3 • Owner’s manual - Model. CC1212-XLi
• Patented baery rejuvenaon (recondioning) technology: The charger has a unique
and patented rejuvenaon feature which uses high voltage equalising and peak pulse
recondioning to repair sulphated baeries. This feature is fully automac and depends
on the internal impedance of the baery. It also depends on whether the baery is sll
connected in the vehicle.
• Ultra-low power consumpon (ECO Mode).
• Pulse charge for long term maintenance.
• Can be le on 24/7 to ensure your baery is always maintained and fully charged: The
baery charger can be le permanently connected all year round. The intelligent charger
will monitor the baery voltage and will maintain it at peak performance with a special
pulse charge during long term maintenance. Please note that even if the baery charger
incorporates this feature Century Baeries does not recommend leaving the baery
charger connected 24/7.
• Short circuit and reverse polarity protecon.
• Heavy-duty and corrosion-resistant output connectors.
• Crocodile clips / Ring Terminals: It comes with a quick connect y lead and heavy duty,
fully insulated crocodile clip harness and ring terminal harness.
TEMPERATURE & SAFETY PROTECTION:
• INTERNAL OVERHEAT PROTECTION: The charger has a built-in overheat and overload
electronic circuit. This protects the charger from being damaged if overheated or
overloaded and will automacally decrease the charging current. Once the unit’s internal
temperature decreases to a safe level, the charger will resume normal charging.
• SAFETY TIMER PROTECTION: The charger has safety mers for every stage. If the baery
voltage doesn’t reach a certain voltage within a specic me, the unit will stop charging
as it is highly likely that you are aempng to charge a severely discharged or heavily
sulphated baery. If any of the stage’s mes out, the charger will immediately stop
charging in order to protect the baery. This will be indicated with the fault LED ashing
slowly.
• REVERSE POLARITY: The charger has reverse polarity protecon. If the charger output
leads are connected in reverse polarity, the fault LED will come on and the charger will
be disabled. Simply unplug the charger from AC power and then connect the output
leads to the correct polarity.
• SHORT CIRCUIT PROTECTION: The charger will automacally turn o if the output leads
are short circuited and the fault LED will come on. This prevents the charger from being
damaged if the posive and negave crocodile clips or the ring terminals accidentally
touch each other while the charger is turned on.
• ECO MODE: This Century baery charger has a built in ultra-low power consumpon
circuit. If AC power is connected and the baery is disconnected, aer 10 seconds the
charger will automacally go into ECO mode. During this mode the power drawn is less
than 0.36W which totals 0.01kWh per day power consumpon. If AC power is connected
and the baery is connected, once the baery is fully charged and during the long-term
maintenance stage, the total power consumpon is around 0.03kWh per day.
Both the selected Charge rate and Baery type LEDs will ash GREEN to indicate ECO
mode.

STEP 3 - Connect the baery charger to Mains Power (240V AC)
• The charger will automacally start when AC power is connected and switched on.
• IMPORTANT: Please make sure the correct Baery Type and your desired Charge Rate is
selected to suit your baery by pressing the Select Buons within the rst 5 minutes of
charging. For Example do not charge a Gel or AGM type Baery on the SMF [Calcium] Baery
Type seng as this will damage your baery and / or reduce your baery life.
Note: If the Fault Indicator LED illuminates Red, please check your connecons as it is likely that
the Posive and Negave Leads are reversed.
THE CHARGING PROCESS: LEAD ACID (Gel, Calcium SMF, AGM/FLOODED/EFB)
1) Qualicaon - Baery Condion Check
When the charger is rst switched on it checks the baery condion to determine whether the
baery needs recondioning. During this qualicaon process it checks the internal impedance
and inial voltage of the baery and it will determine how much charge current, if any that the
baery will accept.
2) Automac Enhanced Baery Rejuvenaon
If the inial qualicaon detected that the baery was in poor condion, the patented
rejuvenaon process will begin automacally. During the rejuvenaon process a high voltage
equalising and peak pulse recondioning charge is used to repair the sulphated baery. This
unique patented feature will break down and dissolve the lead-sulphate crystal build up on the
baery plates which will extend the life of your baery. It can also balance out high concentraons
of acid. The equalisaon voltage will be 16V maximum. If the baery voltage doesn’t reach 9V
within 24 hours, the Rejuvenaon process will me out.
3) So Start Charging
Gently charges the baery using a reduced charge output unl the baery voltages reaches 11V. If
the baery voltage doesn’t reach 11V within 6 hours, the safety mer protecon will stop the unit
from charging and the Red Fault LED and 25% LED will start ashing.
If Posively Earthed – FIRST Connect the Black
(-) Crocodile clip or ring terminal lead to the (-)
baery terminal and then connect the Red (+)
Crocodile clip or ring terminal lead to the vehicle’s
chassis. DO NOT connect the Red (+) lead to the
carbureor or fuel lines.

