1 Introducción
El objetivo de este manual de funcionamiento es
familiarizarle como usuario/operador con la seguri-
dad, la construcción, el funcionamiento así como el
mantenimiento y la conservación de la secadora por
adsorción con regeneración en frío Ultrapac 2000
midi superplus.
Una condición básica para la manipulación segura y
el funcionamiento sin averías de este equipo es el
conocimiento de las instrucciones de seguridad tanto
básicas como específicas.
Este manual de funcionamiento incluye dichas
instrucciones de seguridad para una manipulación
segura.
Toda persona que trabaje en este equipo tiene que
observar las instrucciones de este manual de funcion-
amiento y en especial las instrucciones de seguridad.
Es imprescindible que el personal que manipule este
equipo, tenga acceso a este manual de funciona-
miento en cualquier momento y que éste se guarde en
el lugar de instalación del equipo.
Si así lo solicita, recibirá más copias de este manual
de instrucciones dirigiéndose a esta dirección.
En cualquier contacto, sea telefónico o por escrito,
rogamos nos indique los siguientes datos:

1 Introduction
As the user / operator, you should make yourself
familiar with this Operation Manual in terms of the
safety, construction, function, maintenance and
servicing of the Heatless-Regenerating Adsorption
Dryer Ultrapac 2000 midi superplus.
A basic prerequisite for safe working with and error-
free operation of the unit is a knowledge of the basic
and special safety features.
This Operation Manual includes the required safety
information in order to operate this unit safely.
This Operation Manual, and especially the safety
information, are to be followed by all persons
working with the unit.
It is imperative that this Operation Manual is made
freely available at all times to machine operators and
are to be kept at the place where the unit is installed.
If required, you can obtain further copies of this
Operation Manual from our address:

4.1 Disposiciones de seguridad
Donaldson Ultrafilter excluye expresamente
cualquier responsabilidad u obligación por daños y/o
lesiones debidos a la no observación de estas
medidas específicas u otras medidas preventivas
conocidas o causadas por la no observación de la
diligencia necesaria en el funcionamiento y la
manipulación de secadoras, aunque éstas no estén
indicadas de forma explícita.
4.1.1 Lo que tiene que hacer siempre
¡Hacer un uso debido del equipo, de acuerdo con
su destino!
Este equipo solamente se puede emplear de acuerdo con
su destino. El equipo secadora por adsorción con
regeneración en frío Ultrapac 2000 midi superplus
está construido con el exclusivo destino de:
secado de aire comprimido o nitrógeno.
Otro uso diferente o que sobrepase los límites de este
destino se considerará un uso indebido.
Dentro de los límites legalmente establecidos,
Donaldson Ultrafilter no se hará responsable de
daños causados por el uso indebido.
¡Guardar el manual de funcionamiento en el
lugar de instalación del equipo!
Asegúrese de que el manual de funcionamiento se
encuentre siempre en el lugar de instalación del
equipo.
¡Emplear las herramientas apropiadas!
Tanto en el mantenimiento como en la reparación del
equipo se deben emplear solamente herramientas en
perfectas condiciones.
El posible uso de herramientas especiales para la
realización de algunos trabajos se tiene que acordar
previamente con el fabricante.
¡Seguir las instrucciones de seguridad al realizar
trabajos de mantenimiento y conservación!
Para la realización de algunos trabajos de
mantenimiento y conservación, el equipo tiene que
estar fuera de servicio y libre de tensión y presión. Si
realiza estos trabajos con el equipo en
funcionamiento, se pone en peligro a sí mismo y a
terceros.
4 Your Safety
4.1 Safety regulations
Donaldson Ultrafilter explicitly excludes all respon-
sibility or liability for damage and / or injury caused
by failure to follow these special points requiring
attention, or others, or by failing to pay the necessary
attention when operating and handling these dryers,
even if this is not explicitly stated in individual cases.
4.1.1 What you must always do
Operate the unit properly and appropriately!
The unit may only be used for its intended purpose.
The Heatless-Regenerating Adsorption Dryer Ultra-
pac 2000 midi superplus is built exclusively for the
following purpose:
drying compressed air or nitrogen.
Any other use of the unit, or one deviating from this
one stated, shall be considered inappropriate.
Donaldson Ultrafilter shall not be liable, where this is
permitted under law, for any damage incurred as a
result of misuse.
Leave the Operation Manual at the place of
installation!
Ensure that the Operation Manual are always to hand
at the unit.
Use the appropriate tools!
When carrying out maintenance or servicing work on
the unit, only use the appropriate tools in perfect con-
dition.
If special tools are required for particular jobs, these
must be clarified beforehand with the manufacturer.
Follow the safety information when carrying out
maintenance or servicing work!
The unit must be taken out of operation and made
current- and pressureless for certain maintenance or
servicing work. You will expose yourself and others
to risk if you carry such work while the unit is
running.

