IMPORTANT UNPACKING
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place the box on a large, sturdy,
flat surface.
2. Remove the instruction book and any
other literature.
3. Turn the box so that the back side of
the coffeemaker is down and slide the
coffeemaker from the box.
4. After the coffeemaker has been
removed, place the box out
of the way
and remove the packing materials.
5. Grasp the carafe by its handle, remove
it from the heating plate, and remove
the polybag.
6. Remove the polybag covering
the coffeemaker.
7. Remove protective label from digital
display before first use.
Save all packing materials
in case you have
to ship the machine in the future.
KEEP ALL PLASTIC BAGS AWAY

BEFORE FIRST USE
• Remove all packaging materials, labels
and/or stickers from your coffeemaker
• Clean your coffeemaker thoroughly before
using for the first time to clear any internal
residue.
Fill water tank to the maximum
water level mark.
Run a full brewing cycle
with water only, no coffee. Repeat this
procedure at least once.
ASSEMB LY
• Press the lid release button and open the
lid.
• Insert the filter basket. Make sure it locks
into place.
• Place the grinder basket into the filter
basket, positioning it so it rests securely on
the drive shaft.
CAUTION: The blades inside the grinder
basket are very sharp!
• Place the grinder basket lid on the grinder
basket. Close the coffeemaker cover.

OPERATING NOTICE
Clogging and backing up of water and/ or
coffee in the filter basket can occur under
any or a combination
of any of the following
conditions: The use
of too finely ground
coffee, using
two or more paper filters, using
the gold-tone filter
in conjunction
with a paper filter or not properly cleaning
coffee grounds from the gold-tone filter,
or
allowing coffee grounds to spill over
the filter.
Ca ution: Never open the filter basket during
the brewing cycle, even if no water
is
draining from the filter basket, because
extremely hot water/coffee can spill out from
the filter basket and cause injury. If water/
coffee is not draining from the filter basket
during the brewing cycle, unplug the unit and
wait 10 minutes before opening and
checking the filter basket.
BREWING
• Add the desired amount of coffee beans to
the grinder basket. For each cup
of coffee
add one tablespoon
of beans -add more
or less according to taste (approx. 2o z.).
HINT: If using pre-ground coffee, place the
desired amount into the grinder basket and
turn grinding function off (see pg.
8).
• Replace the grinder basket lid securely to
ensure safety while grinding coffee beans.
Do not attempt to operate this appliance
until the lid's white tab comes to rest on
the safety button.

• Close the coffeemaker cover. Do not force
the lid if it cannot be closed easily; this
might be a sign that the grinder basket
and/or filter basket have not been correctly
inserted.
• Fill the carafe with the desired
amount of
water and pour into the water tank. Check
the water level indicator inside the water
tank
to ensure you do not overfill the unit.
• Close the tank cover and place the carafe
on the coffeemaker.
• Insert the
power plug into a power outlet.
• Select the desired brewing
mode and pro-
gram and start the brewing process

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR
CONTROL PANEL
Plug into a power outlet to activate the
following default settings:
• Current time: 12:00 am
• Auto-On Time: 12:00 pm
• Grind function is enabled
• Grind
off LED is off
• LCD backlight turns on. If the appliance
is left unattended
for 15 minutes,
auto-powersaver
dims backlight by 50%.

