1. Objectives, eld of application and conditions for use
The air ow regulator in the selected blast helmet needs to be replaced by the Contracor
CCT Air Conditioner.
The CCT Air Conditioner is used in a working environment where protection of the
respiratory organs, face and head is required against ricocheting medium, particles, mists,
vapors and gasses.
When the CCT Air Conditioner is connected to the compressed air system via the breathing
air supply hose and the BAF airline lter, the breathing air according to EN 12021
simultaneously passes via the red and blue outlets out of the device.
One outlet can be used to channel the treated breathing air via the helmet hose into the
blast helmet.
The required air ow can be adjusted by the regulator. The air ow indicator, which is
integrated in the blast helmet, displays whether sufcient air is passing into the blast
helmet
The Contracor CCT Air Conditioner is a device that can increase or decrease the tempera-
ture of the supplied air by approx. 20 °C, so improving the working conditions of the user.
CCT Air Conditioner can be used with Contracor blast helmet Comfort and North Safety
blast helmets Commander and Panorama.

1.1 Limitation of usage
The Contracor CCT Air Conditioner should at all times be used in combination with a blast
helmet with integrated air ow indicator.
Before the rst use of the equipment, the rapid removal of the gear needs to be practiced.
The system may be used solely by trained personnel, who are also fully aware of the haz-
ards applicable to the work being carried out.
The system is not suitable for working in areas with intense heat radiation, open re, risk of
explosion, or when extremely high concentrations of hazardous matter causing immediate
health risk are present.
It is not allowed to use oxygen or oxygen enriched air.
The maximum permissible length of the high pressure supply hose is 40 meters, the maxi-
mum permissible pressure is 7 bar.
The minimum permissible working pressure is 4.5 bar.
The ambient usage temperature should be within - 10 °C and + 60 °C.
When combined use is made of the compressed air, for both the Contracor CCT Air
Conditioner and the pneumatic tools (e.g. blast pot) it is necessary to ensure that, at the
maximum air consumption of the pneumatic tools, sufcient air is allowed to ow into the
air hood. If necessary, the working pressure can be adjusted.
When the ambient temperature is below freezing point, the humidity in the compressed
air circuit can result in icing-up of coupling or regulator, blocking the further supply of air.
In such cases it is necessary to determine prior to use that the humidity content in the
compressed air (at atmospheric pressure) is less then 50 mg/m3, and is in accordance
with EN 12021.
Generally available compressed air circuits do not usually comply with this requirement.
Exceptionally warm or cold compressed air, a long supply hose and an extreme ambient
temperature could affect the performance of the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner.
If the free outlet is blocked, the ow of breathing air will increase, reducing the degree of
cooling or heating of the supplied air.
Couplings and hose connections must be kept clean during connecting and disconnecting.
All user limitations regarding the chosen blast helmet remain applicable.

1.2 Usage
Safe use of the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner is solely guaranteed when used in combina-
tio n with Contracor or North Safety blast helmets.
Always comply with the instructions contained in this users manual for the chosen blast
helmet. This ensures the safety of the user, and the optimum operation of the Contracor
CCT Air Conditioner.
2. Installing the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner
Unbuckle the belt and remove air ow regulator from the belt.
2.1 By using of Contracor Comfort blast helmet
Connect with Contracor CCT Air Conditioner supplied screw connection nipple to the hel-
met air hose.
Screw the connection nipple hand tight only.
Unscrew air ow regulator from the helmet air hose. Store removed air regulator in a cool,
dry and dark location

Put Contracor CCT Air Conditioner on the belt with desired air outlet nipple on the top.
The red nipple supplies warmed breathing air, and cooled breathing air ows through the
blue hose nipple.
Place the hose piece, supplied with Contracor CCT Air Conditioner, over the connection
nipple one side and over the desired air outlet nipple other side.
Keeping the opening towards the body, slide two supplied hose clamps over the hose,
halfway on the hose nipples.
Firmly close the hose clamps, pressing with the thumb and the index nger.

2.2 By using of North Safety Commander or Panorama blast
helmets:
Unbuckle the belt and remove air ow regulator from the belt.

Fully release the original hose clamp.
Draw the hose piece from the original regulator.
Remove the original hose clamp, slide the buckle from the belt and store these together
with the original regulator.
Place the hose piece over the connection nipple one side and over the desired air outlet
nipple other side.
Keeping the opening towards the body, slide two supplied hose clamps over the hose,
halfway on the hose nipples.
Firmly close the hose clamps, pressing with the thumb and the index nger.
Put Contracor CCT Air Conditioner on the belt with desired air outlet nipple on the top.
The red nipple supplies warmed breathing air, and cooled breathing air ows through the
blue hose nipple.