4.1.2 Lo que no debe hacer nunca
¡No realizar modificaciones constructivas en el
equipo!
Solamente el fabricante puede realizar
modificaciones constructivas en el equipo. Cualquier
modificación constructiva que Ud. pretenda realizar
en el equipo requiere la previa autorización escrita
del fabricante.
¡No emplear piezas que no sean originales!
Emplear solamente los repuestos y accesorios originales
del fabricante.
En las piezas no originales no está garantizado que el
diseño y la fabricación se correspondan con el destino y
que cumplan las exigencias en cuanto a seguridad.
4.1.3 Peligros durante el funcionamiento
del equipo
El equipo secadora por adsorción con regeneración
en frío Ultrapac 2000 midi superplus está diseñado y
fabricado según las reglas generalmente aceptadas de
la técnica y de la seguridad en el trabajo. No
obstante, en el funcionamiento pueden originarse
situaciones que supongan un peligro para la
integridad y la vida del operador o de terceros o que
causen daños al equipo u otros objetos.
El equipo solamente se debe emplear:
para su uso de acuerdo con su destino.
cuando se encuentra en un estado perfecto en
cuanto a seguridad,
cuando se cumplen todas las medidas de
mantenimiento y conservación (véase capítulo 9
„Mantenimiento y entretenimiento“ en la página 41).
Cualquier avería o defecto que pueda afectar a la
seguridad se tiene que eliminar inmediatamente.
El diseño/desarrollo, la fabricación, el montaje y el
servicio posventa están sujetos a un sistema de
aseguramiento de la calidad certificado según DIN
EN ISO 9001.

4.1.2 What you must not do
Do not make any constructional changes to the
unit!
Constructional changes on the unit may only be
carried out by the manufacturer. Any changes that
you wish to make to the unit on site must be approved
beforehand in writing by the manufacturer.
Never use non original parts!
Only use original spare parts and accessory parts from
the manufacturer.
There is no guarantee that non-original parts have
been designed and manufactured to meeting the
safety and operational requirements of the unit.
4.1.3 Dangers when operating the unit
The Adsorption Dryer was designed and constructed
according to the generally recognised regulations
concerning technical matters and safety at work.
Nonetheless, operation entails dangers to life and
limb for the operator or third parties, and can cause
damage to the unit or material damage.
The unit is only to be used:
for the stipulated purpose,
if it is in perfect condition in terms of safety,
when adhering to all the prescribed maintenance
and servicing measures, see section 9 „Mainte-
nance and Servicing“ on page 41.
Faults or defects that could affect safety must be put
right fully.
Design / Development, production, installation and
after-sales service for the unit are subject to a certified
quality assurance system as per DIN EN ISO 9001.

4.1.4 Peligros por energía eléctrica
Los trabajos en la alimentación eléctrica se tienen
que realizar por un técnico adecuadamente
formado según las disposiciones DIN VDE y las
disposiciones de la correspondiente central
eléctrica.
El equipamiento eléctrico del equipo se tiene que
comprobarperiódicamente (véase capítulo 9 „Man-
tenimiento y entretenimiento“ en la página 41).
¡Emplear solamente fusibles originales para la
tensión y potencia exigidas!
4.1.5 Peligros durante trabajos de man-
tenimiento, conservación y
eliminación de averías
Toda persona que en fábrica del usuario realice
trabajos de montaje, puesta en servicio,
manipulación, conservación, reparación o
similares, tiene que haber leído y comprendido el
manual de funcionamiento y, en especial, las
instrucciones de seguridad. Para aclarar cualquier
duda, rogamos se dirijan a Donaldson Ultrafilter.
El fabricante no es responsable de daños
causados por el montaje o la puesta en servicio
inadecuados. En este caso, el usuario asume todo
el riesgo.
Las competencias para los trabajos de
mantenimiento y conservación se tienen que fijar
claramente. Informar al personal que opera el
equipo antes de iniciar los trabajos de
mantenimiento y conservación.
Encargar los trabajos obligatorios de ajuste,
mantenimiento e inspección dentro de los plazos
establecidos al servicio posventa de Donaldson
Ultrafilter.
Todos los trabajos de mantenimiento y conservación
en el equipo se tienen que realizar de acuerdo con
las instrucciones (véase capítulo 9 „Mantenimiento
y entretenimiento“ en la página 41).
Poner el equipo correctamente fuera de servicio
(véase también el capítulo 7.2 „Puesta fuera de
servicio“ en la página 35).
Descargar el equipo de presión y tensión.
Colocar una señal de aviso para evitar que se
vuelva a conectar.

