ATTENTION!
IMPORTANT WARNING FOR SAFER BLAST CLEANING
1. Tool operator and anyone within 50 feet of work area must wear
safety goggles.
2. Check for possible silicosis or other toxic hazards.
3. Do not blast with damaged or worn equipment.
4. Point nozzle only at area being cleaned.
5. Use only proper dry and well-screened abrasives specically
intended for blasting.
6. Keep unprotected workers out of the blast area.

3. Introduction. Setup and Operation.
Air Requirements
3.1 Introduction
The PBT-2 is a rugged, portable, high-production tool for blast cleaning the internal surface
of steel pipe. Its carriage adjusts for cleaning pipe from 12″ (300mm) to 36″ (900mm)
inside diameter.
The PBT-2 is a pneumatic tool that is used as an accessory to a standard blast machine.
Compressed air powers an air motor for control of the blast head rotation speed allowing
innite exibility for varying degrees of contamination of the steel surface.
The tool can be used with nozzles PBN-5.0 to PBN-9.5 and requires a minimum of 1¼″ID
blast hose.
3.2 Setup
The PBT-2 Blast tool attaches to the end of a pipe lance or blast hose in place of a standard
nozzle. The compressor and air supply lines must be sized to support a blast operation
at the pressure and air capacity shown in Paragraph 3.4.
The blast machine should have a minimum of 1¼″ piping. Minimum size blast hose or pipe
lance is as follows:
PBN-5.0 to PBN-8.0 nozzles use a 1¼″ I.D. blast hose or lance
PBN-9.5 and larger orice nozzles use a 1½″ I.D. blast hose or lance
Smaller diameter hose and lance could cause premature wear on the tool.
A ball valve is provided on the air motor inlet to adjust air motor speed.
An additional ½″ ID air hose is required to connect compressed air to the air motor.
A 20-micron lter should be installed in the air motor inlet path to remove dirt from the air
stream.
The PBT-2 Blast tool has a CFT-2 sandblast coupling connection for the pipe lance or blast
hose.
Attach to the pipe lance or blast hose a CFT, CQP or CQT coupling to connect it to the PBT-2
Blast tool.

Install the carriage legs and adjust the legs so the tool is approximately centered to pipe.
Place the tool inside the pipe and, if needed, make minor nal adjustment to center the tool
in the pipe. In some cases the legs may need to be shortened, or replaced with longer or
shorter pipe.
Attach an ½″ I.D. air line to the air motor quick coupling.
Connect a pipe lance or blast hose to the PBT-2 Blast tool.
ATTENTION!
Hose disconnection while under pressure could cause serious injury
or death. Use safety lock-pins and safety cables on all coupling
connections to help prevent hose couplings from accidental
disconnection.
3.3 Operation
Connect air lines, blast lines, and blast equipment as described in the applicable operation
manuals.
Push tool through pipe until blast head exits the opposite end.
Open air supply to air motor. Adjust air pressure or ow to rotate the blast head
at 40–60 rpm.
Pressurize blast machine and adjust abrasive ow to tool.
Pull tool back through pipe at a constant speed to achieve the desired degree of blast
cleanliness.
As the tool exits the pipe turn off air/abrasive supply from the blast machine.
NOTE: To avoid damage to the Pipe Blasting Tool, provide an exit ramp, platform or
structural support at the exit end of the pipe.
Turn off air supply to the air motor.

3.4 Air Requirements
The following table shows compressed air consumption (m3/min) at 8 bar working pressure
when nozzles are new and when they are considered worn (ca. 1,5mm larger than original).

The pneumatic drive motor requires additional ca. 1,5 m3/min of dry clean air for proper
operation.

4. Maintenance
Routine maintenance must be performed to achieve maximum blasting performance of this
Tool.
2–3 drops of 10mg weight lubricating oil should be added to the air inlet port on the
pneumatic motor before and after each daily use.
Remove the blast head at the end of each shift (8–10 hours) and clean the packing gland
and blast tube of all oil, dust and abrasive. Apply a thin layer of grease to the end of the
blast tube and slide the packing gland to the proper position.
Grease is lled into the PBT-2 air motor via the grease tting on the air motor body. Apply
grease until excess grease appears from the internal seal gland o-rings or seal.
Install the blast head on the PBT-2 Tool and tighten the lock nut to secure the head.
The blast head should be hand tight. Do not over tighten the blast head.

5. Warranty and
Warranty Service Regulations
Please ensure that this warranty card is lled in clearly and correctly by the seller organiza-
tion from which you purchased our product.
1. CONTRACOR warrants equipment manufactured by CONTRACOR to be free from defects
in workmanship preventing normal equipment operation during twelve months. This period
of time is calculated from the date of purchase lled in by the Seller organization (hereinaf-
ter referred to as “Seller”) in this warranty policy.
2. Obligations arising from this warranty are fullled by the Seller or authorized organiza-
tions. Please contact the Seller to obtain the list of authorized organizations.
3. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part only, the defect
of the part appeared during the period of warranty, without any payments by the purchaser
if conditions of the warranty are observed. Repair or replacement of defect parts will not
extend the warranty coverage on the equipment beyond the original expiration date.
4. Above-mentioned warranty term does not apply to assemblies and parts if in the user’s
guide supplied with the equipment a special warranty term is specied for these assemblies
and details.
5. This warranty is not applied to defects caused by improper use or use with violation of
intended use, wrong storage, drops or impacts, incorrect maintenance, damage caused by
freezing or use with violation of user’s manual requirements.
6. The warranty does not cover electric motor damage caused by one phase failure.
7. The warranty does not apply to the equipment with external mechanical defects.
8. This warranty does not cover consumable materials and the parts, which service life de-
pends on operation conditions: lters, high pressure and rubber hoses, nozzles, spray-guns,
seals, quick-release couplings, tip holders etc.
9. Natural wear and tear of equipment, caused by its operation with intensity inconsistent
with that specied in user’s manual and equipment function, is not covered by this war-
ranty.
10. Defects resulted from usage of the devices, accessories or consumable materials other
than offered by the equipment supplier, and in case of equipment modication not ap-
proved by the manufacturer or unauthorized repair of the equipment are not covered by this
warranty.

11. Costs for equipment shipment for warranty repair or trips of technicians for on-site
repair are to be covered by the buyer.
12. This warranty is given to the representative of the organization that purchased the
equipment and can not be transferred to another individual or organization.
13. The Seller disclaims liability for potential harm, directly or indirectly caused to people or
property in case this resulted from violation of the operation procedures, whether intended
or negligent by the purchaser or third parties.
14. Liability for any special, consequential or incidental damages (including but not limited
to loss of revenue or prot, downtime costs, loss of the use of the equipment, regardless of
cause or for breach of any written or implied warranty is expressly disclaimed.

1. Die Bedienungsperson und alle sich innerhalb eines Kreises
von 15m um den Arbeitsplatz sich bendenden Personen müssen
Sicherheitsbrillen tragen.
2. Überprüfen Sie auf Silikose oder sonstige Risiken.
3. Stahlen Sie nicht mit verschlissenem oder beschädigtem
Material.

