SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
21. SLOPES
• Do not mow excessively steep slopes.
• Exercise extreme caution when on slopes.
• Mow across the face of slopes, never up and down and exercise extreme caution when changing direction
on slopes.
• Never leave the mower unattended on a slope.
22. Normally start mowing in low gear until you are sure of the speed needed for the task.
23. Stop the blades when crossing surfaces other than grass and when transporting the mower to and from the
area to be mowed.
24. Do not operate the engine in a confined space where dangerous fumes can collect.
25. Stop the engine before refuelling and whenever you leave the mower.
26. Watch out for traffic when crossing or near roadways.
27. STOP THE ENGINE AND DISCONNECT THE SPARK-PLUG LEAD
• Before clearing blockages or unclogging chute:
• Before checking, cleaning or working on the mower:
• After striking a foreign object. (Inspect the mower for damage and make repairs before restarting and
operating the mower).
• If mower starts to vibrate abnormally, stop the engine immediately.
28. STORAGE SAFETY
• Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.
• Do not use pressure-cleaning equipment.
• Never store the equipment with petrol in the tank inside a building where fumes can reach an open ame
or spark.
• Allow the engine to cool before storing in any enclosure.
• To reduce re hazard, keep the engine, mufer and petrol storage area free of grass, leaves, or excessive
grease.
• If the fuel tank has to be drained, do this out-doors and away from sources of ignition.
• Store fuel in a cool place in a designated fuel container. Metal containers are preferred and only plastic
containers specifically designed for holding fuel are suitable.
• Turn fuel tap off when storing the mower.
29. MAINTENANCE SAFETY
• Replace worn or damaged parts for safety, especially the blades.
• Replace faulty mufer.
• Do not change the engine governor settings or over speed the engine. Operating an engine at excessive
speed can increase the hazard to personal injury.
• Be careful during adjustment of the mower to prevent entrapment of the ngers between moving blades
and fixed parts of the mower.
Do not modify this mower in any way, or use the mower without shields or guards
in place. They are for your protection!