4.1.4 Dangers from electrical energy
Work on the electrical power supply must be
carried by a trained electrician according to the
DIN VDE stipulations and the regulations of the
relevant power supply company.
The electrical parts of the equipment must be
checked regularly (see section 9 „Maintenance
and Servicing“ on page 41).
Only use original fuses for the rated voltage and
current!
4.1.5 Dangers during maintenance, ser-
vicing and repair work
All persons involved within the user’s company
with installation, startup, operation, servicing,
repair work, etc., must have read and understood
the Operation Manual beforehand, with special
reference to the safety information. Please con-
tact Donaldson Ultrafilter if there are any questi-
ons.
The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused
by inappropriate installation and startup of the
unit. The user bears all the risk in such a case.
The responsibility for maintenance and servicing
work must be clearly established.
Operating personnel must be informed before the
start of maintenance and servicing work.
Have the prescribed setting up, maintenance and
inspection work carried out by Donaldson Ultra-
filter after-sales service at the correct intervals.
All the maintenance and servicing work must be
carried out on the unit as per the instructions in
section 9 „Maintenance and Servicing“ on
page 41.
Shut down the unit in the correct manner (see
section 7.2 „Shutdown“ on page 35).
Depressurise the unit and make it currentless.
Put up a warning notice to prevent the unit from
being switched on again.

Al cambiar componentes más grandes, sujetar
éstos bien en aparatos elevadores y asegurarlos.
Emplear solamente aparatos elevadores y
dispositivos de sujeción de la carga en perfectas
condiciones técnicas y con la suficiente
capacidad de carga.
Al realizar trabajos de instalación por encima de
la altura de la cabeza, emplear escaleras y
plataformas seguras. Nunca usar partes de la
máquina como ayuda para subir; ¡peligro de
caída! Si se realizan trabajos de mantenimiento a
alturas superiores a 5.9 ft, usar cinturones que
eviten la caída.
4.1.6 Medidas de seguridad en el funcio-
namiento permanente
Una condición básica para la manipulación segura y
el funcionamiento sin averías del equipo es el
conocimiento y cumplimiento de las disposiciones
nacionales de trabajo, funcionamiento y seguridad.
Además, se tienen que cumplir las disposiciones
internas de fábrica.
Comprobar periódicamente si el equipo presenta
daños visibles.
Solamente personal adecuadamente formado
puede accionar el mando o el equipo.
Los parámetros prefijados por el fabricante son
valores estándar.
En caso de averías en el funcionamiento, se
tienen que observar todas las instrucciones dadas
(véase capítulo 8 „Mensajes y eliminación de
fallos“ en la página 36).
Si las medidas allí especificadas no eliminaran la
avería, rogamos se pongan en contacto con
Donaldson Ultrafilter.
When replacing larger modules, carefully fasten
them to lifting gar and make sure they are secure.
Only use suitable lifting gear and load-bearing
members that are in perfect condition and have
adequate load-bearing capacity!
If carrying out installation work above head
height, use suitable and safe working platforms or
other means to stand higher. Use safety lines to
protect against falling when carrying out main-
tenance work at heights above 5.9 ft!
4.1.6 Safety measures in sustained opera-
tion
A basic prerequisite for safe working with and error-
free operation of the unit is a knowledge of and ad-
herence to the national working, operating and safety
regulations. Furthermore, all internal plant regula-
tions must be followed.
Check the unit for externally-visible damage at
regular intervals.
Only allow suitably trained persons to operate the
controller or the unit.
The parameters preset by the manufacturer are
the default parameters.
Follow all the information given here in the event
of malfunctions or problems (see section 8 „Fault
Messages and Troubleshooting“ on page 36).
If the measures listed there do not help to correct
the problem, please contact Donaldson Ultrafil-
ter.

