The Disk

The diskversion of thisprogram isthe same astheoneon digitaldatapack.
The onlydifference you will note, isin loading the program. The disk has
its labeltopside andthe write-protectnotch onthe left.
Loading the Program
Before beginning, be sure you have
attached the DiskDrive to ADAMIV
as explained inthe drive'sOwner's
Manual. To load the program from
disk, follow these steps:
1. Makesure no digitaldata packs or
disks Eire inanyofthe drives.
3. Turn ona DiskDrive by pressing
its powerswitch onthe front of
the drive.
4 .Turn on ADAM using the power
switch located atthe back ofthe
printer.
5. Open the diskdrivelatch andin-
sert the programdiskwith its
labelfacing upandthe write-
protect notch tothe left. Then
close the latch.
G.Press ComputerRESET.
INSERT DISK AS SHOWN

Remember,do not attempt to
remove the diskwhile the drive is
operating. Donot turnpower onor
off when a disk isinthe drive.Con-
sult your DiskDriveOwner's
Manual for moreinformation.

Write-Protect Tab
The program disk comes with wrlte-protect tabs that youcanuseto tape
over the notch onthe side ofthe disk.Leaving thetab off allows youto
"write to"and storeinformationdirectly on yourprogramdisk.Placing
thetab over the notch, onthe other hand, prevents you from storing files
on,or "writing to," the disk. In eithercase, the program itself is safe from
accidentalerasure. We recommend,however,that you place thetabon
the programdisk andusea blankdisk for creating a data base and storing
records.
To place a tab properly, put half ofthetab over the notch onone side of
the disk.Bend the otherhalf ofthetab over the opening onthe edge and
onto the otherside ofthe disk so that the notchopening is completely
sealed.
WhenUsingRecipeFiler Please Note . . .
You will notbe able to storeinformation ifyou have a write-protect tab
on yourdisk. If you find that you havebeenusing a write-protected disk,
your recipeshave not beenproperlystored.
Do nottryto save any more recipes; donot press QUIT. Instead,remove
your recipedatadisk and reinsertyour Recipe Filer programdatapack
or disk. Pull ComputerReset to reload the program. While the program
is loading,remove the write-protect tab from yourdatadisk.
