Replacement Instructions
ThisdocumentexplainshowtoreplacetheDP600DVDdrive.Beforeyoubegin,besure
youhavethefollowing:
• Phillipsscrewdriver
•5/64‐inchhexwrench
• Needle‐nosepliers
•DVDreplacementkit(DP600DVD‐SPK) with DVDdrive
(DolbyPartNumber8705290)
Pleasereadthisentiredocumentbeforeyoubegintheprocedure.Thisprocedurewilltake
approximately30minutes.
Replacing the DVD Drive
ToreplacetheDVDdrive:
1. Powerdowntheunitasfollows:
a. Fromthetouchscreen,pressSystem>Power>Shutdown(youmayneedtoenteran
administratorpassword),thenpressok attheprompt.Theunitwillbeginthe
shutdownprocess.
b. WaituntilDolbyDP600 Program Optimizerappearsonthescreen,asshownin
Figure 1,thendisconnectthepowercordsfromthebackoftheunit.

3. Removethetopfourscrewsonthefrontofthelid,asshowninFigure 2,thenremove
thetopfourscrewsontherearofthelid,asshowninFigure 3.

4. Removethefar‐leftandfar‐rightscrewsoneachsideofthelid(twoeachontheright
andleftsides).Thenloosen(butdon’tremove)theremaining(middlethree)screws

7. Usingyourfingersoracushionedscrewdriver,gentlypryofftherightpanelfromits
leftside,asshowninFigure 8(theothersideisaslottedlock).
Becarefulnottodropthepanel,asitisdeceptivelyheavyandwillcomeoffsuddenly
oncethelockingmechanismdisengages.

BesuretoinserttheDVDdriveinitsoriginalmountingpositionbeforetighteningthe
mountingscrews.Makesurethemountingscrewstightendownintheiroriginal
locations,as indicatedby marksleft onthe mountingbracket.
