LCD Display
The remote keyboard has an LCD display which displays the unit name, date, time,
and unit number.
Changing the contrast of the LCD display
It is possible to change the contrast of the LCD display, to change the contrast:
1. Tap the UNIT SELECT key.
2. Tap the ñor òkeys to increase or decrease the contrast from 1 to 15 (default
setting is 8)
3. Tap the UNIT SELECT key again to go back to normal operation.
Recalibrating the joystick
If the telemetry camera drifts when it is not being used, the joystick may have to be re-
calibrated. To do this:
1. Un-plug the keyboard from the system.
2. Press and hold the [(star) button.
3. The keyboard will beep. Rotate the joystick 360°until the camera key LEDs stop
flashing.
4. Twist the joystick fully left and right until the cameras key LEDs stop flashing.
5. The joystick is now calibrated, press the [(star) button again to access the unit.
Changing the Keyboard address
It may be necessary to change the keyboard address if you have multiple keyboards
on the same system To change the keyboard address:
1. Connect the keyboard to the 485-bus port whilst holding down the UNIT SELECT
key.
2. Press a camera key to set the keyboard to that keyboard address.
3. The keyboard address is now configured.

Connecting the Remote keyboard
The remote keyboard is supplied with a 2m length of 485-bus cable; this is used to
connect the keyboard to either of the 485-bus ports on the D4, Digital Sprite 2, or BX2
unit.
The remote keyboard can also be connected over longer distances, up to 1500m
(4900ft), using 2 junction boxes (DM/JBX), a 12v 1A PSU, and the required length of
twisted pair cable, for example CAT5.
Up to 16 keyboards can be connected to a Digital Sprite 2, or BX2 (only one keyboard
can be connected to a D4).
Operating Digital Sprite 2 from the remote keyboard
The remote keyboard has the same functionality as the front panel keyboard, but gives
the following additional benefits:
•Control of telemetry connected to the Digital Sprite 2, BX2, or D4.
•Control of multiple units from a single keyboard. (Not available on D4)
•Panic alarm.
Description of keys:
Key Function
HOLD Toggle freeze frame on and off
LIVE Selects Live mode
SPOT Selects operation of the spot monitor
FULL Selects a full screen display
Toggle sequence on and off, press and hold to edit the sequence.
Select picture in picture display, press and hold to edit the display.
Select quad display, press and hold to edit the display.
Select multiscreen display, tap to switch displays to 9, 8+2, 12+1,
and 16 way views. Press and hold to edit the display.
PANIC
Toggle the panic alarm on and off, the keyboard will ‘beep’ when
the panic alarm is on.
UNIT SELECT
Press ‘UNIT SELECT’ followed by a camera key to log onto
another unit.

Press to enter telemetry commands with certain receivers.
MENU
Tap to enter the User menu, press and hold to enter the Installer
menu.
EVENT
SEARCHTap to enter the Event Log, press and hold to filter the event log.
GOTO
Tap to go to a specified time and date
COPY
Press and hold to enter the copy menu (see the operating card for
details of copying to CD)
ENTER
Tap to enter a value. For example, Preset 01 could be entered as
preset 1 [ENTER]

Use the VCR style buttons to playback images from the disk.

Camera keys, press to select a camera to display.
Zoom in (or twist the joystick clockwise)
Zoom out (or twist the joystick anti-clockwise)
PATROL
Toggle the Patrol mode on and off
FOCUS NEAR Press and hold to focus near
FOCUS FAR Press and hold to focus far
AUTO PAN Toggle the auto-pan function on and off.
Press and hold to close the iris
Press and hold to open the iris
Toggle lights on and off
Press to wash (momentary latch)
Toggle wipe on and off
Note: The above features are only applicable if the telemetry receiver or dome
supports them (check with the dome manufacturer).
