Introduction

Thank you for choosing DICOTA Beat, a user-customized super perfor-

mance gamepad with 8 ultra-sensitive buttons specially designed for all

action-oriented games and educational programs. This USB gamepad is

equipped with well positioned buttons ensuring your gaming comfort and

is intended for use under Microsoft Windows 98/2000/ME/XP/Vista. This

user’s guide will provide you with the necessary information for easy instal-

lation and basic operation of this gamepad.

Hardware overview

The diagram below shows the function of each button on your gamepad.

• Button 1–8: Functional buttons.

• D-Pad: 8-way control pad.

• Turbo: Turbo functions – Press “Turbo” and “Functional buttons” toge-

ther if you want to activate Turbo Function as corresponding buttons.

Note: ONLY one functional buttons can work as turbo functional

at the same time.

• Clear: Clear Function – Press “Clear” and “preset turbo button” toge-

ther if you want to deactivate the Turbo Function.

Installation

Attention: Please install the software before connecting DICOTA Beat

to your computer.

a) Software Installation

1. Insert the Installation CD into your CD-ROM; wait for a few seconds for

your computer to load the disc.

2. If your system is setup to automatically read a new inserted CD, then

the autorun program will be executed and the welcome screen for

installation will appear. Please follow the on-screen installation instruc-

tions.

3. If your system does not launch the installation software automatically,

please find the file “Install.bat”, which is located in the directory of

your CD drive and doublelick it, then follow the on-screen installation

instructions.

The installation procedure:

• Install Shield Wizard information: The system is ready to install, click

“Next ”.

• The copyright agreement: Select “Agree” and click “Next”.

• User information: Key in “User name” and “Company”. If your

system is Window 2000/XP/Vista, select an appropriate usage limit.

• Confirm to start install: Click “Install”.

• Finish the install: Click “Finish”.

4. Upon completing software installation, restart your PC as the installa-

tion screen requests.

b) Hardware Installation

1. Connect the gamepad plug with a USB port or a USB hub and ensure it

is connected correctly.

2. After it is connected, the monitor will show the message “New hard-

ware found” and the standard USB driver will be located for you to be

able finish the easy installation and play games immediately.

3. The system will add an item in the game-controller board automatically,

and you can test the function of gamepad buttons and vibration.

Set-up in Windows System

After setting up the hardware, Windows®will auto-detect the USB device.

Then, start to set-up and configure your gamepad.

a. Select Start \ Setting \ Control Panel \ Game Controllers and

Joysticks.

b. Select the right gamepad “USB, 2-axis 8-button gamepad” from the

Game Controller Menu.

c. Click on “Properties” and then “Calibrate”.

d. When the “Controller Calibration” page appears, you can calibrate

the gamepad button functions. If it doesn’t work properly, you have to

configure via the “Settings” page as below:

1) Set the gamepad center position, and then press any gamepad

button.

2) Select the range of motion and turn the directional pad 2 or 3 turns,

then press any gamepad button.

3) Confirm the center and press any gamepad button.

4) Click on “Finish” and back to the Game Controller Properties page.

5) Click on “Test page”. Please turn the directional pad and press each

functioning button on your gamepad to test the adjustments. If all

functions are correct, then click on “OK”.

Note:

If the device does not work properly, it means that the above

calibration failed. Please repeat the above calibration again until

the calibration procedure is exactly performed.

e. Back to Game Controller “Properties” page, and click on “OK” or

“Apply” to complete the calibration procedure.

You are now ready to start up the game software for fun.

Important:

• Once the gamepad is properly plugged to your PC but it seems does

not work with the game, please enter the Game Controller Setting in

Control Panel and select “Advanced” page to check whether the USB,

2-axis 8-button gamepad ID is the “Joystick 1” or not.

• Note: When there is only one game controller connected to your PC,

this gamepad must be the “Joystick 1” towork properly. If the game-

pad is not “Joystick 1”, please remove it from the Game Controllers

Setting in the Control Panel, as well as other installed joysticks. Subse-

quently re-install the gamepad and complete the calibration procedure,

then it will work as usual.

Attention

1. Make sure your software supports the Game Controller/Joystick.

2. Not every game requires all functioning buttons (8 buttons in total) on

your gamepad. If you find some buttons do not work inside the game,

please check the game settings.