4.2 Obligaciones del
operador
El operador se obliga a encargar la puesta en servicio
del equipo solamente a personas familiarizadas con
las disposiciones de seguridad y con la manipulación
del equipo.
Estas son en concreto:

4.2.1 Obligaciones del personal
Toda persona encargada de la manipulación del
equipo se obliga a
cumplir las disposiciones básicas sobre seguridad
en el trabajo y prevención de accidentes,
haber leído y comprendido el manual de
funcionamiento,
seguir las medidas indicadas en el manual de
funcionamiento.
4.2.2 Protección medioambiental
Eliminar los productos y materiales empleados de
forma adecuada.
La eliminación selectiva de materiales fomenta el
reciclaje de material reutilizable.
Es imprescindible que el secante se elimine cor-
rectamente. Su eliminación se realiza por el ser-
vicio posventa de Donaldson Ultrafilter.
4.2 Requirements for the
operator
The operator is required to make sure that the unit is
only operated by persons who are familiar with the
safety stipulations and with the handling of the unit.
In detail, these are as follows:

Measures to take in emergencies
Operation of the unit
Measures to take when starting up the unit
Behaviour during malfunctions

4.2.1 Requirements for operating staff
All persons who are entrusted with the operation of
the unit are required to,
follow the basic regulations for safety at work
and accident prevention,
have read and understood the Operation Manual,
follow the instructions given in this manual.
4.2.2 Environmental protection
Dispose of used items and materials and in the
correct manner.
Sorting materials for disposal into suitable cate-
gories makes it easier to recycle them.
It is absolutely essential that the desiccant cartrid-
ges and the filter elements are disposed of in the
correct manner.
Disposal will be arranged by Donaldson Ultrafil-
ter after-sales service.

4.2.3 Garantía y responsabilidad
Queda excluida cualquier reclamación de garantía o
responsabilidad cuando se debe a una o varias de las
siguientes causas:
el uso indebido del equipo
montaje, puesta en servicio, manipulación o man-
tenimiento incorrectos del equipo
funcionamiento del equipo cuando existía un
defecto demostrable
no observación de las indicaciones del manual de
funcionamiento sobre transporte, almacena-
miento, montaje, puesta en servicio y manteni-
miento
modificaciones constructivas no autorizadas del
equipo
control deficiente de componentes del equipo
sometidos a un desgaste
eparaciones realizadas de forma inadecuada
empleo de piezas no originales.
4.2.3 Warranty and liability
Claims for warranty and liability concerning personal
injury or material damage are excluded if they were
caused by one or more of the following factors:
Inappropriate use or application of the unit.
Technically incorrect installation, startup, opera-
tion and maintenance of the unit.
Operation of the unit when a defect demonstrably
existed.
Failure to observe the information given in the
Operation Manual concerning transport, storage,
installation, startup and maintenance.
Undertaking constructional modifications on the
unit on one’s own initiative.
Inadequate monitoring of parts of the unit that are
subject to wear.
Repairs not being carried out properly.
Using non-original parts.

Unidad de adsorbedor
La unidad de adsorbedor contiene los recipientes de
adsorbedor compuestos por perfil extruido de
aluminio resistente a la presión, con la cantidad
correspondiente de cartuchos de desecante. El cierre
superior y el inferior tiene lugar mediante las dos
tapas del adsorbedor de un compuesto de vidrio-
plástico de alta calidad. La conexión entre los
recipientes de adsorbedor y las tapas de adsorbedor
tiene lugar con tornillos de acero inoxidable, una
junta de perfil se encarga de la obturación.
Cartucho de desecante
Los cartuchos de desecante contienen el desecante
especialmente desarrollado para el secado de aire
comprimido y nitrógeno. Se encuentra en un tubo de
aluminio provisto en ambos extremos de un soporte
permeable al aire. Según el tamaño varía la cantidad
de cartuchos de desecante. Los diferentes cartuchos
por recipiente se enroscan por medio de tirantes uno
contra el otro.
Filtro previo y posterior
Los filtros se componen del elemento de filtro, el
tubo de filtro, la brida de filtro y la tapa de filtro.
Los elementos de filtro están atornillados en las dos
bridas de filtro.
Filtro previo
La filtración previa del medio a secar tiene lugar
mediante el microfiltro Ultrair MF de alto
rendimiento.
El aceite, el agua y las partículas de suciedad llegan a
la tela de microfibra, en la que son retenidas hasta en
un 99,99998% las partículas de suciedad mayores de
0,01 μm.
La tela de microfibra está rodeada de una camisa de
filtro de coalescencia siendo atravesada por el flujo
desde dentro hacia afuera. En este filtro de
coalescencia se concentran los aerosoles y neblinas
líquidos en gotas grandes, llegan por la fuerza de
gravedad a la parte inferior de la carcasa del filtro y
son eliminados del sistema mediante un descargador
de condensados.
El contenido de aceite residual se encuentra detrás de
esta etapa de filtro por debajo de 0,03 ppm con una
concentración máxima de entrada de 3 ppm.

