KNOW YOUR LAWN MOWER
Read this manual carefully, observing the recommended safety instructions before, during and after using your
lawn trimmer. Following these simple instructions will also maintain your lawn trimmer in good working order.
Familiarize yourself with the controls on your mower before attempting to operate it, but above all, be sure you
know how to stop your mower in an emergency. Retain this user manual and all other literature with your mower
for future reference.

SAFETY ALERT SYMBOL: Indicates caution or warning may be used in conjunction with other symbols
or pictures.
Read this instruction book carefully before using the lawn mower and keep it
in a safe place for future reference.
Keep bystanders away.
Beware of sharp blades. Blades continue to rotate after the motor is switched off.
Remove the plug from the machine before maintenance or if cord damaged.
Keep the supply flexible cord away from the cutting blades.

The product meets demands and regulations set by the European Community.
WEEE Marking
CAUTION! Unusable power tools do not belong with domestic waste. They must be
taken to a communal collecting point for environmentally friendly disposal in accordance
with local regulations.

Your tool noise is not more than 96dB.

DOUBLE INSULATED
Your mower is double insulated.
This means that all external parts are electrically isolated from the power supply. This is achieved by placing an
extra insulation barrier between the electrical and mechanical parts.
2. GENERAL SAFETY RULES
The purpose of the safety rules is to attract your attention to possible dangers. The safety symbols and the
explanations with them, require your careful attention and understanding. The safety warnings do not by
themselves eliminate any danger. The instruction or warnings they give are not substitutes for proper accident
prevention measures.
WARNING: This machine produces an electromagnetic field during operation. This field may under
some circumstances interfere with active or passive medical implants. To reduce the risk of serious or fatal
injury, we recommend persons with medical implants to consult their physician and the medical implant
manufacturer before operating this machine.
WARNING: Failure to obey a safety warning can result in serious injury to yourself or to others. Always
follow the safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury. Save owners
manual and review frequently for continuing safe operation and instructing others who may use this tool.
1. Before use check the supply and extension cord for signs of damage or worn.If the cord becomes
damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the supply immediately.
DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY.
2. Do not use the appliance if the cord is damaged or worn.
3. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Use suitable outdoor power cords.
4. Do not to touch the blade before the machine is disconnected form the supply and the blade have come to
a complete stop.
5. Always keep extension cords away from the blade. The blade can cause damage to the cords and lead to
contact with live parts.
6. Always disconnect the power supply (i.e. by removing the plug from the wall socket)
-whenever leaving the machine unattended
-before clearing a blockage
-before checking, cleaning or working on the machine
-after striking a foreign object
-whenever the machine starts vibrating abnormally
7. When servicing the blades be aware that, even though the power source is switched off, the blades can
still be moved.
8. Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30 mA is recommended.
WARNING: The operation of any tool can result in foreign objects being thrown into your eyes, which can
result in eyes severely damaged. Before beginning power tool operation, always wears safety goggles or
safety glasses with side shields and a full face shield when needed. We recommend Wide Vision Safety Mask for
use over eyeglasses or standard safety glasses with side shield.

IMPORTANT

1. Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and the proper use of the equipment.
2. Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the lawnmower. Local regulations
can restrict the age of the operator
3. Never mow while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
4. The operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property.
5. While mowing, always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. Do not operate the equipment when
barefoot or wearing open sandals; Avoid wearing clothing that is loose fitting or that has hanging cords or
ties.
6. Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to be used and remove all objects which can be
thrown by the machine.
7. Before using the mower, always visually inspect to see that the blades, blade bolts and cutter assembly
are not worn or damaged. Replace worn or damaged blades and bolts in sets to preserve balance.
Replace damaged or unreadable labels.
8. Mow only in daylight or in good artificial light;
9. For best results avoid operating the equipment in wet grass, where feasible.
10. Always be sure of your footing on slopes
11. Walk and never run with the mower.
12. For wheeled rotary machines: mow across the face of slopes, never up and down.
13. Take extra care when changing direction on slopes.
14. Do not attempt to mow excessively steep slopes.
15. Take extra care when reversing or pulling the lawnmower towards you.
16. Stop the mower blades if the lawn mower has to be tilted for transportation when crossing surfaces other
than grass, and when transporting the lawn mower to and from the area to be mowed.
17. Never operate the lawnmower with defective guards, or without safety devices, for example deflectors
and/or grass catchers, in place.
18. Start or switch on the motor carefully according to instructions and with feet well away from the blades.
19. Do not tilt the lawnmower when starting the motor.
20. Do not start the motor when standing in front of the discharge chute.
21. Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts, Keep clear of the discharge opening at all times.
22. Never pick up or carry a lawnmower while the motor is running.
23. Stop the motor and disconnect the plug. Make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop.
- whenever you leave the machine;
- before clearing blockages or unclogging chute;
- before checking, cleaning or working on the lawnmower;
- after striking a foreign abject. Inspect the lawnmower for damage and make repairs before restarting and
operating the lawnmower;
- If lawnmower starts to vibrate abnormally (check immediately);
- inspect for damage;
- replace or repair any damage parts.