3. Übersicht, Aufbau und Bedienung,
Druckluftverbrauch
3.1 Übersicht
Das PBT-2 Rohrinnenstrahlgerät ist ein robustes transportierbares Werkzeug mit hoher
Kapazität das für das Strahlreinigen von Stahlrohren mit Innendurchmesser 12" (300mm)
bis 36" (900mm).
Das PBT-2 ist ein pneumatisches Werkzeug das zusammen mit einer herkömmlichen
Sandstrahlmaschine verwendet wird. Druckluft treibt einen Luftmotor an, der den
Strahlkopf mit gleichbleibender Drehgeschwindigkeit rotiert. Die Rotationsgeschwindigkeit
kann variiert werden um eine hohe Flexibilität für die Reinigung mehr oder weniger stark
verschmutzte Innenächen zu erlauben.
Das Werkzeug wird mit Strahldüsen mit Düsendurchmesser 5,0 bis 9,5mm betrieben.
Es sollen mindestens Sandstrahlschläuche der Größe 1¼" (25mm) benutzt werden.
3.2 Aufbau
Das PBT-2 Rohrinnenstrahlgerät wird anstelle einer konventionellen Strahldüse verwendet.
Die Druckluftversorgung und die Druckluftleitungen müssen ausreichend dimensioniert
sein um den Betrieb zu gewährleisten, hierzu siehe Abschnitt 3.4.
Das Sandstrahlgerät soll mindestens mit Schläuche mit Durchmesser 1¼" angeschlossen
sein. Je nach Düsendurchmesser müssen größere Schläuche gewählt werden:
PBN-5,0 – PBN-8,0-Düsen benötigen eine Versorgung mit 1¼" Schlauchen oder Strahlrohr.
PBN-9,5-Düsen und größer benötigen eine Versorgung mit 1½" Schläuchen oder Strahlrohr.
Schläuche oder Strahlröhre mit kleinerem Durchmesser können durch erhöhten Verschleiß
zu verkürzter Lebensdauer führen.
Ein Kugelventil bendet sich an der Druckluftverbindung des Luftmotors
um die Rotationsgeschwindigkeit des Motors und entsprechend der Düse einzustel-
len. Zusätzlich wird ein ½" Druckluftschlauch für den Luftmotor benutzt. Für optimale
Ergebnisse sollte ein Filter für Partikel größer als 20µm in der Druckluftleitung des Motors
installiert werden um Staub und Verschmutzungen aus dem Luftstrom zu entfernen.
Das PBT-2 Rohrinnenstrahlgerät verfügt über eine CFT-2 Sandstrahlverbindung
um Strahlschlauch oder –rohr zu verbinden.

Der Strahlschlauch oder das Strahlrohr soll mit einer CFT-, CQP- oder CQT-Verbindung verse-
hen werden für eine sichere Verbindung zum PBT-2.
Montieren Sie die Beine an das PBT-2 und stellen Sie die Beine so ein, dass das Werkzeug
einigermaßen mittig in dem Rohr stehen wird.
Setzen Sie das Werkzeug in das Rohr. Wenn erforderlich, stellen Sie die Beine nach so dass
das PBT-2 mittig im Rohr steht. In manchen Fällen müssen die Beine gekürzt werden, oder
durch längeren oder kürzeren Rohrstücke ersetzt werden.
Schließen Sie den Luftmotor mittels einer ½"-Druckluftleitung an. Verbinden Sie das PBT-2
Rohrinnenstrahlgerät mit einem Sandstrahlgerät.
VORSICHT!
Die Trennung von Druckluft- und Strahlschläuchen während des Betriebs
kann Lebensgefährlich sein! Benutzen Sie Sicherheitsarretierbolzen und
Sicherkeitskabel auf alle Schlauchverbindungen um die Trennung von
Schläuchen zu verhindern.
3.3 Bedienung
Verbinden Sie sämtliche Luftleitungen, Strahlschläuche und Strahlgeräte wie beschrieben
in den dazugehörigen Bedienungsanleitungen.
Setzen sie das PBT-2 Rohrinnenstrahlgerät in das Rohr und schieben Sie es
bis die Strahldüse aus das Ende des Rohrs schaut. Öffnen Sie die Leitung
für die Druckluftversorgung des Luftmotors. Stellen Sie den Druck und den Luftstrom ein
für eine Rotationsgeschwindigkeit zwischen 40–60 U/min.
Setzen Sie das Sandstrahlgerät unter Druck und stellen Sie den Strahlmittelmassenstrom
zum Rohrinnenstrahlgerät ein.
Ziehen Sie das Rohrinnenstrahlgerät zu sich mit einer konstanten Geschwindigkeit, die an
den Grad der Verunreinigung angepasst ist, um eine saubere Innenäche zu erhalten.
Wenn das Rohrinnenstrahlgerät am Benutzer-Ende des Rohrs angekommen ist, schalten
Sie den Strahlmittelmassenstrom vom Sandstrahlgerät aus.

