SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards of entanglement or tripping over a longer
cord. Longer detachable power supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is
exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power supply extension cord is used:
1. The marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating
of the appliance.
2. The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can
be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
POWER CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.
2. To insert the plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into the outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp the plug and remove it from the outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the power cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this
indicates that the appliance should be serviced, and the power cord replaced. Please contact
Chefman® Customer Support for assistance.
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord
where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE POWER CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE OR IF THE APPLIANCE
WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do NOT touch hot surfaces. Use handle or dials.
3. To protect against electrical shock, do NOT immerse cord or plug in water or other liquids.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
6. Do NOT operate any Chefman® brand appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. If the appliance has been damaged in any way then
immediately contact Chefman® Customer Support.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by Chefman® may cause injuries.
8. Do NOT use outdoors.
9. Do NOT let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do NOT place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Extreme caution must be used while moving the Food Mover™ when it contains hot oil or other hot liquids.
12. Always plug cord into the wall outlet first. To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet.
13. Do NOT use the Food Mover™ for anything other than its intended use.
14. Do NOT insert oversized foods or metal utensils in to the Food Mover™ as they may create a fire or risk
of electric shock.
15. A fire may occur if the Food Mover™ is covered with or touching flammable material, including curtains,
draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation. Do NOT store any item on top of the Food Mover™
when in operation.
16. Do NOT clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts
involving a risk of electric shock.
17. Extreme caution should be exercised when using containers constructed of anything other than metal or
glass.
18. Do NOT store any materials, other than Chefman® recommended accessories, in the Food Mover™ when
not in use.
19. Do NOT place cardboard or plastic into the Food Mover™.

NOT be used. Be sure that the top of the baking dish is at least 1 inch away from the upper heating elements.
BAKE
Despite its countertop-convenient size, the Food Mover™ bakes as well as a conventional oven while allowing you
to gauge progress the entire time. Though the unit comes with a small cooking pan, it can also fit a 9- by 13-inch
baking sheet or a 12-cup muffin tin to handle your baking needs. Just be sure that the top of the food you’re bak-
ing is at least 1-inch from the upper heating element.
1. Ensure crumb tray is inserted in the bottom of the unit.
2. Press the Bake icon, then press the silver knob to initiate time set.
3. When time is blinking, turn the knob to select desired time. Press the knob to confirm time and move on to
selecting temperature.

across the control panel.
6. When the desired temperature is reached, the unit will beep, and the message “INSERT FOOD” will scroll
across the control panel. Open one door of the Food Mover™, insert the food completely into unit, and close
the door. The time will automatically start to count down as soon as the door is shut.
7. When the baking time has expired, the Food Mover™ will beep and the message “FOOD READY” will scroll
across the control panel.

manually end the function sooner. When the time has expired, the Food Mover™ will beep and the message
“FOOD READY” will display on the screen. The Conveyor Belt will activate briefly for a short time before
turning off.

change the “RUN” setting to a time, which will automatically set the speed of the conveyor belt. You cannot
adjust the belt’s speed in DIY if a time has been set. If you would like to move the food closer to the exit door
after cooking, press the EJECT button.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
BROIL
With the Smart Cooker™, there’s no need to move oven racks around for broiling; the unit’s compact size
means the heating element is always close to the food to achieve beautiful browning while simultaneously
allowing you keep a careful eye on the food. For most broiling, use the grill rack on the cooking pan to catch
any drippings, and be sure the top of the food is at least 1 inch away from upper heating elements.
1. Ensure crumb tray is inserted in the bottom of the unit.
2. Press the Broil icon, then press the silver knob to initiate time set.
3. When time is blinking, use the knob to select desired time. Press the knob to confirm time and then select

knob to confirm selection.
5. For broiling, the conveyor function is optional; the conveyor belt will be activated if doors are left open. If
not using conveyor function, insert food from either side completely into the unit and shut doors. If using
conveyor function, insert cooking pan into right side of the unit almost completely in the unit. (For best
results, make sure food is fully in the oven even if the cooking pan is slightly outside the entrance door.)
6. Press START/STOP to begin broiling.
NOTE: The doors can be open or closed for this function. If the doors are open, the conveyor belt will be
activated. If the doors are closed, the conveyor belt will be stationary.
7. When the broiling time has expired, the Food Mover™ will beep and the message “FOOD READY” will
scroll across the control panel. To remove the food, open the exit; the conveyor belt will automatically
activate briefly. Carefully remove the food with an oven mitt; do not put metal utensils into unit.

