TheCX80Cisahydraulicexcavator.Itconsistsofanundercarriagettedwithtracksandaturntablebearingwhich
supportstheupperstructureframe.Theupperstructureframesupportstheattachment,atthefrontendofthemachine,
plustheengine,hydraulicsandcab.Whentheoperatorworksthecontrols,theengine-drivenpumpdelivershydraulic
uidtothecontrolvalves.Thecontrolvalvesdistributethehydraulicuidtothevariouscylindersandhydraulicmotors
employed.Acoolingsystemmaintainsthehydraulicuidatnormaloperatingtemperature.

Neveroperatethemachineundertheinuenceofalcohol

Whendiggingorusingground-engagingattachments,be
awareofburiedcables.Contactlocalutilitiestodetermine

Hydraulicoilordieselfuelleakingunderpressurecan

inneutralorparklockposition.
Starttheengineonlyfromtheoperator’sseat.Ifyou
bypassthesafetystartswitch,theenginecanstartwith
thetransmissioningear.Donotconnectorshortacross
terminalsonthestartersolenoid.Attachjumpercables
asdescribedinthemanual.Startingingearmaycause
deathorseriousinjury.
Alwayskeepwindows,mirrors,alllightingcleantopro-
videthebestpossiblevisibilitywhileyouoperatethema-
chine.
Operatecontrolsonlywhenseatedintheoperator’sseat,
exceptforthosecontrolsexpresslyintendedforusefrom
otherlocations.
Beforeyouleavethemachine:
1.Parkthemachineonarm,levelsurface.
2.Lowertheattachmenttotheground.
3.Putallcontrolsinneutralposition.
4.Turnofftheengineandremovethekey.

Unsupportedhydrauliccylinderscanlosepressureand
droptheequipment,causingacrushinghazard.Donot
leaveequipmentinaraisedpositionwhileparkedordur-

Inspecttheelectricalsystemforlooseconnectionsand
