Congratulations
DA1280
represents an analogue telephony plug which setup
communication link to a DECT-Base Station. DA1280 can connect
legacy analogue terminals as corded Telephones, Fax, Answering
Machine, Modem or POS terminal via DECT to your IP Access Point.
DA1280 is compatible to all commercially used DECT-GAP-Base
Stations but also to modern DSL-VoIP-Routers, as Speedport from
Deutsche Telekom or Fritzbox, Tipel DSL VoIP Router or Internet Box
from SwissCOM.
Simply connect your analogue
terminal via RJ11 cable to DA1280
RJ11 plug. DA1280 will connect your
terminal via DECT (30meter indoor)
with your access point which
transmits your Call, Fax or Data to
your WAN destination.
All you have to do is to make your DA1280 “acquainted” with your
access point. This is called Registration and is the same procedure you
know from DECT Handsets. This manual will help you.

-3-
Start-Up with Standard DECT Base
1.

2.

(see Manual of DECT Base Station)
3.
press „Registration“ at DECT Base Station
4.

*1)
read pages 8-10 in case PIN of your DECT Base is not „0000“
Hints for PABX and Multicell Systems:
DA1280 has a unique DECT-ID called IPEI. This IPEI you can see on the product label on your
DA1280. It has is a 10-digit Hexadecimal form (HEX). Some DECT Systems (e.g. PABX) request
this PIN in decimal form (DEC).
The conversion HEX (e.g. IPEI 00092268E9) into DEC form is as follows:
convert left-sided 5 HEX digits into decimal (5-digits) e.g. 00092
HEX
in 00146
DEZ
convert residual 5 HEX digits into decimal (7-digits) e.g. 268E9
HEX
in 0157929
DEZ
IPEI 00092268E9 (HEX) is converted into 001460157929 (DEC)

connect analogue terminal
Use wall-plugs for DA1280 with
LEDs on top. Please take care
that RJ11 cable does not exceed
3 meters. Connect your
analogue terminal with RJ11
cable to DA1280. In Germany in most cases a standard TAE adapter
is necessary. You can immediately use your analogue terminal with
DA1280 ex-works-setup. See pages 8-10 if you need to adjust the
ex-works configuration.