4) Bulk Charging - (Charge Voltage depends on baery type selecon)
Uses the maximum selected charge output unl the baery voltage reaches 14.1/14.4/14.7V. If
the baery voltage doesn’t reach this within 24 hours, the safety mer protecon will stop the
unit from charging and the Red Fault LED and 50% or 75% LED will start ashing.
5) Absorpon Charging
Uses a constant voltage while reducing the charging output current to ensure the baery receives
a full charge without overcharging the baery.
6) Equalisaon Charging
A well proven process that carefully overcharges the baery to restore it’s full capacity. The
Equalisaon stage for CALCIUM SMF Baery type selecon is automac. The Equalisaon stage
for AGM/FLOODED/EFB and GEL Baery Types only occurs if the inial start voltage is below 11
Volts.
7) Baery Analysis
The baery analysis stage checks the condion of the baery aer the charge cycle is completed.
If the baery voltage drops too quickly during the analysis mode, this means the baery is
probably faulty. If the baery analysis failed, this is indicated by the Green Full LED ashing.
8) Float Mode
This stage allows you to keep the charger connected 24/7 to ensure your baery is well maintained and
kept 100% fully charged. Float mode will maintain the baery at a constant 13.6V.
9) Long Term Maintenance
During long term maintenance / oat mode, the unit will apply a special pulse charge to ensure
the baery is kept in opmal condion. Recharge Cycle every 21 days.
THE CHARGING PROCESS: LITHIUM (LFP)
1) Lithium Acvaon
The charger sends a signal to wake up the Lithium baery management system (BMS) so it can
detect the baery voltage and commence charging if safe to do so.
2) So Start Charging
Gently charges the baery using a reduced charge output unl the baery voltages reaches 10V.
If the baery voltage doesn’t reach 10V within 6 hours, the safety mer protecon will stop the
unit from charging.
3) Bulk Charging
Uses the maximum selected charge output unl the baery voltage reaches 14V.
If the baery voltage doesn’t reach 14V within 24 hours, the safety mer protecon will stop the
unit from charging.

9 • Owner’s manual - Model. CC1212-XLi
4) Absorpon Charging Stage 1
Uses a constant voltage of 14V while reducing the charging output current to ensure the baery
receives approximately 90% charge without overcharging the baery.
5) Absorpon Charging Stage 2
Steps up the constant voltage to 14.4V while reducing the charging output current to ensure the
baery receives a full charge without overcharging the baery.
6) Full
Once the baery is fully charged, the Green Full LED will come on. The charger output will stop.
However it will connue to monitor the baery condion as it will enter Long Term Analysis
mode.
7) Long Term Analysis
During long term analysis mode, the charger will monitor the baery level and reacvate the
charger output if the voltage drops below 12.9V to ensure the baery is always ready when you
need it.
Century Baeries does not recommend leaving the baery charger connected for more than 24
hours during LITHIUM (LFP) Mode. Disconnect aer 24 hour use.
LFP Wake Up - Power Supply - 13.8V 12A Max (1A, 8A, 12A selectable)
If the Lithium Acvaon signal isn’t waking up your baery BMS you may use this feature to wake
it up. With the LITHIUM (LFP) Baery Type selected, press and hold the MODE buon for 3 seconds
unl the LFP Wake Up - Power Supply LED turns ON (Green). The unit will output 13.8V and force the
BMS to wake up and the baery will start accepng charge. Aer a few minutes you can then press
and hold the MODE buon for 3 seconds to exit LFP Wake Up - Power Supply mode and unit will
revert back to charging mode.
This mode is me limited and will automacally switch back to LITHIUM (LFP) charging mode aer 24
hours.
STEP 4 - Disconnecng the Baery charger from Baery
• If the Baery is out of the vehicle:
(1) Switch OFF and Remove the AC Power Socket from the outlet.
(2) Remove the Black lead and then the Red lead.
• If the baery is sll in the vehicle:
(1) Switch OFF and Remove the AC Power Socket from the outlet.