TROUBLESHOOTING
The conveyor belt isn’t moving.
Check that both doors are open and that the function you have chosen activates the conveyor belt. It’s also
possible the belt is misaligned. Remove the conveyor belt as directed on the FEATURES page and reinsert
it, being sure it’s pushed all the way back into place. If the conveyor still does not work properly, contact

My food has reached my desired doneness but is not out of the unit yet.
To remove any food left in the unit, open the exit door and press the EJECT button. The conveyor belt will
move the food out of the left side of the Food Mover™ onto the exit door. To stop EJECT, either shut the door
or press the EJECT button again. Do NOT insert metal utensils into the Food Mover™.
There is smoke coming from the Food Mover™.
Broiling meat may cause excess splatter to occur and small traces of smoke or flame to occur within the
cooking chamber. This is normal and will quickly dissipate. If the problem continues, unplug unit immediately.
The Overheat warning is illuminated on control panel. If the unit gets too hot, the word Overheat will
illuminate on the control panel in red. If this occurs, immediately unplug the unit and let it cool before cooking
with it again.

Avocado Toast with Egg, Asparagus, and Pickled Onions
We’ve jazzed up avocado toast with tangy pickled onions and
jammy fried eggs for a breakfast treat that’s hard to beat.
1. Halve and pit avocados. Using a spoon, scoop out flesh
and transfer to a medium bowl. Add the lime juice, salt, and
pepper, and mash with a fork to desired consistency.
2. Put the onions in a small bowl. Using a vegetable peeler,
shave the asparagus into the bowl. Add the parsley and toss
gently.
3. Set the Food Mover™ to Toast on Shade 6.
4. Place two bread slices on the entrance door. Once they’re
fully inside the unit, place the next two slices on the door.
5. While the bread is toasting, heat the butter in large nonstick
skillet over medium heat. Crack the eggs into the skillet, cover
with a lid, lower the heat to medium low, and cook until the
whites are opaque and the yolk is still runny; or cook eggs to
your desired doneness.
6. Divide the avocado among the four slices of toast. Top each
with an egg and then the asparagus and onion salad, being
careful not to crack the yolk. Season to taste with salt and
pepper and serve.
• 2 avocados
• 1 Tbsp fresh lime juice
• 1 tsp kosher salt, more to
taste
• ½ tsp freshly ground black
pepper, more to taste
• ¼ cup thinly sliced
homemade or jarred
pickled red onions
• 2 stalks asparagus, trimmed
• 2 Tbsp fresh parsley leaves

BRUSCHETTA
Easy-to-make bruschetta is always a crowd pleaser. Feel
free to add some finely chopped garlic to the tomatoes for
a bolder hit of flavor. To keep the tomatoes from spilling off
the toast, consider spreading a little hummus on the toasts
before topping them with the tomatoes; the hummus acts
like “glue” but tastes delicious.
1. In a medium bowl, combine the tomatoes, basil, onion,
1 Tbsp of the oil, the vinegar, salt, and pepper.
2. Brush one side of the bread slices with the remaining
2 Tbsp of oil.
3. Set the Food Mover™ to Toast at Shade 5.
4. Place 4 bread slices, oiled side up, on the entrance
door. When the first 4 bread slices are fully inserted into
the unit, place the next 4 on the door. Repeat with any
remaining slices.
5. Top the toasted side of the slices with the tomato
mixture and serve.
• 5 ripe plum tomatoes,
diced
• ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
• 2 Tbsp finely chopped red
onion
• 3 Tbsp extra-virgin olive
oil, divided
• 2 tsp balsamic vinegar

