Safety and Handling Precautions
Camera Information
•
Do not disassemble or attempt to service the camera yourself.
•
Do not expose the camera to moisture, or extreme temperatures.
•
Allow the camera to warm up when moving from cold to warm temperatures.
•
Do not touch and put pressure on the camera lens.
•
Do not expose the lens to direct sunlight for extended periods.
•
Do not use abrasive chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents to clean
the product. Wipe the product with a slightly damp soft cloth.
•
Do not use the flash or LED Light near a person's eyes to prevent possible eye
injury.
•
To prevent you from falling over or resulting in traffic accident, please do not use
the camera while you are walking, driving or riding a vehicle.
•
Please handle the camera strap with care, and never place the strap around the
neck of an infant or child. Wrapping the strap around a neck may cause
suffocation.
•
Do not subject the LCD screen to impact.
•
To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain
or moisture.
Battery Information
•
Turn off the camera before installing or removing the battery.
•
Use only the provided batteries or type of battery and charger that came with
your camera. Using other types of battery or charger may damage the device
and invalidate the warranty.
•
Inserting the battery upside down can cause damage to the product and possibly
cause an explosion.
•
When the camera is used for an extended period of time, it is normal for the
camera body to feel warm.
•
Download all pictures and remove the battery from the camera if you are going
to store the camera for a long period of time.
•
The type of battery and the battery power level may cause the lens to be stuck
up. Ensure you use the correct battery type and use a fully charged battery.
•
Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used

batteries according to the instructions.
•
Please keep the batteries out of the reach of children to prevent from swallowing
batteries, which might cause poisoning.
•
Once the battery's color changes or its shape is twisted, please stop using it.
USB adapter Information
•
Do not expose the adapter to high temperatures or moisture places. Otherwise, it
may cause fire or electric shock.
•
Do not attempt to repair, disassemble, change or transform the adapter.
•
Avoid sudden changes in temperature, which may cause condensation on the
adapter’s internal surfaces. Please do not use it immediately in this situation.
•
Do not touch the plug with wet hands. Otherwise, it may cause electric shock.
•
Do not use the travel voltage converter or AC/DC power inverter. Otherwise, it
may cause damage, overheating, malfunction or fire to the camera.

Function Description
Power Switch Slide to enter Setup Mode, On or to power down
the camera.
Mode Press to switch between Video, Photo, Playback
and Settings mode.
In submenus press to return to the previous menu.
In password setup, press to switch between digits.
Up/WiFi
In Menus:
Use the UP button to scroll through
menus and options.
Press and hold for 3 seconds to enter and exit
WiFi mode.
OK/Record

2.1
Installing the Batteries
1.
Undo the latch and open the camera.
2.
Press the battery compartment release button to eject the battery
compartment.
3.
Insert 8 x AA size batteries. Make sure to insert the batteries in the
direction noted on the camera.
When using a power adaptor (not included), open the rubber seal on the
bottom of the unit and insert the DC plug. Please note when a DC plug is
inserted into the camera, the camera cannot be opened. The plug needs to
be removed first.

Inserting the Memory Card
Insert the SD memory card, not included, to record and store your videos and
photos. When the battery is low, media stored on the memory card will not be
erased. Please insert the SD memory card by following the steps below:
1.
Undo the latch and open the camera.
2.
Insert the memory card in the slot shown below. Ensure that the metal
contacts are inserted first. Push the memory card in until you hear an
audible click.
The memory card can only be inserted in one way. Do not force the
card in if it will not go in smoothly.
3.
Close the camera door and close the latch.
4.
To remove the memory card, simply push in and the card will eject back out.
NOTE:
Please format the memory card before using the camera
(Caution, this will erase all data on the card).
Do not remove or insert the memory card when recording. It
may damage the card or cause data loss.
Memory card rating must be Class 10 or above.

Powering the Camera On/Off
Open the latch and open the camera. Slide the switch to the ‘SETUP’ position
to set up and test the camera, or to the ‘ON’ position to use the camera as
normal.
If the camera’s batteries are low, a “Low Power” message will display on the
screen and it will automatically shut down within a few seconds to prevent
memory corruption or loss.

Connecting to a Computer
Your camera can connect to a computer to transfer photo and video files for
viewing and editing. Connect the camera by plugging in the small end of the
included USB cable to the USB port on the camera, as shown below, and the
large end into the computer. Once connected slide the switch to SETUP or
OFF and the camera’s screen will show “Mass Storage” and enter Mass
Storage mode automatically.