3. The function of the gamepad buttons may vary in different games.

Before changing the game settings inside the game, always read the

game manual carefully to configure the best game settings.

4. Your Mini Gamepad needs little care and services. You may clean

it with a damp cloth periodically. Do not use abrasive cleaners of

any type and do not spray liquid cleaners directly on your game-

pad. Any fluid leaks inside the joystick may cause unexpected

damages.

This symbol (crossed out bin wheelie symbol according to

WEEE Annex IV) indicates separate collection of waste elec-

trical and electronic equipment in the EU countries. Please do

not throw the equipment into the domestic refuse. Please use

the return and collection systems available in your country for

the disposal of this product.

Installation

Hinweis: Bitte installieren Sie die Software vor der Inbetriebnahme

von DICOTA Beat.

a) Software-Installation

1. Legen Sie die Installations-CD in das CD-Laufwerk und warten Sie ein

paar Sekunden, bis Ihr Computer die CD geladen hat.

2. Wenn Ihr System so aufgesetzt ist, automatisch neue CDs zu lesen,

wird der Autostart den Installationsbildschirm selbsttätig aufrufen.

Folgen Sie den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm, um das Programm

zu installieren.

3. Falls Ihr System die Installationssoftware nicht automatisch startet,

doppelklicken Sie bitte die Datei “Install.bat”, welche sich auf der CD

befindet und folgen Sie dann den Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.

Die Installation läuft wie folgt ab:

• Install Shield Wizard Information: Das System ist bereit zur Installa-

tion, klicken Sie auf “Weiter”.

• Stimmen Sie dem Copyright-Hinweis mit “Zustimmen” zu und

klicken Sie auf “Weiter”.

• Benutzerhinweis: Tippen Sie einen Nutzernamen und eine Firma ein,

falls Sie ein Betriebssystem Window 2000/XP/Vista haben, und wäh-

len Sie eine entsprechende Nutzungsbegrenzung.

• Bestätigen Sie, um die Installation zu starten:

Klicken Sie “Installieren”.

• Schließen Sie die Installation ab: Klicken Sie “Beenden”.

4. Starten Sie Ihren Rechner nach Abschluss der Installation neu, wie

auch auf dem Installationsbildschirm angezeigt.

b) Hardware-Installation

1. Schließen Sie das Gamepad mit dem USB-Kabel an einen verfügbaren

USB-Anschluss an.

2. Nach dem Anschließen wird der Bildschirm die Meldung “Neue

Hardware gefunden” anzeigen und der Standard USB-Treiber wird

lokalisiert, um die einfache Installation abzuschließen und eine sofortige

Nutzung des Gamepads zu ermöglichen.

3. Das System wird automatisch einen Menüeintrag für das Gamepad

erstellen, über den Sie die Funktionen der Tasten und der Vibrations-

funktion testen können.

Einstellungen auf einem Windows-System

Nach der Installation der Hardware wird das Windows®-Betriebssystem

automatisch das USB-Gerät erkennen und Sie können das Gamepad

konfigurieren.

a. Wählen Sie Start \ Einstellungen \ Systemsteuerung \ System \

Geräte-Manager \ Audio-, Video-, und Gamecontroller.

b. Wählen Sie das Gamepad “USB, 2-axis 8-button gamepad” aus

diesem Menü.

c. Klicken Sie “Einstellungen” und dann “Kalibrieren”.

d. Wenn das Fenster “Controller Kalibration” erscheint, können Sie hier

die Tastenfunktionen einstellen. Sollte dies nicht korrekt funktionieren,

können Sie das Gamepad über das Einstellungsmenü wie folgt konfi-

gurieren:

1) Stellen Sie das Gamepad auf die zentrale Position und drücken Sie

eine beliebige Taste auf dem Gamepad.

2) Wählen Sie den Bewegungsradios und drehen Sie das Richtungs-

kreuz 2 oder 3 Runden, drücken Sie dann wieder eine beliebige

Taste auf dem Gamepad.

3) Bestätigen Sie in der Mitte und drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste auf

dem Gamepad.

4) Klicken Sie “Beenden” und dann zurück auf die Einstellungsseite

des Gamepads.

5) Klicken Sie auf “Testseite”. Bitte drehen Sie das Bewegungskreuz

und drücken Sie jede Funktionstaste auf dem Gamepad, um die Ein-

stellungen zu testen, klicken Sie dann “OK”.

