SAFETY
Please ensure that you follow these guidelines when handling batteries:
• Always wear personal protective equipment.
• Use lift straps or handles to move or carry batteries.
• Fuse all circuits that are connected to the battery.
• Always check for correct polarity and avoid short circuiting the battery.
• Do not place the battery on a metal surface and keep it away from
heat, sparks, or open flames.
• Use properly sized conductors or cables.
• Do not use mismatched batteries in the same circuit.
• Allow for air circulation around the battery.
• Do not handle batteries with cables connected or in use.
• Utilize hand tools with non-conductive handles and avoid over or under
torquing terminal bolts.
• In case of fire, extinguish with a CO2 fire extinguisher.
Please follow these guidelines carefully to ensure your safety and the
safety of others.
INSTALLATION
Equipment:
Always use the correct tool sizes with non-conductive handles when
installing.
Location:
Install in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight.
Cable Size:
Make sure the battery cable is correct and not undersized for the battery
system.
Lugs:
Make sure your lugs are the correct size and type and ensure they are
crimped correctly to avoid resistance and hot spots. If not crimped
correctly can lead to battery failure.
Parallel Connections:
- Always use batteries of the same make and model
- Make sure the battery cables are connected to the correct terminal
points.

- Up to 10 batteries can be connected in parallel.
- Ensure equal cable lengths and consistent sizes are used.
- Each battery must be within 0.05V before installing.
Series Connections:
- Always use batteries of the same make and model
- Make sure the battery cables are connected to the correct terminal
points.
- The batteries can be used in 12V, 24V or 48VDC only.
CHARGING
Charger settings:
- Bulk voltage: 14.2VDC.
- Float voltage: 13.6VDC.
- Discharge voltage: 11.6VDC (min).
- Max. recommended charging current: 50A.
- Max. continuous discharge current: 100A.
- To ensure a better battery life, a battery must be recharged correctly
and with a precise charger.
- Batteries that are not recharged correctly are not covered under
warranty.
Lithium batteries do not require external equalization charging.
Storage:
- Charge to a minimum of 50% and a maximum of 80% state of charge
for storage purposes.
DISCHARGING
Discharging:
- Our lithium batteries can be safely discharged at temperatures ranging
from -20°C to 60°C. The battery is protected for over temperature.
- A discharge of 80% or less will promote a long battery life.
- Our lithium batteries will self-discharge approximately 3% per month if
not charged.

- Leaving a battery at 0% state of charge for an extended period will
cause permanent damage.
BMS / OPERATION
BMS – Battery Management System is designed to ensure your lithium
battery operates within its specified parameters. The BMS is integrated
into each of our lithium batteries.
The BMS protects your battery against interim under voltage, over
voltage, over current and over temperature.
In the event of the BMS switching off the battery you can follow these
steps to reconnect the battery. Note this can happen if the above
parameters have been exceeded.
- Wait a few seconds for the BMS to reactivate. This is if the battery has
been drained below the maximum battery low voltage.
- Attached a jumper cable from a 12V vehicle battery.
- Attached a lithium 12V charger. Remember to disconnect the battery
from the inverter first.
- Attach another lithium 12/13V battery in parallel.
Always avoid short circuiting your battery.
INSPECTION
Ensure your DC cabling is not contaminated or corroded.
Ensure your terminals are tightened correctly.
Ensure your batteries have air circulation around them.
STORAGE
Disconnect the battery from all loads and charging sources when placing
into storage.
Storing the battery at 50% to 80% depth of discharge is recommended.
For long term storage complete a full charge and discharge every 6
months.