Connecting to a TV
Your camera can connect to a TV to view photo and video files. Connect the
camera by plugging in the small end of the included USB cable to the
camera, as shown below, and the large end into the TV. The camera can
also be connected using an AV cable (not included). Once connected slide
the switch to SETUP or OFF and the camera’s screen will show “Mass
Storage” and enter Mass Storage mode automatically.

Using the IR Night Vision Mode
This camera has built-in infrared (IR) LEDs for night vision recording -
giving you the ability to capture photos and videos in a dark environment.
The camera will automatically detect the level of light and if it’s dark the
infrared LEDs will automatically illuminate.
Note:
The photos and videos taken while the IR LED is enabled will be
recorded in black and white.

Using the Camera
3.1
Camera Setup
Before using the camera it’s important to choose the basic settings. Basic
settings can be changed in the Settings menu. These include date & time,
language and sound options. Power the camera on and slide the switch to
‘SETUP’ then press the ‘MENU’ button to enter the Settings menu. A menu
will display on the screen.
3.1.1 Mode
Your camera can record in 3 different modes, Photo, Video, and Photo &
Video.

In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Mode’ and
press the OK button to enter the ‘Mode’ submenu.

Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (Photo, Video, Photo & Video)
3.1.2 Image Size (Resolution)
This function sets the photo resolution. The higher the resolution, the greater
the photo quality and the larger the file size of the photo.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Image
Size’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Image Size’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (24MP, 20MP, 16MP, 12MP,
10MP, 8MP, 5MP, 3MP, 2MP)
3.1.3 Picture Number
This function allows the camera to capture consecutive photos with every
picture taken.
1.
In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Picture
Number’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Picture Number’
submenu.

Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (1 Photo, 2 Photos, 3 Photos)
3.1.4 Video Resolution
This function sets the video resolution. The higher the resolution, the
greater the video quality and the larger the file size of the video.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Video
Resolution’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Video Resolution’
submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK

button to confirm your selected setting (1296P, 1080P, 720P, WVGA,
VGA)
3.1.5 Video Length
This function lets you set the length of each video recorded. The longer the
video, the larger the file size of the video.
1.
In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Video
Length’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Video Length’ submenu.

Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (5-180 Seconds)
3.1.6 PIR Interval
This function sets the amount of time in between pictures. This prevents
the memory card from filling up with too many pictures and videos of the
same event.
1.
In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘PIR
Interval’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘PIR Interval’ submenu.
2.
Press the UP or DOWN buttons to change the highlighted digit, press
the OK button to switch to the next digit, press the MODE button to exit
the ‘PIR Interval’ menu after your desired settings have been selected
(10-59 Seconds, 1-59 Minutes)
3.1.7 PIR Sensitivity
The sensitivity of the main motion sensor is set here. The sensitivity level
should be based the activity in the area where the camera will be placed.
For interior areas and environments with low activity select ‘High’. For
outside areas and environments with normal activity select ‘Medium’. For
environments with a lot of activity select ‘Low’.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Sensitivity
Motion Sensors’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Sensitivity Motion
Sensors’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (High, Medium, Low)
3.1.8 IR LED
This function allows you to set the brightness of the infrared LEDs.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘IR LED’
and press the OK button to enter the ‘IR LED’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (Auto, Super Fine, Economy).
Auto allows the camera to automatically adjust the brightness of the
LEDs based on the battery level. Super Fine sets the brightness of the

LEDs at the highest level and will reduce the battery life. Economy sets
the brightness of the LEDs at the lowest level, this will increase battery
life.
3.1.9 Time Lapse
This feature allows you to capture long sequences of events in a much
shorter time period.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Time
Lapse’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Time Lapse’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (Off, On)
3. If ‘On’ was selected the screen will display Hours, Minutes and Seconds.
4. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to change the selected time, press the OK
button to go to the next time slot.
5. When the duration is set press the MENU button to exit the ‘Time Lapse’
menu.
NOTE: By setting ‘10 Seconds’ the camera will capture a photo every 10
seconds and create a time lapse video. To disable Time Lapse recording,
select ‘Off’ in this submenu.
When Time Lapse is active, the motion sensor will be disabled.
3.1.10 Monitoring Period
This function allows you to set the time when the camera will capture
images.
1.
In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Monitoring
Period’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Monitoring Period’
submenu.
2.
Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (Off, On)
3.
If ‘On’ was selected there will four additional menu options below
‘Monitoring Period’.
4.
Use the UP or DOWN buttons to select one of the Timer Start or Timer
Stop options and press the OK button to enter the selected option.
5.
Use the UP or DOWN buttons to change the selected time, press the
OK button to go to the next time slot, when the time is set press the
MODE button to exit to the menu.
6.
When the start and end times are set the camera will now only record
during those times.
Note: Only one of the timer start and end times are needed to be set for the
monitoring period to work.
3.1.11 Record Audio