Adsorber unit
The adsorber unit contains the pressure resistant
adsorption vessel made of extrudet aluminium
profiles as well as the desiccant cartridges. The upper
and lower enclosure is done by covers made of
polyamid-glass fibre compound. The connection
between adsorption vessels and and covers is done by
stainless steel screws, a profile gasket is tightening
the components.
Desiccant cartridge
The desiccant catridges contain the drying agent,
which has been developped for the drying of
compressed air and nitrogen. It is located in an
aluminium tube that has a holder permeable to air at
both ends. The amount of cartridges varies with the
dryer size. The individual cartridges are screwed up
against each other by means of tie rods.
Filter
The filters consist of filter element, filter tube, filter
flange and filter lid.
The filter elements are screwconnected to the filter
flanges.
Prefilter
Prefiltration of the medium to be dried is done by the
high-performance Ultrair MF micro-filter.
Oil, water and dirt particles are trapped in the micro-
fibre mat which retains up to 99.99998% of dirt
particles larger than 0.01 μm.
The micro-fibre mat is surrounded by a coalescence
filter sheath and the flow is from the inside to the
outside. Liquid aerosols and mists are aggregated into
bigger droplets in this coalescence filter, fall to the
lower part of the filter casing by gravity, and are then
removed from the system via a condensate discharge
line.
The residual oil content after this filter stage is less
than 0,03 ppm for a maximum input concentration of
3 ppm.

Filtro posterior
El filtro de polvo Ultrapoly PE postconectado limpia el
aire comprimido de polvos finísimos de hasta un tamaño
de partícula de > 25 μm.
El flujo que atraviesa el elemento de filtro tiene lugar
desde fuera hacia adentro ya que de esta forma se
obtiene una superficie filtrante de mayor efecto y
adicionalmente se simplifica la limpieza del
elemento de filtro.
Bloque de mando
El bloque de mando comprende el mando electrónico
junto con 3 válvulas magnéticas y 2 sensores
"Economizer” para el filtro previo y posterior. El
mando es abastecido con tensión por una conexión a
la red que conduce al bloque de mando a través de
una atornilladura PG9. El mando señaliza los estados
de servicio mediante tres indicadores LED y un
display LCD. Para la comunicación a través del
"Canal de información” existe un conector tipo
Hirschmann en la parte inferior del bloque de mando.
La carcasa del bloque de mando es de material
sintético y en su lado estrecho está cerrada con una
tapa. Tipo de protección IP 42.
Todo el frente del bloque de mando está cubierto con
un panel protegido por una lámina que aloja los tres
indicadores LED, el display LCD y un botón para
desarrollar el menú.
Los indicadores de LED son:
LED 1 (verde) listo para el servicio
LED 2 (amarillo) service
LED 3 (rojo) fallo
Display con botón de menú
El display LCD tiene 2 líneas con 16 caracteres cada
una. Con el botón de menú se puede avanzar en el
menú en una dirección. El botón de menú no permite
efectuar entradas. Para ello existe el botón de acuse
de recibo.
Botón de acuse de recibo
El botón de acuse de recibo se enchufa, en caso de
necesidad, en el enchufe tipo Hirschmann y sirve
para el acuse de recibo y para la entrada de datos
cuando lo solicite el display.
Afterfilter
The Ultrapoly PE dust filter located after the unit cle-
ans fine dust from the compressed air for a particle
size of > 25 μm.
The flow through the filter elements is from the out-
side to the inside, which produces a greater effective
filtration surface and also simplifies cleaning of the
filter element.
Control unit
The control unit contains the electronic controller, 3
solenoid valves and 2 Economizer transducers for the
pre-filter and after-filter. The control circuits are sup-
plied with power from the mains supply and the con-
nection is made via a screwed PG9 fitting leading to
the control unit. The control circuitry also provides a
monitoring facility by means of 3 LED indicators
and a LCD display. For external communications via
the “Information Channel” and for programming
purposes there is a Hirschmann type plug located
underneath the control unit.
The housing of the control unit is made of glass-fiber
enforced polyamide and is provided with a cover on
its narrow side. The protection class is IP 42.
The entire front of the control unit is covered by a
panel protected by a foil under which the 3 LED indi-
cators, the LCD display and one button for the menu
scrolling function are located.
Functions of the LED indicators:
LED 1 (green) ready for operation
LED 2 (yellow) service
LED 3 (red) fault condition
Display with menu button
The LCD display has two alphanumeric lines with 16
symbols each. By using the menu button, the menu
can be paged through in one direction. No entries can
be made with this button. Therefor is the acknowled-
gement switch.
Acknowledgement switch
If requested, the acknowledgement switch will be
connected to the Hirschmann plug. Its function is to
acknowledge the input of data at display command.