24. Keep all nuts, blots and screws tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.
25. Check the grass catcher frequently for wear or deterioration.
26. Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
27. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
28. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or

instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
29. Be careful during adjustment of the machine to prevent entrapment of the fingers between moving blades
and fixed parts of the machine.

5. ASSEMBLY
Carefully remove all parts the of the mower from the carton. Retain the box and all packaging for
warranty purposes.
5.1 ASSEMBLY THE LOWER HANDLE
To assemble the lower handles into the main body of the mower, firstly locate the lower handle into the slot of
the body. Then tighten the fixing screws on each of the sides as shown below.

5.2 ASSEMBLY- THE MIDDLE & UPPER HANDLE
1.Firstly, slide the cable holder / retainer onto the middle handle, position it around the top of the
handle so it does not fall off during the following assembly steps.
2. Slide the middle handle into the profiled area of the lower handle frame. Making sure that the
holes of both sides of the upper handle are directly aligned with the holes of the frame.
3. Secure the upper handle to the middle handle frame with the cam-lock lever and bolts
provided.
4. Repeat the above process on the upper and lower handle.
5.3 FITTING THE CABLE CLIPS ON THE HANDLE BARS
The cable clips should be used to secure the cable to the lower and
middle handle frames.
5.4 FITTING THE GRASS BAG
1. Place the fabric of the bag over the frame as shown and then push fit the fixings over the frame.
2. When assembling the grass bag onto the machine, lift the front plastic cross strap and locate the 2 pins into
the slot holes on the deck. The plastic extension flap should be located on the bar above the front roller.

5.5 BEFORE CONNECTING TO THE POWER SUPPLY
WARNING: READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE PROCEEDING
1. Never use the mower if the power cable is damaged or cut in anyway. Replace the cable before using.
2. Do not use the use the mower in damp conditions.
3. Use a Residual Current Device (RCD) as a safety precaution.
4. Only extension cables suitable for outside use should be used.Always fully unwind the cable fully, coiled
cables may overheat and reduce the efficiency of the mower.
5. The cross section of the wire of the extension cable must 1.5mm or greater for cables up to 15m in length.
Where the extension cable is 15m to 40m long ensure the wire diameter is 2.5mm or more.
6. The power rating of the mower is 230-240 VAC 50Hz. The plug is fitted with a 13amp fuse.
Fitting the cable clip:
1. Ensure the mower cable is not powered before proceeding.
2. Fold the cable to form a loop and then pass the loop through the large slot as
shown opposite, such that the cable hooks over the middle peg.
3. The cable clip is designed to protect the connection in the switch box.
6. OPERATING THE MOWER
WARNING: ALWAYS UNPLUG THE MOWER BEFORE UNDERTAKING ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE
MOWER. WEAR SAFETY GLOVES WHEN WORKING MAINTAINING THE MOWER.
6.1 CHANGING THE CUTTING HEIGHT
1. The mower has 3 heights of cut. Position 3 is the lowest height of cut, which is 18mm. The highest height of
cut is 38mm and the middle position is 28mm.
2. To change the height of cut pull the lever outward away from the mower and then move the lever to the side
to select the required cutting height. Release the lever gently to lock the position.

6.2 OPERATING THE ON/OFF SWITCH
WARNING: THE MOWER IS FITTED WITH ATWO STAGE SAFETY SWITCH. ENGAGE THE LOCK
SWITCH BEFORE PULLING THE LEVER.
TO SWITCH ON:
1. Press the switch lock button (A)
2. Pull the switch lever (B) and release the switch lock button (A)
TO SWITCH OFF:
Release the switch lever (B)
6.3 ADJUSTING THE BOTTOM BLADE AND CUTTING CYLINDER
WARNING: FIRST UNPLUG THE POWER SUPPLY AND WEAR GLOVES
The cylinder mower has two sets of the blades. The cylinder blade (c) and the bottom blade. The two blades cut
the grass in a similar way to a pair of scissors and provide a clean cut when correctly adjusted. The bottom blade
adjustment screw (D) allows the distance from the two blades to be adjusted.
1. Turn the mower upside down as shown above. To close the gap between the cylinder and the bottom blade
turn the adjustment screw on each clockwise a small amount.
2. Wearing gloves carefully test that the blades are just in contact by rotating the cylinder by hand. If the blades
are too difficult to rotate then adjust the screws anti-clockwise. Repeat the process and ensure that both sides
are adjusted to a similar gap.
3. The final test involves a sheet of paper (approximately 0.12mm thick). Insert the paper between the two blades,
then rotate the cylinder to check if the paper cleanly cuts. Check across the width of the blade, cuts sharply.
Adjust as necessary to achieve a scissor like cut finish.
4. Once adjusted correctly, turn the mower back onto its correct side and power the mower. Test the mower cuts
cleanly. It will be necessary to periodically re-test and adjust the bottom blade to ensure it cuts cleanly.