PROGRAMMING YOUR
COFFEEMAKER
Setting the time
• Press and hold either Hour or Mins button
to enter clock mode. LEOs will light up and
time will blink.
• Press and release Hour button
to increase
time
in one-hour increments. Press and
hold to increase hours faster.
• Press and release Mins button to increase
time
in one-minute increments. Press and
hold
to increase minutes faster.
To exit the clock setting mode:
• Leave the control panel untouched for 5
seconds. Hour and Mins
LEOs go off; the
time stops flashing. The previously set time
is displayed.
• Press any button except the Hour
or Mins
buttons. Hour and Mins LEOs turn off and
previously set time
is displayed.
Programming Auto-On Function
You can program your coffeemaker to start
brewing automatically, up to 24 hours
in
advance!
• Press Program button. Current time
is dis-
played and Program
LED lights up.
• Press and hold Program button until Hour
and Mins LEOs light up. Time will start
flashing.
• Press and release Hour button to increase
time
in one-hour increments. Press and
hold
to increase hours faster.
• Press and release Mins button
to increase
time
in one-minute increments. Press and
hold to increase minutes faster.
To Turn Off the Auto-On Function
• The Auto- On function automatically turns
off when brew cycle
is complete.
•
To deactivate Auto-On function: Press
Program button a second time -Program
LED goes off.
•
To override Auto-On function: Press On /Off
button to start the coffee cycle manually -
Program
LED goes off.

To Exit the Auto-on function setting mode:
• Leave the control panel untouched for 5
seconds. Hour and Mins LEOs go off; the
time stops flashing. The new Auto-on time
is confirmed
• Press any button except the Hour
or Mins
buttons. Hour and Mins LEOs turn off and
the new Auto-on time
is confirmed
NOTE: The Auto-On time setting mode is
disabled if your coffeemaker is brewing or
grinding coffee at that moment. If the Auto-
On time is the current time, the coffeemaker
will start brewing at the programmed time on
the next day.
Programming 1-4 Cup Setting
This function adjusts the speed of the water
flow into the heater to improve the flavor
of
smaller quantities of brewed coffee.
• Activate
1-4 cups function: Press 1-4 cups
button; the
1-4 cups LED lights up.
• Deactivate
1-4 cups function: Press 1-4
cups button again; the 1-4 cups LED goes
off.
Hint: It is recommended that when brewing
ground coffee
or beans with the 1-4 cup
function, 1
V2 scoops (scoop provided) be
used per
cup . This is our recommended
quantity, and may be adjusted
to suit your
personal preference.
MAKING COFFEE
Making Coffee with Whole Beans
Press On/Off button. The On LED lights
up and LCD displays the current time.
• The grinder starts and grinds beans for
15 seconds.
• The brewing process begins.
• When brew cycle
is complete, the On
LED goes off and coffee maker enters
standby mode.
•
To switch off manually: Press On /Off
button.
Making Coffee with Pre-ground Coffee
• Press Grind off button. Grind Off LED lights
up to indicate grind function
is off.
• Press On/Off button to start brewing.

Grinding On/Off
Hint: Activate this function if you are using
coffee powder instead
of coffee beans.
• Deactivate grind function: Press Grind off
button once. The Grind off LED will turn
on.
• Activate grind function: Press Grind off
button again. The Grind off LED goes off.
Hint: The Grind off LED goes off and the
function resets after brewing
is finished or
if you turn off the unit. If you replug the
appliance, within one minute after a
tempo-
rary power failur e, Grind off remains in the
previous state except
in coffee cycle.
Memory Backup
Hint: The appliance
is equipped with a back-
up memory
in case of temporary power fail-
ure. Programmable information will be stored
in the memory for 1 minute. The coffee cycle
(manually or Auto-
On) can only be started by
pressing
On /Off or Program
button again.
Carafe Lid Operation
• Your Conair Cuisine coffee carafe was
made with safety
in mind, so please refer
to the image and directions at right
in order
to ensure proper use.
• To pour: Turn lid counterclockwise until
the OPEN marking (molded into carafe lid),
lines up with the arrow on the carafe
handle.
• To close: Turn lid clockwise until the
CLOSE marking (molded into carafe lid
),
lines up with the arrow on the carafe
handle.
Protection from Uncovered Lids
Hint: For your safety this appliance will not
operate unless
all lids are closed completely,
and will terminate the coffee cycle if opened
during operation.
• This appliance is equipped with a switch
to
detect the motion of the grinder basket lid
as well as the lid. If one
of these parts is
opened accidentally, the coffeemaker will
take following actions to prevent danger:
