CAUTION
• The above system requirements are given as minimum
requirements for a system on which basic writing
performance to supported CDs/DVDs can be obtained.
In actual use, the requirements for the writing software
and other supplied software also have to be taken into
consideration. (Normally, these requirements are be
higher than the above specifications.) Refer to your
software user’s guides for details.
• The drive cannot be assured to operate properly if
connected to an ATAPI interface adapter card (we
cannot guarantee compatibility or offer user support).
• Writing speed may automatically be adjusted
depending on the disc, specified speed, or disc
conditions such as weight imbalance and eccentricity.
• Writing on CD-R/-RW discs at 1×and 2×speed is not
supported. Also, this drive does not support
CD-R/-RW that only support 1×and 2×speeds.
• Appropriate discs are needed when writing at 4×
speed to DVD+R/-R, 10×speed to CD-RW, and 2×
speed to DVD-RW.

DVD-Video Playback and Region Codes
The playback of DVD-Video (DVD discs) is
protected and controlled by a region code
setting*.
*Region Playback Control standard (RPC
standard)
In order for the DVD/CD RW drive to play
back DVD-Video disc, the region code on
the DVD disc, the region code of the DVD/
CD RW drive, and the region code of the
DVD-Video software must all match.
DVD-Video Playback and Region Codes with the DRU-500AX
With the DRU-500AX, the region code can
be set up to five times, including the initial
assignment (RPC phase 2 standard). The
DVD-Video playback software sets the
DRU-500AX region code.
Important
After setting the region code five times (including the
initial setting), the setting becomes permanent and can
no longer be changed. From this point on, you are only
able to play back DVD-Video discs whose region code
matches the one set the fifth time.
CAUTION
Do not attempt to make unauthorized changes to the
region code. Any problems resulting from doing so are
not covered by the warranty.
Points to Consider when Playing
DVD-Video Discs
DVD-Video disc playback conditions are
sometimes determined by software
manufacturers. Because the DRU-500AX
plays back discs as determined by software
manufacturers, some drive functions may not
always perform as expected. When playing
back DVD-Video discs, refer to the
instructions accompanying each disc.

DRU-500AXでは、リージョンコードの設定を、
初回の設定を含め合計5回まで行うことができます

DVD/CD RWドライブを使用してDVDビデオを
再生するためには、DVDディスクに表示された
リージョンコード、DVD/CD RWドライブのリー
ジョンコード、DVDビデオ再生ソフトウエアの
リージョンコードのすべてが一致している必要が
あります。

不正にリージョンコードの書き換えを行わないでくださ
い。この結果生じた不具合等については、保証対象外と
させていただきます。
DVDビデオ再生時の操作上のご注意
DVDビデオはソフト制作者の意図により再生状態
が決められていることがあります。DRU-500AX
ではソフト制作者が意図したディスク内容にした
がって再生を行うため、操作したとおりに機能が
はたらかない場合があります。DVDビデオを再生
するときは、ディスクに付属している取扱説明書
も必ずご覧ください。

DC電源プラグを正しく接続する
パソコンのDC電源プラグを正しく接続しないと、火災や感電の原因となります。
•パソコンから供給されているDC電源プラグ以外は接続しない
•しっかり根元まで指し込む
•DC電源プラグの向きを反対に接続しない
•DC電源プラグについたほこりなどは定期的に取り除く

ださい。
•所定事項の記入および記載内容をお確かめのう
え、大切に保存してください。
•保証期間は、お買い上げ日より1年間です。
ご注意
保証およびユーザーサポートは、添付の保証書に記載さ
れた国または販売地域においてのみ有効です。
アフターサービス
保証期間中の修理は
取扱説明書と保証書の記載内容に基づいて修理さ
せていただきます。詳しくは保証書をご覧くださ

部品の保有期間について
当社ではDVD/CD RWドライブの補修用性能部品
（製品の機能を維持するために必要な部品）を、製
造打ち切り後最低6年間保有しています。この部品
保有期間を修理可能の期間とさせていただきま
す。保有期間が経過したあとも、故障箇所によっ
ては修理可能の場合がありますので、お買い上げ
店か、修理窓口にご相談ください。
修理のご依頼について
本製品の修理をご依頼の際は、製品本体、およ
び、IDEフラットケーブルなどの付属品一式を、
お買い上げ店やサービス窓口にご提供ください。
•本製品は持ち込み修理対象製品です。故障その
他の理由でお買い上げ店やサービス・相談窓口
に製品をご提供いただく場合、受け付けまたは
ご返却に関わる配送費用、製品の取り付けや取
り外し、接続調整などの諸費用はすべてお客様
のご負担となります。

will repair the drive for a charge.
Repair Requirements
If you return the drive to your place of
purchase or repair service provider because
of damage resulting from misuse or other
causes, you will be responsible for all repair-
related expenses, including shipping and
handling and product adjustments.
