WARNING: The operator/caregiver must read and understand
this manual prior to operating this equipment. If you are unable
to understand any part of the manual, contact your supplier for
assistance.
WARNING: The weight carried by the TrekkerTM seating module on the
YoYo frame must never exceed the total weight limit of the gas strut
(650N - 75lbs / 800N - 110lbs).
(Maximum occupant size plus any items carried.)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of an accident:
• ALWAYS carefully read the User Guide and get comfortable
operating the YoYo.
• ALWAYS watch for obstacles and avoid them as often as
possible.
• MAKE SURE that the YoYo operates properly. Repair any
problems before use.
• ALWAYS secure the user into the YoYo during use.
• ALWAYS use indoors on smooth and level surfaces.
• ALWAYS engage all four of the YoYo frame caster wheel
locks before transferring user into and out of the seat.
WARNING: The YoYo frame is not a transit model and should never be
used to transport the occupant in a motor vehicle or bus.
FRAME LABEL WARNING
WARNING: The YoYo frame is intended to be used indoors on smooth
and level surfaces.
WARNING: Do not move occupant in the YoYo frame over incline or
decline ramps.
WARNING: Engage all YoYo frames caster wheel locks when raising,
lowering, or transferring an occupant.
WARNING: Keep objects and obstructions away from the YoYo frame
when raising, lowering or moving the frame.
WARNING: When transferring occupant into or out of the seating
module on the YoYo frame and when moving the YoYo frame with an
occupant, the seating module should be tilted to the maximum tilt
range of 30 degrees to ensure balance and stability of the frame.
WARNING: Always lock the YoYo foot pedal when the desired seat
height is reached.
WARNING: The Trekker Seating Module only interfaces with the front
of the YoYo docking platform.

WARNING: The Trekker Seating Module with after-market seating is not
compatible with the YoYo frame.
WARNING: Never leave the occupant unattended in the chair even when they
are strapped in and the caster locks are engaged.
WARNING: Changes & adjustments

To Remove Frame from Box:
1. Place box at on the oor.
2. Verify that package is in good shape and no damage has occurred during
shipping.
3. Pull frame out using both hands, with hand on each side of the frame.
4. Do not pull on any cables on the YoYo frame.
5. Secure cables from binding on any objects when transporting chair.
Preparing the Frame for Use
Once you have all components as ordered, the directions for use in this User Guide will
guide you through the process of preparing the YoYo frame for use.
Convaid recommends the initial tting, adjustments, and set-up take place with the help of
your Convaid Authorized Dealer. However, if the instructions contained in this manual are
followed carefully, a caregiver or attendant will be able to set up the YoYo frame.

Foot Pedal Security Lock
For safety, the foot pedal on the YoYo frame can be
locked by engaging the pull pin, indicated by the red
arrow. FIG.5
To unlock
Pull the pin out and rotate 90 degrees to free the pin from
it’s locking position. the pedal can now move up and down
freely when operated by the foot. FIG.10
To lock
Rotate the locking pin until it retracts into the open slot
with pull pin to fully engaged into the foot pedal. FIG.11
NOTE: To reduce the risk of an accident: Always keep the
security lock pin engaged when the height of the seating
system is not being adjusted. This will ensure that the foot
pedal will not be activated accidentally.

Note: When lowering the YoYo without the occupant and/or the seating module, a signicant force may
be required to collapse the frame for storage. Use proper care and always ensure that all caster locks are
fully engaged when attempting this operation.
Frame Height Adjustment
The seat to oor height is adjustable by using the
foot pedal to raise or lower the occupant to the
desired height. The height can be adjusted with
or without a seating module. FIG.13
Before adjusting the seat to oor height of the
YoYo frame, always check that the foot pedal is
unlocked FIG.10, FIG.12 and the caster wheels
have been locked. (See Page 11)

Removing Trekker Seating Module from
YoYo Hi-Lo Frame
WARNING: Always remove the occupant from the chair before removing the seating module from the YoYo
frame. Removal of the seating module is only intended for facilitating, lifting and transportation of the
chair. The occupant should never be placed in the seating module if it is not properly attached to the YoYo
frame. The YoYo frame should not be used if the seating module assembly is not properly installed.

WARNING: In preparation to operate the tilt:
• Always verify that the arms of the user are
stable and within the frame.
• Always verify that the user’s legs are stable and
on the foot support.
• Never place hands, feet or foreign objects into
the tilt mechanism area.
• Never add accessories that are not specically
designed for the TrekkerTM Seating Module, as
they may interfere with the tilt mechanism.
• Never allow the user’s head to tilt/recline
beyond the horizontal plane to the oor.
• Never operate the tilt mechanism without
having a rm hold of the push handle.
• When tilting the chair, be aware that a change in
angle can create a sudden shift.
Tilt-in-Space Adjustment
The YoYo is equipped with a tilt-in-space mechanism.
The tilt-in-space range in the is -10º anterior to 30º posterior. FIG.33a

To Adjust the Tilt Angle:
1. Move the user to the desired tilt angle while holding the handle and the tilt lever.
2. With your left hand, hold onto the handle on the back of the seating module,to support the
weight of the occupant. FIG.33b
3. With your right hand, squeeze the tilt lever on the handle. FIG.33b
4. Release the lever to engage the tilt lock. FIG.33b
WARNING: When activating the tilt, gradually squeeze the lever to
allow the care giver to support the weight.
