13.Donotattempttoservicetheproductbeyondthatdescribedintheuser-maintenanceinstructions.
Allotherservicingshouldbereferredtoqualifiedservicepersonnel.
-Donotplaceobjectsontheproduct'spowercordorplaceitinapositionwhere
anyonecouldtripover,walkonorrollanythingoverit.Donotallowtheproducttorestonortobeinstalled
overpowercordsofanytype.Improperinstallationsofthistypecreatethepossibilityoffirehazardand/
orpersonalinjury.

Mainspowerconnection.
Beforeconnectingthepowercabletothemains,alwaysmakecertainthatitisnotdamaged
andthattherearenobarewires,alwaysconnectthepowercabletotheamplifierbefore
switchingitonandonlyremovethecableafterswitchingitoff.
Switchingonandoff.
Inanaudiosystem,it'salwaysbettertoswitchpoweramplifiersonlastandofffirst.
Remembertoswitchofftheamplifierbeforeconnectingittoordisconnectingitfromotherunits
andtoswitchalwaysonfirstthemixerandthentheamplifie:inthismanner,peakswhichare
annoyingandsometimesdangerousparticularlyfortheloudspeakersenclosuresareavoided.
ItisnormalfortheLEDstolightupforafewmomentswhenswitchingon.
Handling.
Donotforceknobsandconnectors,astheycouldbedamagediftreatedwithexcessive
force.
Connectionsandpreventionofpossibleinterference.
Avoidinstallingyourequipmentnearradios,televisions,etc.,sincetheycouldcausenoisy
disturbance.Whenconnectingtheotherunitsinyoursoundsystem,watchoutfortoso-called
earth-loops,whichcancausehum:intheeventofinterference,tryusingtheEARTHswitchon
theamplifier'srearpanel.
Connectorcables.
Toconnecttheamplifiertothemixer,alwaysmakecertaintouseonlysignalcables
(screenedcablesmadeupoftwowiresplusabraidscreen),notpowercables(speaker
cables,normallymadeupoftwowires,usuallywithagreatercross-section):toconnectthe
amplifiertotheloudspeakerenclosures,alwaysusepowercables,notsignalcables,asinthe
lattercaseinfact,thepowerfromtheamplifierswouldbepartiallydispersebecauseofthe
cable'ssmallercross-section.
Takecareoftheconnectorcables.Alwaysholdthembytheconnectors,avoidingpullingthe
wireandavoidknotsandtwistswhencoilingthem:thisgivestheadvantageofincreasingtheir
lifeandreliability.
Aircirculationforcooling.
Amplifier'scorrectcoolingisensuredbyaninternalfan,thespeedofwhichiscontrolledbya
specialsensor(thespeedisproportionaltooutputpowerandthereforethetemperature
generated):remembernevertoblocktheairventslocatedontheunit'ssidesinanyway:theair
necessaryforcoolingpassesthroughthese.
Iftheamplifieriskeptinaflight-caseduringuse,makecertainthatithassufficientopeningsat
boththeamplifier'sairvents.Avoidlocatingitverysmallspaceswhichdon'tallowcorrectair
circulation.
Beforeconnectingtheamplifiertothemainspowersocket,makecertainthatthevoltagecorresponds
withthatindicatedontherearoftheunit(anallowanceof10%isacceptable).

Controlstheseparationoftheelectricalearthfromthatofthechassis.Usingthisselector,
itisoftenpossibletobreakearthloopswhichcanformwhenseveralunitsareconnected
togetherandwhichcancausehumofothernoises.

Selectorfortheamplifiers2operatingsetting:allowstodecidehowtousetheamplifierin
theaudiosetupconsiderablywithotherunits(crossovers,otheramplifiers,loudspeaker
enclosures).
Thiscontrolshouldonlybeusedwhentheamplifierisoff,otherwisethe
loudspeaker'scomponentscouldbedamaged.

WiththeSTEREOsetting,2separatesignalsaretreatedseparatelybychannelsAandBoftheamplifier.In
otherwords,asignalconnectedtoinputAisonlytreatedbychannelAoftheamplifierandonlyfedto
outputAandasignalconnectedtoinputBisonlytreatedbychannelBoftheamplifierandonlyfedto
outputB.

WiththeBRIDGEsettingsignalisamplifiedbythetwosections(A&B)oftheamplifier
summedtogether.InotherwordsthesignalconnectedtoinputAis:
1)amplifiedbyboththeamplificationsectionssummedtogether;
2)fedtoasingleoutput(BRIDGE).
Thecharacteristicofthissettingconsistsinthefactthatthereisasignalfedoutwith
doublethepowerandratedimpedance(seeTECHNICALSPECIFICATIONS).
11.INPUTS
Balanceinputs(0dB/30k):inallmodelsbothchannelA&Boftheamplifierhavea
doublebalancedinputwithanCANNONconnectorandaJACKconnectorconnectedin
parallel.Inthismanner,theamplifiersinputsignalcanbeconnectedtoeitherofthese
connectors(greatlyfacilitatingconnections)andifnecessary,canbepassedontothe
inputofanotheramplifierorotherunits(seeillustrations).

CONNECTORCABLE
Thefollowingdiagramsillustratethewiringofthevarioustypesofsocketsthatcanbe
usedwiththeDSPpoweramplifiers.
Toconnecttheamplifiertothemixer,alwaysmakecertaintouseonlysignalcables
(screenedcablesmadeupoftwowiresplusabraidscreen),notpowercables(speaker
cables,normallymadeupoftwowires,usuallywithagreatercross-section):theuseof
unscreenedcablescouldinfactcauseannoyingbuzzesandbackgroundnoise.We
thereforealwayssuggesttheuseofbalancedcablesformicrophonesandlineunits
wheneverpossible.
Toconnecttheamplifiertotheloudspeakerenclosures,alwaysuseonlypowercables,
notsignalcables,asinthelattercaseinfact,thepowerfromtheamplifierswouldbe
partiallydispersedbecauseofthecable'ssmallercross-section.
Takecareoftheconnectorcables.Alwaysholdthembytheconnectors,avoiding
pullingthewireandavoidknotsandtwistswhencoilingthem:thisgivestheadvantageof
increasingtheirlifeandreliability.Checkyourcablesperiodically,makingcertainthatthey
areingoodcondition,thattheconnectorsarecorrectlywiredandcontactsperfectly
efficient:infact,manyproblemsandsetbacks(faultycontacts,groundhum,disturbance,
etc.)areduetotheuseofunsuitableoffaultycables.
