For optimum performance and safety, please read these
instructions carefully before connecting, operating or adjusting
this product. Please keep this manual for future reference.
SURGE PROTECTION DEVICE RECOMMENDED
This product contains sensitive electrical components that may
be damaged by electrical spikes, surges, electric shock, lightning
strikes, etc. Use of surge protection systems is highly
recommended in order to protect and extend the life
of your equipment.
SAFETY AND PERFORMANCE NOTICE
EIA/TIA-568-B termination (T568B) of cables is recommended
for optimal performance.
To minimize interference of the unshielded twisted pairs in the
CAT5e/6 cable do not run the HDBaseT/Cat5e/6/6a cabling with
or in close parallel proximity to mains power cables.
Do not substitute or use any other power supply other than the
enclosed unit, or a ELAN approved replacement.
Do not disassemble the unit for any reason. Doing so will void
the manufacturer’s warranty.

IMPORTANT
Setting up your thermostat with an ELAN Controller
If you are installing an ELAN Thermostat with an
ELAN Controller, please refer to the “ELAN Thermostat”
Integration Note for Wi-Fi setup and software
configuration. ELAN Integration Notes are served
through the ELAN tools and on elanhomesystems.com/
dealer-resources.
If you are planning to install the ELAN Thermostats
when an ELAN controller is not present, please follow
the instructions below.
STEP 1
Verify the thermostat is in
Wi-Fi Connection Mode.
The thermostat by default will be in Wi-Fi Connection
Mode. To confirm that the thermostat is in Wi-Fi
Connection Mode, verify that the radio bars on the
thermostat are strobing as shown below.
Note: If the thermostat is not in Wi-Fi Connection Mode,
refer to the Owner’s manual for instructions on clearing
the Wi-Fi settings.
If you are not connecting your thermostat to a control system and plan to only control the unit from its touchpanel,
you do not need to enable WiFi.
To connect the EL-TSTAT-8810 thermostat to a Wi-Fi network follow the steps below.
Note: You will need a computer or mobile device with Wi-Fi and a web browser.

STEP 2
Connect to the thermostat using
a computer or mobile device.
On your computer or mobile device, scan for
available networks. The thermostat should appear as
ELANSTAT8810XXXX followed by a unique identifier,
corresponding to the last 4 digits of the MAC address.
Connect to the thermostat you want to configure.
If you are installing multiple thermostats, you can
determine the MAC address of the specific thermostat
you are trying to configure by removing the cover on the
front of the thermostat to access the MAC address label.
Open a web browser on your computer or mobile device.
In the browser enter:
http://192.168.1.99/elan.html
In the web browser interface select the network you
want to connect the thermostat to, and enter the
network’s security credentials
STEP 3
Verify the thermostat is connected
to the Wi-Fi network.
Once all the required information is entered in the
web browser interface, the thermostat will connect to
the Wi-Fi network you selected. After the thermostat
is connected to the Wi-Fi network, the thermostat
will display the radio bars based on the Wi-Fi signal
strength. If the radio bars are not displaying the signal
strength, refer to Wi-Fi Maintenance and Troubleshooting
in the Owner’s manual.

AUTO: Thermostat automatically selects heating or cooling depending
on the indoor temperature. “Auto” mode is not supported when
interfacing with an ELAN controller.
OFF: Heating and cooling systems are off.
HEAT: Thermostat controls only the heating system.
COOL: Thermostat controls only the cooling system.
EM-HEAT: Thermostat controls emergency/auxiliary heat.
Heat pump will not operate. (Only for heat pumps with auxiliary heat.)

In AUTO use to switch between
the HEAT and COOL setting.

When connected to an ELAN controller, it is recommended that you use the scheduling functions within
ELAN to control the thermostats. If you are installing thermostats outside of an ELAN environment, you can
use the programming functions described below.

Press to select:
ON-24/7: This option will provide the maximum amount
of air cleaning available. The air cleaner will be active for
24 hours a day seven days a week.
AUTO: Air cleaning will not occur for the sole purpose
of air cleaning, but will occur during fan operation for
heating and cooling.
CIRC-30/HR: The air cleaner will run a minimum of
30 minutes every hour. The air cleaner will monitor
the amount of time your heating and cooling system
runs; if 30 minutes is not reached the air cleaner will
automatically turn on. This will maximize the amount of
air cleaning while minimizing energy consumption.
EVENT-3HR: When selected, the air cleaner will run
continuously and then return to the most recent mode of
AUTO, CIRC-30/HR, or ON-24/7. Use this option when
the air needs cleaning; an example would be while
vacuuming.
ALLERGY-24HR: When seasonal allergies spike and
outside air quality is at its worst, choose this option.
Your air cleaner will run continuously for 24 hours
and then return to the most recent mode of AUTO,
CIRC-30/HR, or ON-24/7.
RESET SERVICE REMINDER MESSAGES
Press and hold and together for three
seconds to reset a service reminder message.

2. Press or to adjust the hour.
3. Press , the minutes flash. Press or
to adjust the minutes.
4. Press , the day flashes. Press or
to adjust day.
5. Press to end. “DONE” will display.
The thermostat will return to normal mode if no key is
pressed within 3 seconds.
SET TIME AND DAY
1. Press to enter time setting mode.
The hour is flashing.
UNDERSTANDING PROGRAM SCHEDULES
The daily schedule is split into four sections:
WAKE: 6am-8am – Temperature you would prefer to
wake up to, until you leave for the day.
LEAVE: 8am-5pm – Temperature when you are away
from the house during the day.
RETURN: 5pm-10pm – Temperature you would prefer to
return to, until bedtime.
SLEEP: 10pm-6am – Temperature you would prefer
during the night.
The times shown are the defaults. The start time and
temperature of each section can be changed to fit your
schedule (see page 11).
Note: If configured to do so, the home automation
system can send periodic time updates to the
thermostat. If the thermostat is configured to be
used with an ELAN account the thermostat’s time
and date will be updated periodically, and will update
automatically for daylight savings.

The Progressive Recovery feature allows the thermostat
to activate the heating and cooling equipment prior to an
event in order to reach the desired temperature at the
start of the next scheduled event.
Example:
Set the WAKE time to 6 am, and the heat setpoint
to 70°F. The heat will come on before 6 am, so the
temperature is 70°F by the time you wake at 6 am.