Hinweis: Sollte das Gerät nicht korrekt funktionieren, bedeutet

es, dass die oben beschriebene Kalibration missglückt ist.

Wiederholen Sie die beschriebenen Schritte, bis die Kalibration

korrekt abgeschlossen ist.

e. Zurück zur Einstellungsseite des Gamespads und klicken Sie auf “OK”

oder “Übernehmen”, um die Kalibration abzuschließen.

Nun können Sie die Spielesoftware starten und loslegen!

Wichtig:

• Wenn das Gamepad korrekt mit Ihrem Computer verbunden ist, im

Spiel aber nicht zu funktionieren scheint, wählen Sie über die System-

steuerung den Geräte-Manager und vergewissern Sie sich, dass “USB,

2-axis 8-button gamepad” als Joystick 1 geführt wird.

• Beachten Sie, dass das Gamepad als Joystick 1 geführt werden muss,

wenn keine weiteren Game Controller installiert sind. Sollte das Game-

pad nicht Joystick 1 sein, trennen Sie alle Gamepads und Controller von

dem Rechner. Hiernach reinstallieren Sie das Gamepad und komplettie-

ren die Kalibration, um eine fehlerfreie Nutzung zu gewährleisten.

Achtung

1. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihre Software die Nutzung von Gamepads/

Joysticks unterstützt.

2. Nicht jedes Spiel benötigt alle 8 Tasten. Sollten einige Tasten nicht

funktionieren, prüfen Sie bitte die Einstellungen des Spiels.

3. Die Funktionen der Gamepad-Tasten mögen sich von Spiel zu Spiel

unterscheiden. Bevor Sie die Einstellungen im Spiel verändern, schla-

gen Sie bitte vorher immer im Handbuch des Spiels nach, um die am

besten geeigneten Einstellungen zu erfahren.

4. Ihr Mini-Gamepad braucht kaum Wartung. Ab und zu können Sie

es mit einem angefeuchteten Tuch säubern. Nutzen Sie keine ag-

gressiven Mittel und sprühen Sie auch keine Flüssigreiniger direkt

auf das Gamepad. Flüssigkeit in Ihrem Joystick kann zu Beschädi-

gungen führen.

Dieses Symbol (durchgestrichene Mülltonne nach WEEE An-

hang IV) weist auf die getrennte Rücknahme elektrischer und

elektronischer Geräte in EU Ländern hin. Bitte werfen Sie das

Gerät nicht in den Hausmüll. Informieren Sie sich über das in

Installation

Remarque: Veuillez installer le logiciel avant la mise en service de

DICOTA Beat.

a) Installation du logiciel

1. Déposez le CD d’installation dans le lecteur de CD-Rom et patientez

quelques secondes, le temps que l’ordinateur charge le CD.

2. Si votre ordinateur est configuré de manière à lire automatiquement

les CD, la fenêtre d’installation s’ouvrira automatiquement. Suivez les

instructions apparaissant à l’écran pour installer le programme.

3. Si votre système ne démarre pas automatiquement le logiciel

d’installation, double-cliquez sur le fichier «Install.bat» se trouvant sur

le CD et suivez les instructions apparaissant à l’écran.

L’installation se déroule comme suit:

– Install Shield Wizard Information: Le système est prêt pour

l’installation. Cliquez sur «suivant».

– Acceptez les conditions relatives à la protection des droits d’auteur

en cliquant sur «accepter», puis sur «suivant».

– Information à l’adresse de l’utilisateur: entrez votre nom d’utilisateur

et le nom de votre entreprise si votre système d’exploitation est Win-

dow 2000/XP/Vista et sélectionnez une catégorie d’utilisation.

– Confirmez pour démarrer l’installation: Cliquez sur «installer».

– Terminez l’installation en cliquant sur «terminer».

4. Redémarrez votre ordinateur lorsque l’installation est terminée, comme

l’indique la fenêtre d’information.

b) Mise en service du gamepad

1. Branchez le gamepad sur un port USB disponible à l’aide du câble

USB.

2. Une fois le gamepad branché, votre écran indiquera «nouveau maté-

riel détecté» et le driver USB sera localisé pour achever l’installation et

permettre une utilisation immédiate du gamepad.

3. Le système va automatiquement générer un point menu correspondant

au gamepad, qui vous permettra de tester la fonction des touches et

du vibreur.

