3. Precautions for use
When using an electrical device, basic safety precautions should always be followed. Please note the
following non-exhaustive list:
• Always be vigilant. Pay attention to avoid risk of burns – Be careful to not to get asphyxiated - Do
not use the barbecue in closed rooms.
• Do not use gasoline or alcohol to ignite or re-ignite the barbecue. Keep children and pets away
from the barbecue. Only use a bio-lighter gel in accordance with European standards for the use
of fire-lighting products (EN 1860-3).
• Wait until the barbecue has completely cooled before cleaning. Never spray water to extinguish
the charcoal. When using the barbecue, always use a barbecue tong. Never leave the barbecue still
hot/burning unattended.
•To dispose of your used charcoal, use only specially designed containers made of metal or non-
flammable materials. Do not place used charcoal in plastic or flammable containers.

Notification
This barbecue is designed to prepare charcoal grilled meats. This device must not be used in
closed spaces. The instructions in this manual must be followed strictly. Fat residues from the
manufacture of the barbecue may have accumulated on the metal bracket of the charcoal tank
and may give off a light smoke. This phenomenon will disappear after the first use.

6. Mounting the device
1. Open the battery compartment on the underside of the device (9). Insert 4 AA batteries (not
supplied). Pay attention to polarity, then close the compartment.
2. Place the inner tank (6) in the outer tank (7).
3. Fill approximately 250 g of charcoal in the charcoal tank (4) and place the cover (3) on the
tank.
4. Pour lighter gel in the centre of the ignition plate (5) and place the ignition plate at the bottom
of the inner tank (6).
Reminder
Only use a bio-lighter gel in accordance with European standards for the use of fire-lighting
products (EN 1860-3).
5. Turn the switch (8) to the right to start the ventilation. It is recommended to set it to the
maximum to facilitate the catching of the fire.
6 Keep the lighted match in contact with the gel until the gel ignites.
7. Place the previously filled charcoal tank and its cover on the tank
containing the ignition plate (5).
Caution
Take precautions when removing the charcoal tank from the ignition plate. The charcoal
becomes hot and incandescent in a few minutes. Never put your hand close to the flame.
8. Then place the cooking rack (1) on the inner tank. Check that the rack brackets are positioned
correctly on the outside tank. Your barbecue e.zichef® is now ready to use.

7. Cooking capacity
The cooking area of the e.zichef barbecue is 40 cm in diameter. It can accommodate about 8
steaks, 16 sausages or merguez sausage or up to 20 chicken wings.
8. Maintenance tips
Important
Before cleaning the barbecue, wait until it has completely cooled. Never use water to cool the
hot/burning barbecue. Doing so may cause burns or scalding.
The barbecue and inner tank can be dishwasher-cleaned or hand-washed with conventional
dishwashing liquid. Never use acid, mineral spirits or other flammable agents for cleaning.
Use a damp cloth or a brush to clean the outer tank, which contains the electrical unit. We
recommend that you remove the batteries from the compartment if the barbecue is not in use for a
long time.

- Limited Warranty -
NOTE: This Limited Warranty does not affect your rights under the Consumer Products Sales Act.
E.ZICOM products are eligible for the applicable legal guarantee, i.e. 1 to 2 years depending on the marketed products.
Batteries, having a limited lifespan, are considered to be a consumable. Accordingly, they are covered by a 6-month warranty
as well as accessories.
The duration of the manufacturer warranty for some of our products may occasionally be modified when sold on so-called
non-traditional distribution networks. In this case, customers acquiring a product from E.ZICOM are clearly warned of this on
the product presentation page presented on the retailer’s site. Information on the contents of the product, its packaging or
any user manual may be altered.
In all cases, E.ZICOM may not be held liable for any non-compliance with regulatory or legal provisions in force in t he
destination country; E.ZICOM’s liability is systematically limited to the value of the product in question, the value on its sale
date, without the possibility of any claim against the brand or producer of the product. In any event, the customer benefit s
from the legal guarantee of peaceful possession and hidden defects (art. 1625 et seq of the Civil Code). Provided that the
purchaser proves the hidden defect, the seller must legally repair all the impacts (art. 1641 et seq. of the Civil Code); In
order to know the steps to be taken regarding after-sales service for any problem or breakdown on a product, the customer
can contact the customer service by mail using the contact form (a reply as soon as possible will be provided by E.ZICOM).
You must preserve the original packaging of purchased articles during the warranty period. To benefit from the product
warranty, you must necessarily keep the product’s purchase invoice.
Warranties do not cover:
• The replacement of consumables (batteries, filters, brushes, virtual wall, power supply, charging station, perimeter
cable...),
• Abnormal or non-compliant use of products. The customer is invited in this respect to carefully read the instructions
provided with products,
• Failures related to accessories (power cables...),
• Defects and their consequences linked to the intervention of a repairer not approved by E.ZICOM,
• Defects and their consequences linked to usage that does not comply with the product’s intended purpose
(professional use, collective use...),
• Defects and their consequences linked to any external cause.
In case of a breakdown not covered by the guarantee, or the sending of an After Sales Service claim with missing
administrative documents, a quote of €99.00 incl. VAT shall be sent to the customer. If it is refused, the device shall be
returned after receipt of the signed copy of the refused quote, and a payment of €32.00 including VAT for administrative
expenses, storage and return of the product.

2. Registreer uw product

3. Voorzorgsmaatregelen bij gebruik
Wanneer u een elektrisch apparaat gebruikt, moet u altijd een aantal elementaire
voorzorgsmaatregelen in acht nemen. Lees de volgende, niet-volledige lijst goed door:
•Wees altijd waakzaam. Pas op voor brandwonden - Pas op voor verstikking - Gebruik de barbecue
niet in afgesloten ruimtes.
•Gebruik geen benzine of brandspiritus om de barbecue aan te steken of opnieuw aan te steken.
Houd kinderen en huisdieren uit de buurt van de barbecue. Gebruik alleen biologische
aanmaakgel die voldoet aan de Europese norm voor het gebruik van aanmaakhulpmiddelen (EN
1860-3).
•Wacht totdat de barbecue volledig is afgekoeld voordat u deze schoonmaakt. Gebruik nooit water
om de houtskool te doven. Gebruik altijd een barbecuetang wanneer u met de barbecue werkt. Laat
de barbecue nooit zonder toezicht wanneer deze nog warm/heet is.
• Gooi gebruikte houtskool alleen weg in speciaal voor dat doel bestemde bakken die gemaakt zijn
van metaal of onbrandbaar materiaal. Gooi gebruikte houtskool niet weg in plastic bakken of bakken
van brandbaar materiaal.