Adsorption sensor
The adsorption sensor is built into the connection
section in front of the compressed-air outlet. The
adsorption sensor measures the instantaneous flow
rate and outlet temperature of the Ultrapac 2000 midi
superplus and calculates from this data the optimum
duration of the adsorption phase.
Regeneration sensor
The regeneration sensor is built into the sound
absorber and can be distinguished by the fact that it
has a different connecting cable. It measures the
regeneration air volume and thus allows the
microprocessor to monitor the functionality of the
Ultrapac 2000 midi superplus. Pressure losses in the
air supply line, in the connections of shuttle valves,
malfunctions in the solenoid valves, wrong selection
or clogging of the overflow orifice and other possible
sources of errors are monitored and immediately
indicated. The indication occurs as soon as the
measured parameter deviates by more than the firm
adjusted tolerance from the set value.
Info channel
The information channel allows for external commu-
nications via a Hirschmann valve socket.
Serial interface
– Single-wire communications interface adapted
to the RS-232 standard.
Settings: 2.400 baud, 1 start bit, 8 data bits,
2 stop bits. The serial interface is required for
programming via the “Programmer“.
Output
Via Menu 2 of the Programmer you can choose, whe-
ther the alarm output is to signal “alarm messages“
and “service messages“ (setting “on“) or just “alarm
messages“ (setting “off“).
Sensor de adsorción
En la parte de conexión se encuentra montado,
delante de la salida de aire comprimido, el sensor de
adsorción. Este mide el flujo momentáneo y la
temperatura de salida de la Ultrapac 2000 midi
superplus y calcula a partir de ello la duración
óptima de la fase de adsorción.
Sensor de regeneración
El sensor de regeneración es idéntico al sensor de
adsorción y está montado en el silenciador. Mide el
volumen de aire de regeneración y hace posible con
ello al procesador el control de la funcionabilidad de
la Ultrapac 2000 midi superplus. La caída de presión
en el abastecimiento de aire comprimido,
agarrotamiento de válvulas de varias vías, no
funcionamiento de válvulas magnéticas, selección
errónea u obstrucción de estranguladores de
sobrecorriente y otros posibles errores son vigilados
y avisados inmediatamente. La indicación tiene lugar
en cuanto que el valor medido difiera del valor de
consigna en más de la tolerancia ajustada de fábrica.
Canal de información
El canal de información hace posible la
comunicación hacia el exterior a través de un
conector de válvula tipo Hirschmann.
Interface serial
– Interface de comunicación unifilar, adaptado a la
norma RS-232.
Ajustes: 2.400 baud, 1 bit de arranque, 8 bits de
datos, 2 bits de parada. El interfaz de serie sirve
principalmente para la programación a través
del equipo de programación "Programmer".
Salida
A través del menú 2 del programador se puede aju-
star, si a través de la salida se transmiten avisos de
avería y avisos de mantenimiento (ajuste "conec-
tado") o simplemente avisos de avería (ajuste
"desconectado").

If there is no air withdrawal via the dryer outlet side,
the dryer can be put into ‘stand-by’ via the input (1 -
GND). This avoids unnecessary consumption of
compressed air.
If the Adsorption Dryer is switched into the “stand-
by” mode via the input, all the valves will close after
finish the regeneration. Any yellow or red LEDs that
may be lit will extinguish and the display will
indicate the message “Switching off”.
When switching the unit back on again via the input,
the dryer will pause for 20 seconds (to allow for an
possible pressure release) and the display will show
the message “Please wait”.
Alarm output and input may be connected and opera-
ted independent from each other.

