2. General description
Four Dust Control Units have been developed under
the name TERA, and all have very similar components
and options. The TERA range features the models 45,
60, 75 and 90, with the number representing the
maximum spraying distance in meters.
The unique thing about the Tera Dust Control Unit is
that droplet size can be configured irrespective of
water quantity!
The Dehaco TERA has been developed for outdoor
use. This easily portable and configurable unit has
been produced to spray very fine water for dust
control during demolition and renovation activities,
but can also be used for a variety of other industrial
purposes where dust control is needed.
A small revolving disc transforms the added water into
a fine spray, which is then spread by the ventilator.
Because the ventilator speed, water supply and
atomization unit can be fully adjusted, it is possible to
modify droplet size, spray quantity and distribution to
suit any situation!
All TERA models are standardly supplied on a
mounting base, a manual height adjuster with spindle
and a solid control panel with buttons.

5.2 Wear parts
Wear parts are components found inside the machine,
which do not fall under the guarantee due to increased
contact with the product.
The wear parts in this machine include:
None.
5.3 Noise emissions
When this user manual was being written, noise levels
in the immediate surroundings of the Dust Control
Unit during operation had not yet been measured.
However, experience with prototypes and past series
has been used to determine that noise emissions
when the machine is operational amount to > 70 dB(A)
at a distance of 1 m.
WARNING!!
Use hearing protection if you work in the
immediate surroundings of the machine.
The estimated noise level causes Dehaco to strongly
recommend wearing hearing protection, although
there are currently no measurements to support this
stance.
5.4 EMC
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) relates to
electrical devices interfering with other devices or are
interfered with by other devices and residual current.
The applied Bonfiglioli frequency adjusters comply
with the standards for use in an industrial
environment (NEN-EN 61800-3).
If higher EMC requirements are needed for specific
applications of the TERA, then an optional choke coil
or line filter is available.
Please contact your dealer or DEHACO for a custom
solution.

9. Use
9.1 Set-up
TAKE NOTE!!
First rinse the water hose before it is
connected!
This helps to prevent dust or debris,
which was already in the hose, from
polluting and/or blocking the spraying
unit!!
TAKE NOTE!! IMPORTANT!!
Water pressure in the supply pipe must
be maximum 6 bar!!
Possibly check this using a manometer!!
1. Determine the most suitable location for
setting up the TERA: As close as possible to the
product that must be sprayed, but far enough
to operate without being hindered! When
doing so, consider: the power cable (do not
always drive over it!!), water supply, wind
direction, spraying distance and swivel range.
2. Place the Dust Control Unit on a smooth,
hardened and reasonably horizontal surface.
3. For a trailer-based TERA: Activate the brake on
the trailer and uncouple it. Lower both
support pillars at the rear, so the trailer
remains stable and does not bounce.
4. Rinse the water hose, clean the coupling and
connect it to the water supply.
5. Check the power cable for damage (first repair
damage!!) and then connect the power cable.
6. The frequency regulator will now start; the
touchscreen will also start up if applicable.
7. Release both movement blocks to activate the
swivel function (photo)!!
8. Make sure the emergency stop button is not
activated.
9. Reset the water meter if required.

11. Malfunctions.
WARNING!
Make sure that malfunctions are only
repaired by qualified and experienced
personnel, and only use original spare
parts.
This will guarantee the safety of the
machine!!
The TERA does not start:
• Check the emergency stop button; is it off?
• Check the power supply
(are all phases present?).
• Switch everything off, wait 30 seconds for the
frequency regulator to reinitialize, and then
restart.
The TERA does not generate enough water
output:
• Check the capacity of the water supply.
• Check the water hose
(trapped/damaged/leaking?).
• Clean the water filter in the base of the TERA:
The water filter is located next to the water
meter (photo, arrow).
- Open the filter and clean the element.
- Carefully replace the filter element.
The TERA malfunction after a short period: the
blue light is illuminated (phase error).
Sometimes the red light is illuminated too (error
frequency inverter)
• Check the extension lead(s): the cross-section
of the leads must be of a sufficient size,
depending on the length. This is a common
problem by an increased distance between
generator and TERA.
Use an extension lead with a larger cross-

12. Legionella prevention
Legionella is a group of bacteria that can cause
legionnaires' disease. Infection occurs when bacteria
are inhaled in very small droplets of water, which
disperse in the air (showers, whirlpool, Dust Control
Units). Bacteria can grow at 20-50 °C in static water.
Simple basic prevention measures:
• Always use tap water.
• Rinse the water hose before connecting it.
• Carefully empty the Dehaco TERA after use.
TAKE NOTE!!
Users are personally responsible for
legionella prevention; for further
information, please visit www.rivm.nl
You have been warned!!
The Dehaco TERA is compatible with an optional UV
system, which can kill any legionella bacteria by
exposing water to UV light.
Also see chapter 17.4 Options. UV system.
