fectinthelowareas,andexcessiverunningofthe

poundsofairpressureforspraying.Maskexposed
areasattopofrearfendersandrearendpanels,if
sprayingwithlargegun.
Forguncleaningafterusingsplatterpaint,first

lent.Replacetoolsandequipmentintrunkwhen
everythinghasdriedthoroughly.
Cleanaroundthedecklidopeningusinga cloth
saturatedwithoversprayremoverandforfinal detail,
redresstherubberdecklidsealusingBlackMulti-
PurposeDyeandDressing,orequivalent.

Donotcleantireswithscouringpowder,steelwool
orotherabrasivetypecleaners.Cleanwhitesidewall
tirewitha stiffbristlebrushandwhitesidewall
cleaner,ormulti-purposecleaner2298-532orequiva-
lentandrinsewithclearwater.Scuffmarkscanbe
dresseddownbysandinglightlywith#400sandpaper.
Glass
Donotuseputtyknifes,razorblades,steelwool,or
othermetalobjectstoremovedepositsfromglass.
Interiorglasssurfacesshouldbethoroughly
cleanedweeklytoremovealltracesofsmokeand
otherfilms.
Exteriorglasssurfacesarebestcleanedwiththe
useofa commerciallymadecleaner.Donotscrape
offsmearsfrombugs,roadtarsorothersimilar
objects,usewarmwaterortherecommendedsol-
ventstoremove.
Duringthewintermonths,snow,iceandfrostcan
beremovedwitha plasticorrubbertypescraper,or
witha commerciallymadesolvent.Donotusemetal
objectstoremovedepositsfromglass.
Drain Holes
Thedrainholes,inthebottomofcowlplenum
chamber,doorsandfloor sills(rockerpanels)
shouldbeinspectedregularlytoinsureunobstructed
drainage.Removeroadtars,mudandotherforeign
matterimmediately.Shouldbaremetalbeexposed,
surfacetreatmetalandrefinish.
Thedrainholesinthequarterpanelwell areasare
sealedwitha removableplasticplug.Theplugs
shouldonlyberemovedwheneveritisnecessaryto
cleanordrainfluids fromthewell area.
Lubrication
Tomaintaineaseofoperation,thehood,door,deck
lidandtailgatehingesshouldbelubricatedwiththe
recommendedlubricantsattherecommendedinter-
vals.
RefertotheBodyLubricationUnitfortypeof
lubricantandlubricationpoints.
USEFULGENERALHINTS
(1)Upholsteryingoodcondition,notfaded,but
stained.IfstainpersistsafterusingSpotRemover,
blowthestainswithmaximumairpressure.
(2)Chewinggumonfabric.Placecubeoficeon
chewinggumandfreeze.Chipoffwitha blunttool.
(3)Icemaybeusedtoremovebloodstainsifnoth-
ingelsehasbeenapplied,orcarefullybrushspotwith
afine wirebrush.
(4)Donotsoakaroundseatbuttonsanymorethan
isnecessary.Alwaysfastdrycushionswithbuttonsto
avoidpossibilityofrust.
(5)WhenwashingheadlinerwithUpholsteryClean-
ersolution,coverseatswithcloth,plasticcloth,etc.,
topreventspottingbydroppingsolutionsfromhead-
linerwhilecleaning.Oncethecleaningprocessis
started,FINISHWITHOUTINTERRUPTION.Ifhead-
linerispartiallydoneandcompletedlater,a stainmay
appearwherefirst sectionhasdried.