3. Prior to use
Ensure that the compressor is switched on and that it has been set to the correct operat-
ing pressure. Check that the compressor is regularly inspected and maintained.
A worn and/or dirty compressor supplies polluted air that will not be cleaned by the lter
system! Make sure that the compressor cannot suck in any dangerous matter via the air
inlet.
Adjust the operating pressure on the BAF airline lter to a minimum of 4.5 bar. Connect
the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner via the brathing air supply hose to the BAF airline lter
system.
Make sure that the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner is correctly secured to the belt, that the
helmet connection of the hose for the breathing air is not leaking, and that the hose is
sufciently secured against inadvertent release. Refer to paragraph “Maintenance and
inspection”. Continue with a test run of at least 3 minutes when using the equipment for
the rst time.
4. During use
During use
Adjust the air volume according to requirements.
Contracor COMFORT
The desired temperature of the breathing air is reached within a short time.
The air ow indicator in the blast helmet will warn the user if insufcient air is supplied.
Immediately leave the working area if there is an interruption in the air supply.
Ensure that the breathing air supply hose cannot be trapped, causing interference with
the air supply or preventing a rapid departure from the work area. The Contracor CCT Air
Conditioner does not reduce the environmental noises. The use of supplementary audio
protection is mandatory. It is quite normal that a certain amount of air escapes from the
unused air outlet. Comply with the instructions relevant to the chosen blast helmet.

After leaving the working environment, disconnect the breathing air supply hose, release
the belt and remove the blast helmet. Clean and inspect the components according to
the instructions given in paragraphs «Cleaning and disinfecting» and «Maintenance and
inspection». When connecting and disconnecting, ensure that no pollution is allowed to
enter the open hose connections. Comply with the instructions relevant to the chosen blast
helmet.Clean and inspect the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner, as described in paragraph
«Cleaning and disinfecting» and «Maintenance and inspection». Check the hose system
for leakage. Check the functioning of the system. Refer to paragraph «Maintenance and
inspection».
6. Cleaning and disinfecting
After each use, clean the outside of the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner, using water and
a mild detergent (e.g. EW 80 from Tremonia Chemie, Dortmund). Then, wipe thoroughly
clean with a cloth soaked in clean water. Do not use any solvents. Using compressed air to
blow clean the coupling and the regulator. Finally, dry all the metal components with a dry
cloth to avoid corrosion. When cleaning, take care not to inhale hazardous matter that may
be released during the cleaning. Comply with the instructions relevant to the chosen blast
helmet.
7. Maintenance and inspection
7.1 Maintenance
As a result of intensive use and pollution of the compressed air system, it is possible that
after some time, the sound absorbers get blocked with oil or dirt. These can be replaced.
See chapter Spare Parts. To remove the lters, unscrew them by hands. After replacing the
components, carry out a functional check.
7.2 Functional check
After each cleaning, disinfecting or exchanging components, check the functioning of
the system. When the air ow is correctly adjusted and the air ow indicator shows that
insufcient air is  owing into the blast helmet, it is essential that the defect has to be
corrected rst. During this check, hold the blast helmet in the vertical (normal working)
position. Inspect all essential components for damage or pollution and, if required, replace
these by original spare parts.

Checking hose system for leakage: Adjust the supply pressure to 0.5 bar and then connect
the blast helmet to the BAF airline lter system, via the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner
and the breathing air supply hose. Using a suitable device, pinch the black air hose,
interrupting the supply to the blast helmet. Then, apply soapy water with a brush to the
possible areas causing the leakage. Soap bubbles clearly indicate any leakage. Comply
with the instructions relevant to the chosen blast helmet.
7.3 Maintenance schedule
Prior to initial use: Functional test and leakage inspection.
Prior to use: Performance check by the user, check of regulator valve.
After use: Cleaning and disinfecting of the complete system.
Every 6 months: Cleaning and disinfecting of the complete system.
Functional check and leakage inspection of the complete system.
Cleaning and disinfecting of the breathing air connections
Comply with the instructions relevant to the chosen blast helmet.
8. Storage
After use and cleaning, store the entire system in a cool, dry and dark location. Take
measures to ensure that no component parts of the system come into contact with oils,
grease, solvents, acids or other chemicals.
9. Faults / Troubleshooting
There is no air supply to the helmet:
The compressor is not switched on.
The condensation water in the compressed air system is frozen.
The breathing air supply hose is trapped.
The connections are incorrectly made.
Leakage from the compressed air system.
There is insuf cient air  ow to the helmet:
The supply pressure is too low.
The condensation water in the compressed air system is frozen.
There is a blockage in the lter system.
The breathing air supply hose is blocked or trapped.
The connections are blocked.
The sound absorbers for the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner are blocked.
The breathing air supply for the blast helmet is blocked.
The air ow indicator in the blast helmet is defective.
Insufcient temperature difference:
The supply pressure is too low.
Extremely hot or cold air from the compressor.
The effect of a high or low outdoor temperature on a long supply hose.
The sound absorbers are blocked by dirt or frozen condensation water.
The unused outlet is blocked.
The inside of the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner has been ruined by foreign matter in
the compressed air supply system.

