with the AP and IP Connection Modes, this camera has 4 different operating states. Each operating state
has its own benefit as described below. By default, the camera starts with the Full-time Video Working State (5.1).
5.1 Full-time Video Working State
▪In this state the Blue or Red indicator light flashes
▪The camera records video continuously and saves the video onto the micro SD card
▪When the micro SD card is full, old video file is overwritten by the new one
▪Choose this working state when you want to do both video recording and real-time video remote viewing
5.2 Full-time Video Standby State
▪In this state the Blue or Red indicator light stays solid, not flashing
▪The camera does not record video
▪Choose this working state when you only want to do real-time video remote viewing
5.3 Motion Detection Standby State
▪In this state both Red and Blue indicator lights stay solid, not flashing
▪The camera does not record video
▪The camera only starts to record video when it detects moving objects and it switches itself to the Motion
Detection Working State (5.4) automatically
▪Choose this working state when you want to do real-time remote viewing and only want the camera to
record video when it detects moving objects
5.4 Motion Detection Working State
▪Blue indicator stays on and Red indicator flashes if the camera is in the AP Connection Mode OR vice versa
if the camera is in the IP Connection Mode
▪The camera records video for 3 minutes then stops if no more moving object is detected. And it also
switches itself back to the Motion Detection Standby State (5.3) automatically
Notice:
▪To switch from state (5.1) to state (5.2), press the Power button once
▪To switch from state (5.2) to state (5.3), press the Mode button once
▪To switch from state (5.3) to state (5.2), press the Mode button once
▪To switch from state (5.2) to state (5.1), press the Power button one
▪When the camera is in the state (5.4), you can force it to switch to state (5.2) right away by pressing the
Mode button once

7. Add Additional Camera Manually
ONLY use the methods below to connect additional devices to the camera.
Prerequisite: The camera is already connected to your Wi-Fi network and it is operating in the IP connection mode
Method 1 - Search for Camera Under the Same Wi-Fi Network
▪Connect your other device to the same Wi-Fi network of the camera
▪Open the iCookyCam app on this device
▪Tap the “+” sign to add a new camera then select “Been connected to the router” (P7.1.1 –P7.1.2)
▪In the Lan Search window, wait for a few seconds and all the available cameras will show up (P7.1.3)

▪Select the camera that you want to add, enter the camera password ok123456 then select the ✔mark icon
to add the camera (P7.1.4 –P7.1.5)

Method 2 - Scanning QR Code for Camera
▪On your main mobile device which already connected to the camera, open the iCookyCam app
▪Find the camera that you want to add to the new device and select the Share button on the lower right
corner to generate a camera QR code (P7.2.1 –P7.2.2)
▪On the new device, open the iCookyCam app and select option “Been connected to the router”
▪In the Lan Search window, select the QR code scan button in the lower left corner to open the scan window
and scan the generated camera QR code on the main device (P7.2.3 –P7.2.4)
▪Enter the camera password ok123456 then select the ✔mark icon to add the camera (P7.2.5)

Method 3 - Manual Input Camera
▪On the new device, open the iCookyCam app
▪Select the “+” sign to add a new camera then select “Been connected to the router” (P7.3.1)
▪In the Lan Search window, select the manual add button in the lower right corner (P7.3.2)
▪Enter the correct device UID and password in the Add Device window to add the camera (P7.3.3)

8. Format Micro SD Card
▪Insert the micro SD card into a micro SD card adapter (P8.1)
▪Insert the micro SD card adapter into a computer that has a SD card adapter slot (P8.2)

▪On the computer, open Windows Explorer and find the drive letter for your SD card (P8.3)
▪Right click, and when the menu appears Click Format
▪Leave everything as default and click Start to format the card (P8.4)
P8.3 –Locate Micro SD Card Drive
P8.4 –Start Format the Micro SD Card
▪A warning will appear notifying you that all of the data on the drive will be erased (P8.5)
▪Click OK to continue to format your card
P8.5 –Click OK to Format the Card
9. Power OFF Camera
▪Disconnect the camera from the power charger
▪Press and hold the Power button on top of the camera until seeing both Red & Blue indicator lights flashing.
The Red & Blue indicators will flash for 7 times and the camera would turn off
OR use the provided pin. Press and hold the reset hole for 3 seconds to force the camera to power off
10. Camera Factory Reset / Password Reset / Setup Reset
10.1 Perform Camera Factory Reset
▪Long press the Mode button (M) on top of the camera for about 10 seconds to factory reset the camera
▪After reset, the camera will operate in the Full-time Video Working State (Part 5.1)
10.2 Perform Camera Password Reset
Method 1:
▪Plug the camera into the USB charger. If the camera is off and you plug it into the charger, please wait for
about 60 seconds until the camera is fully on
▪Press the power button on top of the camera once
▪Press and hold the Power button again until the Red & Blue indicators start flashing. The camera will restart
and restore its default password
Method 2:
▪The camera password can also be reset by going to the camera setting in the iCookyCam app and select
“Restore default password” (Please see Part 3.3 –Camera Setting Interface)

10.3 Perform Camera Setup Reset
When the camera setup is messed up and you are not sure what to do. Please follow the steps below to reset
the camera setup.
▪On your mobile device, open the iCookyCam app and remove the camera if one exists (P10.3.1)
▪If your camera has Red indicator light flashing, long press the Mode button on top of the camera until the
Red indicator light turns off and the Blue indicator light turns on
▪If your mobile device is connecting to the camera network, go to Settings, select Wi-Fi and forget the
camera network connection (P10.3.2 –P10.3.3). Your mobile device should start to connect back to your
Wi-Fi network
▪At this point, you can start to setup the camera again by following Part 2 –Setup the Camera
P10.3.1 –Remove Camera
P10.3.2 –Choose Camera Network
P10.3.3 –Forget Camera Network
11. Camera Operation Notices
▪Please strictly abide by the relevant laws and decrees of the state and do not use this product for any illegal
purposes!
▪Please format the SD card for the first time of using and every 3 months
▪Use qualified charger, input voltage is 5V/1A
▪Do not touch the camera lens and image sensor directly. To clean them, do that gently with a dry soft fabric
and alcohol
▪Avoid direct light such as strong sunlight, otherwise the camera image will be very bright and the life of the
photosensitive sensor will be reduced
▪Avoid placing this camera near a strong electromagnetic radiation
▪Avoid placing this camera in an extreme working condition such as moisture, dust, too hot or too cold. The
operating temperate of this camera is 23oF –122oF (-5oC –50oC)
▪Do not block the ventilation around the camera when it operates to prevent overheating
▪The night vision is turned on automatically when the environment is dark
▪The camera’s battery is insufficient if the Yellow indicator is on when the camera is plugged in to the charger.
The camera’s battery is full if the Yellow indicator is off when the camera is plugged in
▪It takes about 4 hours to full charge the camera with the power adapter and about 8 hours with the USB
charger cable
▪Recorded videos and photos on the camera can be transferred to computer by using the USB charger cable