HINWEIS: Um Schäden am Rohrinnenstrahlgerät zu vermeiden, bauen Sie eine Rampe,
Bühne oder Abstützvorrichtung am Ende des Rohrs auf das das Werkzeug geschoben
werden kann.
Schalten Sie die Druckluftversorgung für den Luftmotor aus.
3.4 Druckluftversorgung
Aus der folgenden Tabelle sind die erforderlichen Druckluftmengen zu entnehmen bei 8bar
Arbeitsdruck bei neuer und verschlissener (Durchmesser ca. 1,5mm größer als neu) Düse.

4. Wartung
Das Gerät muss regelmäßig gewartet werden für optimale Strahlergebnisse.
2 bis 3 Tropfen Schmieröl (Masse 10mg) sollen täglich vor und nach Gebrauch
des Rohrinnenstrahlgeräts in den Lufteintritt des Luftmotors gespritzt werden.
Entfernen Sie den Strahlkopf am Ende der Schicht oder alle 8–10 Stunden und entfer-
nen Sie aus der Stopfbüchsenpackung Öl, Staub und Strahlmittelreste. Schmieren Sie
eine dünne Schichte Schmierfett auf das Ende des Strahlschlauchs und schieben Sie
die Stopfbüchsenpackung zurück in Position.
Schmierfett für den Luftmotor kann in durch eine Schmiernippel an dem Gehäuse
des Luftmotors eingefüllt werden. Füllen Sie Fett so lange ein bis man Fett an den internen
O-Ringen oder Dichtungen sehen kann.
Montieren Sie den Strahlkopf auf das PBT-2 Rohrinnenstrahlgerät und sichern Sie
den Strahlkopf durch anziehen der Kontermutter. Dies sollte nur Handfest geschehen.
Ziehen Sie die Kontermutter nicht zu fest an!

5. Garantieleistungen und –bedingungen
Bitte achten Sie darauf, dass die Garantiekarte vom Verkäufer deutlich, richtig und vollstän-
dig ausgefüllt wird.
1. Die Firma CONTRACOR gewährleistet, dass die von ihr hergestellten Produkte (im
Folgenden Equipment genannt) frei von Herstellungsfehlern sind und gewährt eine
Garantie von 12 Monaten. Dieser Zeitraum beginnt mit dem vom Händler in der Ga-
rantiekarte eingetragenen Kaufdatum.
2. Aus dieser Garantie entstehende Verpichtungen werden vom Händler oder autori-
sierten Organisationen/Werkstätten wahrgenommen. Bitte fragen Sie Ihren Händler
nach einer Liste der autorisierten Organisationen.
3. Die Garantie erstreckt sich nur auf die kostenlose Reparatur oder den Ersatz eines
defekten Teils, wenn der Defekt innerhalb der Garantiezeit auftritt und die Garantie-
bedingungen eingehalten wurden. Der Ersatz oder die Reparatur eines Teils verlän-
gern den ursprünglichen Garantiezeitraum nicht.
4. Die oben angeführten Garantiebedingungen gelten nicht für die Teile des Equip-
ments, für die eigene, spezielle Garantiebedingungen in der mitgelieferten Bedie-
nungsanleitung angegeben werden.
5. Diese Garantie gilt nicht für Schäden hervorgerufen durch unsachgemäßen Gebrauch
oder Gebrauch für einen anderen als den vorgesehenen Zweck, falsche Lagerung,
Stürze oder Stöße, falsche Wartung, Beschädigung durch Frost oder Gebrauch, der
nicht mit den in der Bedienungsanleitung aufgeführten Nutzungsregeln überein-
stimmt.
6. Diese Garantie deckt keine Elektromotorschäden ab, die durch Fehler in der Strom-
versorgung hervorgerufen werden.
7. Diese Garantie gilt nicht für Schäden, die durch äußere, mechanische Einüsse
verursacht wurden.
8. Diese Garantie erstreckt sich nicht auf Verbrauchsmaterial und Verschleissteile wie
Filter, Hochdruck- oder Gummischläuche, Düsen, Dichtungen, Schlauchkupplungen,