This function allows the camera to record audio while recording video.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Record
Audio’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Record Audio’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (Off, On)
3.1.12 Date/Time
This function allows you to set the current Date and Time on the camera.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Date/Time’
and press the OK button to enter the ‘Date/Time’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to change the highlighted field and
press the OK button to go to the next field.
3. The date format can also be set in this menu, in the last field press the
UP or DOWN buttons to switch formats (YY/MM/DD, MM/DD/YY,
DD/MM/YY), press the MODE button to confirm your selection and exit
the menu.
3.1.13 Time Format
This setting lets you select the time format, either 12 or 24 hour.

In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Time
Format’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Time Format’ submenu.

Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (12H, 24H)
3.1.14 Date Stamp
This function adds a date/time stamp to your photographs.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Date
Stamp’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Date Stamp’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button for your selected setting (Off, On).
Note that once a date stamp is captured on a photograph, it cannot be
removed.
3.1.15 Camera Name
This setting allows you to set the name of the camera.
1.
In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Camera
Name’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Camera Name’ submenu.
2.
Press the MODE button to switch the highlighted field.
3.
Press the UP or DOWN buttons to change the letter or number in the
highlighted field.
4.
Press the OK button to add the number or letter to the camera name.
5.
Press the mode button to highlight ‘Del’ if you wish to remove any of the

letters or numbers.
6.
When the name is set, press the MODE button until ‘OK’ is selected and
press the OK button to save the camera name and exit the menu.
3.1.16 Beep Sound
This setting allows you to turn the button press sounds on and off.
1.
In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Beep
Sound’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Beep Sound’ submenu.

Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and the OK button
for your selected setting (Off, On).
3.1.17 Language
This function allows you to set the camera’s interface language.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Language’
and press the OK button to enter the ‘Language’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected language.
3.1.18 Password Setting
This function allows you to set a 4 digit password to access the camera
when turning it on.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Password
Setting’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Password Setting’
submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and the OK button
for your selected setting (Off, On).
3. If ‘On’ was selected, set the password by pressing the UP or DOWN
buttons to change the number of the highlighted digit. Press the MODE
button to switch to the next digit.
4. After setting all 4 digits press the OK button to exit the ‘Password
Setting’ menu.
Note: Once password protection is turned on, you will be required to
enter the password each time you turn on the camera. If you forget the
password, the default password is 1111, this will give you access to the
camera.
3.1.19 Auto WIFI Off
This function allows the camera to turn WiFi off automatically after your
phone has been disconnected from it.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Auto WIFI
Off’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Auto WIFI Off’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK

button to confirm your selected setting (1 Minute, 2 Minutes, 3 Minutes)
3.1.20 Format
The format setting erases all photos, videos and data stored on your
memory card.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Format’
and press the OK button to enter the ‘Format’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu, press the OK
button for your selected setting (Cancel, OK).
NOTE: This will delete all of your media and cannot be undone.
3.1.21 Default Setting
Factory default settings can be restored in this menu. This function will not
delete the media stored on the memory card, and will only restore all of the
menu’s setting back to factory default settings.
1. In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Default
Setting’ and press the OK button to enter the ‘Default Setting’ submenu.
2. Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu, press the OK
button for your selected setting (Cancel, OK).
3.1.22 Version
This setting displays the current firmware version of your camera.
1.
In the Settings Menu use the UP or DOWN buttons to select ‘Version’
and press the OK button to view the firmware version.
2.
Press the OK button to return to the settings menu.