Excessive air humidity, or excessive supply pressure, can cause the sound absorber on the
cold side to freeze. The air ow from the cold side will then reduce suddenly. Switch off the
Contracor CCT Air Conditioner. After a few minutes, the Contracor CCT Air Conditioner will
have thawed out, allowing the work to recommence. Reduce the supply pressure or change
the position of the regulator valve; so avoiding recurrence of the freezing. A defective
compressed air de-humidier or an air de-humidier with insufcient capacity could also be
the source of such problems.

change the specications mentioned in this manual without prior notication.
CONTRACOR will repair or, if necessary, replace this product free of charge in the event of a
material or manufacturing defect within 12 months of the purchase date, provided that the
product has only been subjected to normal usage in accordance with the user manual.
The warranty is invalidated if the type or serial number marking is modied, removed or
made illegible.

1. Ziele, Anwendungsbereiche und Bedingungen fur den
Gebrauch
Das Luftregelventil des gewahlten Strahlerschutzhelms muss durch das Contracor CCT
Klimagerat ersetzt werden.
Das Contracor CCT Klimagerat wird in Arbeitsumgebungen eingesetzt, in denen der
Schutz der Atemwege, des Gesichtes und des Kopfes gegen zuruckprallendes Strahlmittel,
Schadstoffteilchen, Nebel, Dampfe und Gase notig ist.
Immer, wenn das Contracor CCT Klimagerat uber den Pressluftschlauch und den BAF
Atemluftlter an das Pressluftnetz angeschlossen wird, stromt die nach EN 12021 ge
lterte Atemluft gleichzeitig aus der roten und der blauen Luftaustrittsoffnung des Gerates.
Eine Luftaustrittsoffnung kann dazu verwendet werden, die behandelte Atemluft uber den
Zufuhrschlauch in den Strahlerschutzhelm einzuleiten.
Mit Hilfe des Luftregelventils kann die gewunschte Luftmenge eingestellt werden.
Die in den Strahlerschutzhelm eingebaute Luftstromanzeige zeigt hierbei an, ob der
Atemschutzmaske ausreichend Luft zugefuhrt wird.
Das Contracor CCT Klimagerat ist ein Gerat, das die Temperatur der zugefuhrten Atem-
luft um ca. 20 °C abkuhlen bzw. erwarmen und somit die Arbeitsbedingungen fur den
Benutzer angenehmer gestalten kann.
CCT Air Klimagerat wird mit Contracor Strahlhelm Comfort oder North Safety Strahlhelme
Commander und Panorama verwendet.