Paramétrage sur Windows

Une fois le gamepad installé, le système d’exploitation Windows®recon-

naîtra automatiquement le périphérique USB et vous pourrez configurer

le gamepad.

a. Sélectionnez démarrez \ réglages \ gestion des systèmes \

système \ Gestion des périphériques \ contrôle audio, vidéo,

et contrôle du jeu.

b. Sélectionnez le gamepad «USB, 2-axis 8-button gamepad» dans le

menu.

c. Cliquez sur «réglages», puis sur «calibrage».

d. Lorsque la fenêtre «calibrage contrôle» apparaît, vous pouvez régler

la fonction des touches. Si cela ne fonctionne pas, vous avez la pos-

sibilité de configurer le gamepad par le biais du menu, de la manière

1) Mettez le gamepad sur position centrale et appuyez sur une touche

du gamepad au hasard.

2) Sélectionnez le mode mouvement et faites tourner 2 à 3 fois la croix

directionnelle, puis appuyez à nouveau sur une touche au hasard.

3) Confirmez au milieu et appuyez sur une touche de votre gamepad

au hasard.

4) Cliquez sur «terminer» et revenez sur la page des réglages du

gamepad.

5) Cliquez sur «page de test». Actionnez la croix directionnelle et

appuyez sur chaque touche de fonction du gamepad pour tester le

réglage, puis appuyez sur «OK».

Remarque: Si l’appareil ne fonctionne pas correctement, cela

signifie que l’opération de calibrage décrite ci-dessus n’a pas

fonctionné. Renouvelez toutes les étapes jusqu’au succès de

l’opération.

e. Revenez à la page des réglages du gamepad et cliquez sur «OK»

ou sur «accepter» pour achever le calibrage.

A présent, vous pouvez démarrez le logiciel de jeu et jouer!

Important:

• Si le gamepad est correctement relié à votre ordinateur, mais ne semble

pas fonctionner pendant le jeu, sélectionnez la gestion des périphé-

riques par le biais de la gestion des systèmes et assurez-vous que

«USB, 2-axis 8-button gamepad» apparaît bien sous Joystick 1.

• Le gamepad doit apparaître sous Joystick 1 si aucun autre contrôleur

de jeu n’est installé sur votre ordinateur. Si le gamepad ne correspond

pas au Joystick 1, retirez tous les gamepads et contrôleurs de votre

ordinateur. Puis réinstallez le gamepad en complétant le calibrage afin

d’en assurer le bon fonctionnement.

Attention

1. Assurez-vous de la compatibilité de votre logiciel avec l’utilisation de

gamepads et de joysticks.

2. Tous les jeux ne nécessitent pas l’utilisation des 8 touches. Si certaines

touches ne fonctionnent pas, vérifiez les réglages du jeu.

3. Les fonctions des touches du gamepad peuvent être différentes d’un

jeu à l’autre. Avant d’en modifier le réglage dans le jeu, prenez toujours

la peine de vérifier dans le manuel d’utilisation, afin de prendre con-

naissance des réglages les plus appropriés.

4. Votre mini gamepad n’a presque pas besoin d’entretien. Vous

pouvez le nettoyer de temps en temps à l’aide d’un chiffon humide.

N’utilisez pas de produits agressifs et ne vaporisez pas de produits

de nettoyage directement sur le gamepad. Le liquide pourrait

pénétrer à l’intérieur de votre gamepad et l’endommager.

Le symbole [poubelle sur roue barrée d’une croix WEEE annexe

IV] indique une collecte séparée des déchets d’équipements

électriques et électroniques dans les pays de l’UE. Veuillez ne

pas jeter l’équipement dans les ordures domestiques. A utiliser

pour la mise en rebut de ces types d’équipements conformé-

Instalación

¡Observación! Instale el Software antes de poner en marcha

el DICOTA Beat.

a) Instalación del Software

1. Coloque el CD de instalación en el disquetero CD y espere unos

segundos hasta que el ordenador haya cargado el CD.

2. Si su sistema está condicionado para leer CDs automáticamente, el

Autostart llamará entonces automáticamente la pantalla de instalación.

Siga las instrucciones en la pantalla para instalar el programa.

3. Si su sistema no arranca automáticamente el Software de instalación,

haga entonces un clic doble en el archivo “Install.bat” que se halla en

el CD y siga después las instrucciones en la pantalla.

