Maintenance Guidelines
ØClean the condenser once a year in low or normal
traffic areas such as offices &quarterlyin higher traffic
areas, areas such agyms, airports and schools.
ØUse warm soapy water to clean drinking solution
products
ØTo remove external hard water stains or lime scale, use
a mild vinegar& watermix. Flush the internal system
with a food grade citric acid if necessary.
ØCheck insidethe unit to be sure condensation is not
occurring in warmer environments. (Adjusting the cold
control to a warmer setting, insulating water & drain
lines can help reduce condensation).

Prior Service
•Disconnect electrical supply to the unit before any service work
•Shut offwater supply serving the unit before any service work
•Make sure to dispense all water in the system.
•Confirm condenser fan turns freely and there are no obstructions from other
components
•Ensure proper ventilation by maintaining clearance from cabinet louvers to
wallon each side of Cooler as specified in Installation Manual.
Additional Tips
•Never wire compressor directly to electrical supply.
•Thoroughly flush all water lines and fittings of all foreign matter before
connecting to Cooler.
•Motors are lifetime lubricated.

Cleaning of Condenser
•The condenser looks like a
radiator and is located on the left
side of a refrigerated product.
•Remove 4 screws on bottom
cover panel. Vacuum the
condenser coils on. Replace lower
panel.
•You should be ableto shine a
flashlight on the outside of the
coils and see the beam inside,
when the coilsare clean.
•Excess dirt or poorventilation can
cause no cold water and
compressor cycling on the
compressor overload protector.

Cleaning of Bubbler
•Bubblers : Mineral deposits on
the orifice can cause water flow
to spurt ornot regulate. Mineral
deposits may be removed from
the orifice with a small round file
not over 1/8” (3 mm) diameter
or small diameter wire.
CAUTION: DO NOT file or cut orifice
material. Care must be taken not to
damage the orifice(s)
•Water Flow: Confirm proper
water flow. If water flow is slow,
inspect filter or inline strainer for
restriction.
•Strainer: Remove screen and
rinse thoroughlywith water.

warmer.
•Remove 4 screws on
bottom cover panel. Cold
control ismounted to the
center of the bracket just
under theupper shroud.
•Left= colder
•Right = warmer

Adjusting Water Stream Height
•Factory preset at 35 psig
(0.24MPa) to adjustrotate
screw clockwise raise
stream and counter
clockwise lower stream.
•Remove4 screwson bottom
cover panel. The regulator is
part of the solenoid,
mounted tothe left of the

Filter Replacement
Step 1: Determine when your filter needs to be
changed
Green – 100% filter life
Yellow – Water is safe to drinkbut has 10% life left
Red– Filter life is at 0% replacement required

Filter Replacement
Step 2: Remove Cooler Base Panel (Shroud)
•Remove the panel at the base of the fountain, otherwise
known as the shroud. This can be done with a manual
screwdriver to remove the four flat head screws under the
filler that secure the shroud to the base.
14/05/2019 9

Filter Replacement
Step 3: Shut off flow from water source
With the shroud removed, you should havefull access to
the inside of the cooler. The filler’s anatomy should include
some type of piping or valve that connects to the wall
behindthe filler. This indicatesthe filler’s water source. In
order to remove the filter, you’ll need to first shut this
sourceoff to prevent any messy slip-ups. This shouldonly
require a simplecounter-clockwise turn butif it proves
more difficult, you may need to contact whoever originally
installed the filler.

Filter Replacement
Step 4: Locate and replace filter
This filter can be found at the far left side of the fountain. In
order to remove the original Elkay EZH20 filter, grab the top of
the filter, closest to the filler, and give it a firm twist
counterclockwise. This should loosen the filter from the filler and
allow you to fully remove it. Remove the filter carefully, as it will
likely contain slimy residue. Dispose of the filter appropriately.

•After unpacking the new Elkay 51300c replacement
Filter, remove the filter’s red top. Make sure to keep
the now open portion facing up. Next, take the
opened filter and push it up and into the filter
housing space where you removed the old filter.
Once inside, begin to move the filter into place by
twisting it clockwise until the filter is securely
fastened. You’ll know the filter is in place when the
label is visible, meaning that it faces out as opposed
to facing the wall. If this is not the case, turn the
filter around 180° so that you are able to see the
label.

Filter Replacement
Step 5: Test the waters
When the filter is in place, turn the filler’s water source back on.
Then, before re-affixing the shroud to the base, run about two
gallons of water through the filler’s tap toactivate the new filter.
Sometimes, water pressure maycause an irregular flow. This is
nothing toworry about and should normalize on its own.
After running enough water through the filler’s spout, re-attach
the shroud to the base of the filler, screwing it back into place.

Reset Filter Light
•If you have an older Elkay model, such as
the Elkay LZS8WSLK, you will likely have to follow
up the Elkay EZH20 filter replacement process by
manually resetting both the bottle counter and
filter indicator light.
•This requires that you remove the head panel of
the bottle filler (this is the flat, plastic portion
directly above the filling area that covers the inside
of the filler’s upper portion). Using a manual
screwdriver, remove the two screwslocated on
either side of the head panel.
•Lift the panel up to expose the inside of the
fountain. There, you should be able to see a small
grey box on the right hand side of the filler. On this
box, there is a small button. This button is
responsible for adjusting the visual components of
the filler such as the bottle counter and filter
indicator lights.

Reset Filter Light
•Bypushing the button for two seconds, you’ll notice that
the front display will change.
•When the display reaches “RST FLTR”, push the button
again.
•When yousee “FLTR =”, press the button one more time
so the display reads “FLTR=0”. This should automatically
change the filter indicator light from red to green.
•Assuming youwould also like to reset the bottlecounter,
press the button down again until the display reads "RST
BCNT".
•Push the button again to display the current bottle count
number, for example “BC0007864”, and then depress the
button once more to zero-out the bottle counter,
resetting it.
•Your bottlefiller is now reset! Just reattach the head
panel and screw it back into place.

How to stop a continuously
counting Bottle Filler
•Remove the top cover panel at the bottle filler.
•Lift the bottle filler forward and disconnect the purple (and
yellow wire only used on bi level units) that connect to the
drinking fountain and cap or tape those ends.
•Reinstall the bottle filler into position.
•Verify that the count has stopped.
Note - The bottle filler will function fully with those wires
disconnected. Those wires are used to count the number of
drinks taken from the fountain. With these disconnected it will
no longer advance when a drink is taken from the fountain but
will advance when a bottle is dispensed.