1.1 Einschränkung der Verwendung
Die Benutzung des Contracor CCT Klimagerates hat immer in Kombination mit einem
Strahlerschutzhelm mit Luftstromanzeige zu erfolgen.
Vor dem ersten Gebrauch ist das schnelle Absetzen des Systems zu uben.
Das System darf ausschlieslich von geschulten Personen benutzt werden, die sich der
Gefahren der von Ihnen ausgefuhrten Arbeiten in vollem Umfang bewusst sind.
Das System eignet sich nicht fur Arbeiten in Raumen mit starker Warmestrahlung, offenem
Feuer, Explosionsgefahr oder extrem hohen Konzentrationen gefahrlicher Stoffe, die eine
unmittelbare Gefahr fur die Gesundheit darstellen.
Es darf kein Sauerstoff oder keine mit Sauerstoff angereicherte Luft verwendet werden.
Die maximale Lange des Pressluftschlauches betragt 40 Meter, der maximale Druck liegt
bei 7 bar.
Der Betriebsdruck mus mindestens 4,5 bar betragen.
Der Temperaturbereich fur den Gebrauch liegt zwischen -10 °C und +60 °C.
Bei kombiniertem Gebrauch des Pressluftschlauches fur sowohl das Contracor CCT
Klimagerat, als auch fur ein Werkzeug (z.B. Strahlgerät) mus sichergestellt werden, das bei
maximalem Luftverbrauch des Werkzeugs noch genugend Luft in den
Strahlhelm stromt. Falls erforderlich, kann der Arbeitsdruck nachgeregelt werden.
Bei einer Umgebungstemperatur unterhalb des Gefrierpunktes kann Feuchtigkeit im Press-
luftnetz zum Einfrieren von
Kupplungen oder Luftregelventilen fuhren, wodurch die Luftzufuhr blockiert werden kann.
In diesem Fall empehlt es sich, vor dem Gebrauch sicherzustellen, dass die Feuchtigkeit
in der Pressluft (bei atmospharischem Druck) kleiner als 50 mg/m3 ist und somit EN
12021 erfullt.
Handelsubliche Pressluftnetze erfullen diese Anforderungen in der Regel nicht.
Ausergewohnlich warme oder kalte Pressluft, ein langer Zufuhrschlauch und die Ausentem-
peratur konnen die Leistung des
Contracor CCT Klimagerates beeinussen.
Bei Blockierung der freien Ausstromoffnung erhoht sich der Atemluftstrom und das Aus-
mas der Kuhlung oder Erwarmung nimmt ab.
Kupplungen und Schlauchverbindungen mussen beim An- und Abkuppeln sauber gehalten
werden.
Des weiteren gelten alle Gebrauchsbeschrankungen des gewahlten Strahlhelms.

1.2 Gebrauch
Ausschlieslich in Kombination mit Contracor Strahlhelm Comfort oder North Safety
Strahlhelme Commader und Panorama kann eine sichere Arbeitsweise des Contracor CCT
Klimagerat garantiert werden.
Arbeiten Sie immer entsprechend den Anweisungen in dieser Gebrauchsanweisung und
der Gebrauchsanweisung des verwendeten Strahlhelms.
Dies garantiert die Sicherheit fur den Benutzer und den optimalen Betrieb des Contracor
CCT Klimagerates.
2. Installieren des Contracor CCT Klimagerates
Trennen sie den Atemluftregler von der Luftzufuhr.
Lösen sie den Gurt und nehmen sie den Atemluftregler ab.
2.1 Bei der Verwendung mit dem Contracor Comfort Strahlhelm
Verwenden sie zur Verbindung von Klimagerät Contracor CCT und Helmschlauch den
beigefügten Schraubnippel.
Ziehen sie den Nippel nur mit den Händen an.
Schrauben sie den Atemluftregler vom Helmschlauch ab.
Lagern sie den Atemluftregler an einem kühlen, trockenen und dunklen Ort.

Befestigen sie dann das Contracor CCT Klimagerät so am Gurt, dass der gewünschte
Anschluss nach oben zeigt.
Der rote Anschluss liefert erwärmte Atemluft und durch den blauen Schlauchanschluss
ießt gekühlte Atemluft.
Schieben sie das mitgelieferte Schlauchstück mit einem Ende über den Nippel am Helm-
schlauch und mit dem anderen über den gewünschten Anschlussnippel am Klimagerät.
Schieben sie die beiden mitgelieferten Schlauchschellen mit der Öffnung zum Körper über
das Schlauchstück, jeweils mittig über einem der Anschlussnippel.
Schließen sie die Schlauchschellen durch festen Druck mit Daumen und Zeigenger.

2.2 Bei der Verwendung mit North Safety Commander oder Pan-
orama Strahlhelmen:
Lösen sie den Gurt und nehmen sie den Atemluftregler ab.

Lösen sie die Schlauchschelle völlig.
Ziehen sie das Schlauchstück vom Originalregler ab.
Entfernen sie die Schlauchschelle und ziehen sie die Befestigung vom Gürtel ab.
Lagern sie diese Teile zusammen mit dem Originalregler.
Schieben sie das Schlauchstück über den gewünschten Anschlussnippel am Klimagerät.
Schieben sie eine der mitgelieferten Schlauchschellen mit der Öffnung zum Körper über
das Schlauchstück, mittig über dem Anschlussnippel.
Schließen sie die Schlauchschelle durch festen Druck mit Daumen und Zeigenger.
Befestigen sie dann das Contracor CCT Klimagerät so am Gurt, dass der gewünschte
Anschluss nach oben zeigt.
Der rote Anschluss liefert erwärmte Atemluft und durch den blauen Schlauchanschluss
ießt gekühlte Atemluft.