6.3 OPERATING THE MOWER
WARNING:
-Always keep a firm hold of the mower handle with both hands and beware of others in the area. The blades may
cause an accident. Be careful while moving backwards –danger of tripping!
To avoid damage to the mower:
- Never lift or drag the tool with the motor running.
- When mowing, do not allow the motor to labour particularly in heavy conditions.
- When the motor labours, the speed of the motor drops and you will hear a change in the motor sound, you
should stop the mowing immediately and release the switch lever and raise the height of cut.
CORRECT MOWING PATH:
1. Position the mower on the edge/side of the lawn.
2.Always start mowing away from the mains socket,
to avoid entangling or cutting the cable.
3. Ensure the cable is never in the path of the
mower.
Check the quality of the cut and adjust as
necessary.
7. STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
7.1 CABLE TIDY SYSTEM
The mower has a cable tidy system.After use, wrap the mower cable around the cable hooks and secure the
plug in place. To release the extension cable for machine use, just rotate the cable hook.

7.2 STORING THE MOWER
WARNING: DISCONNECT THE PLUG FROM THE SOCKET FIRST
The handles of the mowers fold down to allow for compact storage. Push the lower handle to the right and then
rotate forward, make sure the lower handle is out of the block position. Release the cam-lock levers and fold
the handle down.
WARNING: STORE THE MOWER IN ADRYAND SECURE LOCATION AWAY FROM CHILDREN
7.3 TRANSPORTATION
1.Always ensure the mower is switched off and disconnect it from power supply before transporting.
2.Always use the carry handle in the middle of the mower.
3. Ensure the mower is protected and secured during transportation to avoid damage.

8. TROUBLESHOOTING
Warning: before performing any maintenance or cleaning work, always pull out the mains plug and wait
until the cutter has come to a standstill.
CAUTION! Faults which cannot be rectified with the aid of this table may be rectified by a Cobra Service
Centre only.

9. WARRANTY
This product is warranted in accordance with legal regulations for a 24 month period effective from the date of
purchase by the first user.
This product will not be covered if used in a commercial application.
This warranty covers all material or production failures, it does not include: defects from normal wear and tear,
parts such as, bearings, brushes, cables, air cleaning elements, brake pad, clutch disc, tyre, wheel, recoil
starter rope, belts, cutter blades, plugs, lubricant oils and grease or accessories. Damage or defects resulting
from abuse, accidents or alterations, natural fading of painted or plated surfaces, sheet peeling and other
natural deterioration.
Any damage that occurs from the use of non-genuine Cobra parts will not be covered.
We reserve the right to reject any claim where the purchase cannot be verified or when it is clear that the
product was not maintained properly. (Clean ventilation slots, carbon brushes and serviced regularly)
Expenses incidental to the warranty claim that are not covered;
-Compensation for loss of time, commercial loss or rental costs of substitute product.
-Costs incurred for transportation to and from the dealership.
Any damage that occurs from the following will not be covered; exposure of the product to smoke and soot,
chemical agents, bird droppings or other animal waste, seawater, sea breeze, salt or other environmental
phenomena.
Any damage resulting from operating methods other than those indicated in the owner’s manual will not be
covered.
Your purchase receipt must be kept as proof for date of purchase. Your un-dismantled mower must be
returned to your dealer in an acceptably clean state, accompanied by your proof of purchase.

10. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY DISPOSAL
According to EU directive 2012/19/EU on electric and electronic equipment and its
implementation into national law, all electric tools must be separately collected and
environmentally friendly recycled. Alternative disposal: If the owner of the power tool does not
return the tool to the manufacturer, he is responsible for proper disposal at a designated
collection point that prepares the device for recycling according to national recycling laws and
regulations. This does not include accessories and tools without electric or electronic components.