La instalación se desarrolla en la forma siguiente:

• Install Shield Wizard Information: El sistema está listo para la instala-

ción, haga un clic en “Siga”.

• Apruebe la observación del Copyright con “Aceptar” y haga un clic

en “Siga”.

• Observación para el usuario: Entre un nombre de usuario y una em-

presa, esto es, si tiene Ud. un sistema operativo Windows 2000/XP/

Vista, y elija la correspondiente limitación de uso.

• Confirme para arrancar la instalación: Haga un clic en “Instalar”.

• Cierre la instalación: Haga un clic en “Terminar”.

4. Después de la instalación arranque su ordenador de nuevo como se

indica en la pantalla de la instalación.

b) Instalación del Hardware

1. Enchufe el Gamepad con el cable USB a un enchufe USB disponible.

Después del enchufe aparece en la pantalla el aviso de “Hallado nuevo

Hardware” y es localizado el driver USB estándar para concluir la in-

stalación sencilla y hacer posible un uso inmediato del Gamepad.

3. El sistema confecciona automáticamente y aparece un registro de

menú para el Gamepad, a través del cual puede Ud. probar las fun-

ciones de las teclas y la función de vibración.

Ajustes en un sistema Windows

Después de la instalación del Hardware identifica el sistema operativo

Windows®automáticamente el aparato USB y Ud. puede configurar el

Gamepad.

a. Seleccione Ud. Start \ Ajustes \ Mando de sistema \ Sistema \

Manager de aparatos \ Controlador Audio, Video y Game

b. Seleccione Ud. el Gamepad “USB, 2-axis 8-button gamepad” en

este menú.

c. Haga un clic en “Ajustes” y después en “Calibrar”.

d. Al aparecer la ventana “Controller Kalibration” puede ajustar Ud. las

funciones de las teclas. Si ésto no funcionara correctamente, puede

configurar entonces el Gamepad por medio del menú de ajustes en la

forma siguiente:

1) Coloque el Gamepad en posición central y pulse una tecla cualquie-

ra del Gamepad.

2) Seleccione el radio de movimiento y gire la cruz direccional 2 o 3

vueltas, pulse después otra tecla cualquiera del Gamepad.

3) Confirme en el centro y pulse una tecla cualquiera del Gamepad.

4) Haga un clic en “Terminar” y vuelva atrás a la página de ajustes del

Gamepad.

5) Haga un clic en “Página de prueba”. Gire la cruz direccional y pulse

cada una de las teclas de función en el Gamepad para probar los

ajustes, haga un clic después en “OK”.

¡Observación! Si el aparato no funcionara correctamente, esto

significa que ha fallado el calibrado descrito más arriba. Repita

los pasos descritos hasta que el calibrado quede correcto.

e. Regreso a la página de ajustes del Gamepad y haga un clic en “OK”

o “Aceptar” para cerrar el calibrado.

¡Ahora puede arrancar el Software de juego y jugar!

¡Importante!:

• Si el Gamepad está correctamente enchufado al ordenador pero parece

no funcionar en el juego, seleccione entonces el Manager de aparatos a

través del Control del sistema y cerciórese de que “USB, 2-axis 8-but-

ton gamepad” ha sido ejecutado como Joystick 1.

• Tenga en cuenta que el Gamepad tiene que estar ejecutado como Joy-

stick 1 si no se encuentra instalado ningún otro controlador más de jue-

go. Si el Gamepad no fuera el 1, corte entonces todos los Gamepads y

controladores del ordenador. Reinstale después el Gamepad y complete

el calibrado para garantizar un uso perfecto.

¡Atención!

1. Cerciórese de que su Software soporta el uso de Gamepads/Joysticks.

2. No todos los juegos necesitan 8 teclas. Si no funcionara alguna de las

teclas, controle entonces los ajustes del juego.

3. Las funciones de las teclas del Gamepad pueden ser diferentes de

un juego a otro. Antes de modificar los ajustes en el juego, consulte

siempre el Manual del usuario del juego para apreciar los ajustes más

idóneos.

4. Su Mini-Gamepad apenas necesita mantenimiento. Puede limpiar-

se de vez en cuando con un paño húmedo. No utilice ningún pro-

ducto agresivo ni rocíe ningún detergente líquido sobre el Game-

pad. El líquido sobre su Gamepad puede inducir a deterioros.