BUTTERMILK BISCUITS
Using very cold butter in the dough gives these beautiful biscuits
their impressive height and light texture, so keep your butter cubes
in the freezer while you measure the rest of the ingredients to keep
them super chilled. Speaking of butter, these biscuits are pure heaven
when topped with butter that’s been whipped with a little honey.
1. Crack two of the eggs into a medium bowl. Add the buttermilk and
whisk until combined.
2. In a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment, combine
both flours, the sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix on low speed
for about 30 seconds. Add the butter cubes to the flour mixture
and mix on low until the butter is distributed and in small pea-size
pieces.
3. Add the buttermilk mixture and mix on medium speed until the
dough releases from the sides of the bowl and forms a ball, about
3 minutes.
4. Lightly flour a work surface. Lightly roll the dough out to about
1-inch thick.
5. Using a 3-inch cutter, cut out 8 biscuits. Place on an ungreased
9x13-inch baking sheet with space between. (These first biscuits
will have the best shape and texture; however, you can gather up
the dough, reroll it gently and cut up to four more biscuits to bake
separately.)
6. Beat the remaining egg and brush the tops of the biscuits with it.
Sprinkle each biscuit with a pinch of flaky sea salt.
7. Set the Food Mover™ to Bake at 400˚F for 16 minutes. When pre-
heating has finished, insert baking sheet all the way into the unit
and close the door.
8. Bake until golden brown on top. Serve immediately.
• 3 large eggs
• 1 ⅓ cups buttermilk
• 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour,
plus more for rolling
• 2 ¼ cups bread flour
• ¼ cup granulated sugar
• 3 ½ tsp kosher salt
• 4 Tbsp plus 1 ½ tsp baking
powder
• 8 oz (1 cup) unsalted butter,
cut into ½ inch cubes and
chilled
• Flaky sea salt, for garnish

BAKED CHICKEN CHIMICHANGAS
Small in size but big in flavor, these make a great appetizer,
so go ahead and double or triple the recipe, cooking the
chimichangas in batches.
1. In a microwave-safe bowl, toss the chicken, beans, and salsa
with the taco seasoning. Microwave until heated through,
about 1 minute on high power.
2. Divide the chicken and bean mixture evenly among the
tortillas, placing it toward the bottom half of each tortilla and
leaving some room on the sides. Top with the cheese.
3. Fold in the sides of the tortilla leaving some of the filling
peeking out. While keeping the sides folded in, roll up the
tortilla starting from the bottom.
4. Brush all over with the melted butter, then place all four,
seam side down, on the conveyer belt at its start.
5. Set the Food Mover™ to DIY at 400˚F for 12 minutes.
6. Cook until golden brown and crisp.

Cinnamon Buns
While this recipe may take more effort than poppin’ a cardboard can, the
sweet, yeasty rolls are more than worth it. Make them for someone you love.
1. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
2. Put the water, milk, and butter in a small microwave-safe bowl and
microwave until the butter is melted. Let cool briefly then whisk in the egg.
3. Stir the butter and egg mixture into the flour mixture, then knead until
the dough is no longer sticky, adding a little more flour if very sticky, about
4 minutes.
4. Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray. Lightly spray a
large bowl with cooking spray. Place the dough in the bowl, cover with
plastic wrap, and let rest for about 5 minutes.
5. Set the Food Mover™ to Bake at 250˚F for 15 minutes. Allow to continue to
bake empty (this is to create a warm space for the buns to rise).
6. Meanwhile, combine the cinnamon and brown sugar in a small bowl.
7. Lightly flour a work surface and roll the dough out to a 15x9-inch
rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the top of the dough then
sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
8. Starting on the long side, roll the dough up tightly. Slice into 12 pieces.
Transfer buns to the prepared baking dish and cover loosely with foil.
9. Insert baking dish all the way into the unit and close the door. Turn the
Food Mover™ off and let the buns rise for 30 minutes.
10. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, make the icing by stirring the powdered sug-
ar, vanilla, and 2 Tbsp. milk. Add up to another 1 Tbsp milk to loosen icing
for drizzling if needed.
11. Remove the buns from the Food Mover™ and then remove the foil.
12. Set to Bake at 375˚F for 14 minutes. When preheating has finished, insert
baking dish all the way into the unit. Bake until the buns are golden brown.
Serve immediately drizzled with the icing.