3. Vor dem Gebrauch
Sicher stellen, dass der Pressluftkompressor eingeschaltet und der richtige Betriebsdruck
am Kompressor eingestellt ist.
Sicherstellen, dass der Kompressor termingerecht inspiziert und instandgesetzt wird.
Ein verschlissener beziehungsweise verschmutzter Kompressor liefert verunreinigte Luft,
die nicht durch das Filtergerat
gereinigt wird!
Dafur sorgen, dass der Kompressor keine schadlichen Stoffe uber die Ansaugoffnung
ansaugen kann.
Den Betriebsdruck des BAF Atemluftlters auf minimal 4,5 bar einstellen. Das Contracor
CCT Klimagerat mit einem Pressluftschlauch an den BAF Atemluftlter anschließen.
Dafur sorgen, dass das Contracor CCT Klimagerat korrekt am Gurtel befestigt und der
Anschluss am Atemluftschlauch zum
Strahlhelm leckfrei und ausreichend gegen unbeabsichtigtes Losen gesichert ist. Das
Contracor CCT Klimagerat bei der ersten Inbetriebnahme mindestens drei Minuten probe-
laufen lassen.
4. Wahrend des Gebrauchs
Die Luftmenge den Bedurfnissen entsprechend einstellen.
Die gewunschte Temperatur der Atemluft wird nach kurzer Zeit erreicht.
Die Luftstromanzeige im Strahlhelm warnt den Benutzer, wenn die Luftzufuhr unzure-
ichend ist.
Im Falle einer Storung der Luftzufuhr sofort die Arbeitsumgebung verlassen.
Sicher stellen, dass der Pressluftschlauch wahrend der Arbeiten nicht eingeklemmt
werden kann, wodurch die Luftzufuhr blockiert wurde oder ein schnelles Verlassen der

Nach dem Verlassen der Arbeitsumgebung den Gurtel ablegen, den Strahlhelm abnehmen
und den Pressluftschlauch abkuppeln.
Die Einzelteile wie in Kapitel «Reinigung und Desinfektion» bzw. «Wartung und Prufung»
beschrieben reinigen und kontrollieren. Beim An- und Abkuppeln verhindern, dass
Verunreinigungen in die offenen Schlauchverbindungen gelangen konnen. Die
Anweisungen fur den gewahlten Strahlhelm befolgen.
Das Contracor CCT Klimagerat wie in den Kapitel «Reinigung und Desinfektion» und
«Wartung und Prufung» beschrieben reinigen und kontrollieren.
Das Schlauchsystem auf Dichtheit kontrollieren. Die Funktion des Systems uberprufen.

6. Reinigung und Desinfektion
Nach jedem Gebrauch die Ausenseite des Contracor CCT Klimagerates mit Wasser und
einem milden Reinigungsmittel (z.B. EW 80 von Tremonia Chemie, Dortmund) reinigen.
Danach grundlich mit einem in sauberem Wasser befeuchteten Tuch nachreiben. Keine
Losungsmittel verwenden! Das Luftregelventil und die Kupplung mit Pressluft reinigen. Um
Korrosion zu verhindern, anschliesend alle Metallteile mit einem trocknen Tuch trocken
reiben. Wahrend der Reinigung das Einatmen schadlicher Stoffe, die bei dieser Arbeit
freigesetzt werden konnen, vermeiden.Die Anweisungen fur den gewahlten Strahlhelm
befolgen.
7. Wartung und Prufung
7.1. Wartung
Infolge intensiver Nutzung und Verschmutzungen im Pressluftnetz konnen die
Gerauschdampfer nach einiger Zeit mit Ol und Schmutz verstopft werden. Diese konnen
ausgetauscht werden. Siehe Kapitel „Ersatzteile“. Die Filter konnen durch Losschrauben
mit einem geeigneten Schraubenzieher ausgetauscht werden.Nach dem Austauschen der
Teile eine Funktionsprufung durchfuhren.
7.2 Funktionsprufung
Nach jeder Reinigung, Desinfektion oder dem Austausch von Teilen das System auf
korrekte Funktion prufen. Wenn die Luftstromanzeige bei korrekt eingestelltem Druck
anzeigt, dass im Strahlhelm eine unzureichende Menge Luft stromt, muss diese
Storung zuerst behoben werden. Den Strahlhelm bei dieser Prufung in einer vertikalen
Position (normale Arbeitshaltung) halten. Alle wichtigen Teile auf Beschadigungen und
Verschmutzungen prufen und falls erforderlich durch Original-Ersatzteile ersetzen.Das
Schlauchsystem auf Dichtheit kontrollieren: Den Eingangsdruck auf 0,5 bar einstellen und
anschliesend den Strahlhelm uber das Contracor CCT Klimagerat und
