USER MANUAL
The BAIO (acronym for Box All In One) is a handy portable multifunctional
small pedal, suitable for both guitars and basses.
Main Features:
∙ 9 preamp types with tone and gain controls.
∙ 8 IRs (Impulse Response) for as many amplifiers, selected and adapted to
the BAIO by Massimo Varini and made by ChopTones.com (leading Italian
company for IR and profiles).
∙ 2 Modulation Effects (Chorus & Phase Shift).
∙ 1 Reverb Effect.
∙ 1 adjustable Delay (Tape) - amount, Delay Time, and Feedback.
∙ Live / Preset function (3 storable presets).
∙ Built-in tuner with Mute function.
BAIO features intriguing additional functions:
∙ It works with rechargeable batteries (built-in - about 6 hours of continuous
use). Simply recharge the pedal via USB. Designed to simultaneously
operate and recharge.
∙ It works as an audio interface when connected to a computer via USB.
∙ It works as an audio interface when connected to a smartphone.
∙ Bluetooth function (input) allows you to play backing tracks from any BT
device;
∙ The input signal from the BT is routed to the audio outputs and mixes
through the device volume, adjusting it according to the BAIO output
volume.
∙ You can easily load other IRs via software.

Turn the power on; the pedal turns on in PRESET mode.
Press buttons 2 and 3 simultaneously to switch to LIVE mode.
Press buttons 1 and 3 to activate the IR / REV and PREAMP section (you
will notice the switched-on LEDs on the potentiometers and above the
flashing buttons).
Temporarily disable DELAY and MOD by pressing button 2.
Set the IR knob on any position from 2 to 9 (not on the first one which is
IR OFF).
Adjust the OUTPUT volume to your preferred level (remember that long-term
exposure to high-volume sounds can cause permanent hearing loss).
By turning the PREAMP knob, you can listen to the different sounds,
adjusting TONE and DRIVE as desired.
Adjust the REV parameter with the relative knob, as desired.
Press the button 2 to activate the DELAY / MOD section and adjust it to
your liking.
Once you get a sound you like, press and hold one of the 3 buttons,
which will flash to indicate the preset has been saved.
QUICK START – STEP BY STEP
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

FRONT PANEL
01. PREAMP: This knob selects the preamp type.
02. DRIVE: This knob adjusts the amount of gain and consequently the
distortion.
03. TONE: This control adjusts the tones; turn it right (clockwise) to increase
the amount of treble and reduce the amount of bass; vice versa, turn it
left (countercklockwise) to reduce treble and increase bass;
04. MOD: In center position it turns off the LED and Modulations; turn it
left (counterclockwise) to adjust the amount of Chorus; turn it right
(clockwise) to adjust the amount of Phase Shift (Phaser).
05. DELAY: It adjusts the Delay Time (turning it clockwise makes Delay
Time slower).
06. FB / FEEDBACK: It adjusts the amount of repetitions.
07. MIX: It adjusts the amount of Delay.
08. REV / REVERB: It adjusts the amount of the Reverb effect.
09. IR / IMPULSE RESPONSE: It selects the IR type, as if you were
changing the speaker (cabinet) and its microphone.
10. OUT: It adjusts the output volume.
11. BT: It indicates whether the Bluetooth is ON or OFF (holding down
buttons 1 and 2 turns it ON / OFF).
12. BATTERY – When connected to the USB, it indicates whether the
battery is being recharged.

COMBINATION OF BUTTONS
SIDE / REAR PANEL
Pressing buttons 1+2 for a long time will activate the Bluetooth Mode.
Briefly pressing buttons 2+3 will switch between LIVE and PRESET Mode.
Pressing buttons 2+3 for a long time will activate the TUNER function (Mute).
13. 14. 15: SWITCHES (buttons) - They are used for changing presets
(PRESET mode is activated alternatively to LIVE mode by briefly pressing
buttons 2 and 3) and to activate the 3 sections: IR / REV, DELAY / MOD,
PREAMP; to activate Bluetooth: press and hold buttons 1 and 2; to
activate TUNER function: press and hold buttons 2 and 3.
16. LEDs – These LEDs indicate the BAIO different states: in PRESET mode,
they indicate the selected preset (1, 2, or 3); in LIVE mode they indicate
the current activated sections (the LEDs above the potentiometers are
also activated).
01. IN: Standard ¼” TS Jack Input.
02. ON/OFF: Turn the pedal ON/OFF (regardless of the charging mode).
03. USB: Through this port you can recharge the built-in battery, power
the pedal and connect to the computer for use as a sound card or
software loading of new IRs.
04. PHONE: Connecting this input to a smartphone with a dedicated
cable, the BAIO works as an audio input device (sound card for
compatible smartphones).
05. HEADPHONES: Headphones output (the signal from Bluetooth-con-
nected devices is routed here together with the pedal output).
06. OUT: Audio output (the signal from Bluetooth-connected devices is
routed here together with the pedal output).

PREAMP SECTION
The PREAMP knob allows you to select the follow preamp IR:
The DRIVE control adjusts the distortion (it affects the volume), the TONE
control adjusts the EQ response.
IR SECTION
In this section, which can be activated by pressing button 1 (REV is also
activated, but you can deactivate it setting the potentiometer to zero),
you can use the IRs specifically created for BAIO by ChopTones.com.
These IRs are selected and adapted by Massimo Varini.
Setting the potentiometer to zero (fully anticlockwise), the IRs are
DISABLED and BAIO can be used for acoustic or bass guitars or to route
the signal to a guitar amplifier input.

TUNER
Press and hold buttons 2 and 3 to activate the Tuner function: the audio
output is muted, and all the LEDs will turn off. Now the indications move to
the writing above the potentiometers. According to the selected note (E,
A, D, G, B, E) the LED of the potentiometer corresponding to the string will
light up.
The first 3 pots / LEDs from the right will light up in this way:
PREAMP LED On: the note is sharp and the string must therefore be
loosened.
TONE LED On: the note is flat and therefore the string must be tensed
more.
DRIVE LED On: the note is perfectly in tune.