3.2 Camera Placement
After picking a location for the camera it is important to align the camera
properly so it captures the best images and videos possible. Follow the
steps below for proper camera alignment.
1.
Attach the camera to a tree or a similar object, using the included strap
or mounting bracket, at a height of 3-6 feet.
2.
Point the camera in the desired direction.
3.
Undo the latch and open the camera, slide the switch to SETUP, close
the camera and secure the latch.
4.
Position yourself in the target area and slowly walk past the camera.
5.
The motion test LED will blink blue when your movement is captured by
the main sensor and the LED will blink green when your movement is
captured by one of the side sensors, please note the LED only lights up
in setup mode.
6.
If you are not satisfied with the location readjust the camera placement
and repeat steps 1-5, if you are satisfied with the location slide the
switch to the ON position and close and latch the camera.
7.
The motion test LED will blink red for 5 seconds then the camera will
operate normally and will record any movement that activates the motion
sensors.
Note: To ensure that the camera doesn’t make unwanted recordings
of irrelevant movements, do not place the camera in a sunny location
or close to branches.
3.3 Video Recording
Power the camera on by sliding the switch to SETUP and it will be ready to
manually record videos. If the camera is in a different mode press the MODE
button to switch to Video Mode. A camcorder icon will appear in the top left
hand corner of the screen when you are in Video mode.
1. Line up your shot by looking at the LCD screen to see what is in view.
2. Hold the camera steady and press the OK button to begin recording.
3. When recording begins, a rolling timer will display in red in the top right hand
corner of the screen. This indicates the recorded video time elapsed.
4. Press the OK button to stop recording.
5. The recorded video files will automatically save onto the inserted
memory card.
3.4 Photo Shooting
Power the camera on by sliding the switch to SETUP, press the MODE
button to switch to Photo Mode. A camera icon will appear in the top left

hand corner of the screen when you are in Photo mode.
1. Line up your shot by looking at the LCD screen to see what is in view.
2. Hold the camera steady and press the OK button to capture a photo.
3. The photo files will automatically save onto the inserted memory card.
3.5 Playback Mode
Videos and photos captured on your camera can be easily played back.
Power the camera on and slide the switch to SETUP, then press the MODE
button to switch to playback mode. You can view the media by following the
steps below.
1.
In Playback Mode press the UP or DOWN buttons to cycle through the
captured videos and photos stored on the memory card.
2.
When viewing a video press the OK button to start playback, while the
video is playing press the UP button to fast forward, the DOWN button to
rewind, the OK button to pause and the MODE button to stop.
3.
Press the MODE button to exit Playback mode.
In Playback Mode the following options are available:
3.5.1
Delete Files
This function is used to delete the photos or videos.
1.
In Playback Mode press and hold the DOWN button, and use the UP or
DOWN buttons to select ‘Delete’ and press the OK button to enter the
‘Delete’ submenu.
2.
Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (Delete Current, Delete All).
3.
Press the MODE button to exit the menu without deleting any media.
Note: Once a file is deleted it is deleted permanently and cannot be
recovered.
3.5.2
Protect Files
This function allows you to protect the photo/video file. The file will be protected
from being deleted accidentally. Files must be unprotected to be deleted.
1.
In Playback Mode press and hold the DOWN button, and use the UP or
DOWN buttons to select ‘Protect’ and press the OK button to enter the
‘Protect’ submenu.
2.
Press the UP or DOWN buttons to navigate the menu and press the OK
button to confirm your selected setting (Lock Current, Unlock Current,
Lock All, Unlock All).

Press the MODE button to exit the Protect submenu without selecting

3.6 Wireless Connectivity
Your camera is equipped with WiFi, this allows you to connect your
smartphone to the camera. You can operate the trail camera from your
smartphone. You can change settings, record videos, capture images, view
recorded media and ensure proper placement when setting up your camera.
3.6.1
Connecting to the Camera
To wirelessly operate your camera you will need to install the “Hunting Cam
Pro” app on your Android or iOS device.
The camera can be operated remotely by following the steps below:
1. When the camera is in SETUP mode press and hold the UP button or
press and hold the ON button on the remote.
2. The screen will now display the WiFi network name and the password,
shown below:
3. On your smartphone connect to the network “Hunting Camera” then
enter the password “12345678”, once connected the camera screen will
show “WiFi Connected” as shown below:

4. On your smartphone open the “Hunting Cam Pro” app and select the
“Connect Camera” option, shown below:
5. You can exit WiFi mode in a few different ways.
a. Press and hold the UP button on the camera for 3 seconds.
b. Press the off button on the remote once, then a second time.
c. In the settings section on the app the last choice is “Quit WiFi” press
this to turn off the WiFi on the camera.
If you forget to turn off WiFi the camera will automatically exit WiFi mode
after a set amount of time, this can be set in section 3.1.19.

3.6.2
Operating the Hunting Cam Pro App
Once connected you will now be able to control your trail camera from your
smartphone. It will initially default to the video recording function. To
change from video, press the camera icon

3.6.2.1 Recording Videos Remotely
1.
To start recording a video, press the record icon at the bottom of your
smartphone screen.
2.
To stop recording press the record icon, the video will be automatically
saved to the memory card.
3.6.2.2 Taking Photos Remotely
1. To take a photo, press the photo icon to switch photo mode.