Si la secadora de adsorción se conecta en "stand-by”
a través de la entrada, se cerrarán todas las válvulas
una vez terminada la regeneración. Los diodos
amarillos o rojos, eventualmente conectados, se
apagan y el display muestra el mensaje
"Desconexión”.
Tras una nueva conexión a través de la entrada, la
secadora espera 20 segundos (eventual estable-
cimiento de presión) y el display muestra el mensaje
"Espere por favor”.
La salida y la entrada pueden conectarse
simultáneamente de manera independiente entre sí.

Descargador de condensados
El descargador de condensados se abre siempre
después de un número de ciclos de adsorción
preestablecidos durante un tiempo preestablecido
(especificación de fábrica 1 segundo).
La frecuencia de conexión del descargador de
condensados depende por tanto de la duración de la
adsorción y se adapta de esta forma a la toma de aire
comprimido de la secadora.
Estos valores, así como el tiempo de descarga de
condensados, pueden modificarse en caso de
necesidad. Les rogamos ponerse en contacto con el
servicio postventa del Donaldson Ultrafilter.
Condensate purge
The condensate purging device will open after a pre-
set number of adsorption cycles for a predefined
period of time (factory settings 1 second). The swit-
ching frequency of the condensate purger is therefore
linked to the duration of the adsorption cycle and
matched to the consumption in compressed-air of the
dryer.
The values and the condensate draining time can be
changed as required. Please contact Donaldson Ultra-
filter after-sales service.

5.2 Funciones
Aquí encontrará una descripción del principio de
funcionamiento así como de las funciones de mando
y de vigilancia de la Ultrapac 2000 midi superplus.
5.2.1 Principio de funcionamiento
La secadora por adsorción con regeneración en frío
Ultrapac 2000 midi superplus trabaja con fases de
adsorción y regeneración alternativas
En los dos recipientes de adsorbedor tiene lugar de
forma alternativa el secado del medio en un
adsorbedor, mientras que el otro adsorbedor es
regenerado. Este procedimiento garantiza un servicio
continuo.
La regeneración del medio de secado cargado de
humedad tiene lugar con una corriente parcial del
aire secado.
Para ello, se descarga la presión del adsorbedor
correspondiente mediante una válvula de membrana
que se encuentra en la unidad multifuncional.
A través de un elemento estrangulador fluye una
corriente parcial de aire secado del adsorbedor que se
encuentra en la fase de secado al adsorbedor a
regenerar y a través del silenciador a la atmósfera.
5.2.2 Funciones de mando
Conexión y desconexión
La secadora se puede conectar o desconectar medi-
ante la conexión o desconexión de la tensión de ali-
mentación y a través de la entrada del canal de
información. Después de la conexión, la secadora
espera 20 segundos sin función (eventual estableci-
miento de presión) y el display muestra el mensaje
"Espere por favor”. El diodo verde 1 señaliza,
después de la conexión, que la secadora está lista
para el servicio. La función "Memo” garantiza que la
secadora continúe en el mismo punto de su ciclo, al
ser conectada, en el que fue interrumpida al ser
desconectada.

5.2 Functions
Here you will find a description of the principle of
function, also the controling and monitoring funk-
tions of the Ultrapac 2000 midi superplus.
5.2.1 Principle of Function
The Heatless-Regenerating Adsorption Dryer Ultra-
pac 2000 midi superplus is working with alternating
adsorption and regeneration phases.
The medium will be alternately dried in one of the
adsorbers while the other adsorber is being
regenerated. This procedure ensures continuous
operation.
Regeneration of the humidity laden desiccant is
effected by means of a partial stream of dried air.
By means of a diaphragm which is located in the
multifunction unit, the corresponding adsorber is
expanded to atmosphere. Via an orifice the partial
stream of air is led from the adsorber which is in
adsorption to the adsorber which is in regeneration
phase and via a silencer to atmosphere.
5.2.2 Control functions
Switching on and off
By applying or interrupting the mains power via the
input of the information channel, the dryer can be
switched on and off. After switching on, the dryer
will remain inactive for 20 seconds (pressurising
phase) and the display will show the message “Please
wait”. The green LED1 signals after switching on
that the dryer is ready for operation. The Memo
function ensures that the dryer continues its opera-
tion at the same point of the cycle in which it had
been switched off.
