512 channel DMX recorder playback

miniSTORE
The miniSTORE is a smaller and simpler version of the
showSTORE, using solid state non volatile memory for
storage. The ministore is limited in memory capacity. Therefor
a compression is used during recoding. The intended
application of the product is to record and playback a single
small show with a few fixtures, scanners or moving heads for
shop windows, product displays etc.
Setup
On the back panel there are 4 dip switches with the following
preset functions:
Dipswitch 1 and 2 are used for setting number of channels and
the framerate:

A show with 12 moving lights with constant fading on 16-bit
pan/tilt, CMY and dimmer will record up to 6 minutes (@
40fps).
A show with just a few changes might record up to hours.
Dipswitch 3 and 4 are used for setting the mode of operation
according to the table below
3 4 Function:
↑↑Normal record/play mode
↓↑Play only mode, recording inhibited
↑↓Contact play, no front panel control
↓↓Start up in LOOP, no front panel control
Operation
The user interface consists of 4 illuminated momentary
pushbuttons, located on the front panel.
They are labeled: REC, STOP, PLAY and LOOP.
REC STOP PLAY LOOP
Record
Puts the device in RECORD READY, waiting for a DMX
change to start recording. This state is indicated by blinking of
the RECORD led. Depressing STOP will cancel the RECORD
READY status.
Pressing RECORD the second time before a DMX change
starts recording anyhow. The RECORDING status is shown by
full illumination of the RECORD led.
Depressing STOP will give a RECORD PAUSE condition,
indicated by an illuminated RECORD led and a blinking STOP
led. From here on one can go on with recording via RECORD,
again waiting for a DMX change or depressing RECORD
again or stop by pressing STOP for the second time.
The DMX signal to be recorded has to be applied to the DMX
IN connector. In RECORD READY and RECORD this signal is
looped through to the DMX OUT connector without
termination. In all other states the input signal is terminated.
Play
Starts playing the show, indicated by illuminating the LED in
the PLAY button. At the end, the unit comes in STOP.
Stop
Using this button the first time in RECORD status puts the unit
in PAUSE, a second push in STOP. In PLAY and LOOP the
playback halts, leaving the DMX signal as it was at the
moment of STOP.
Loop
Plays the show in repeat, starting again after finishing. The
STOP function is as in PLAY. From PLAY one can change
over to LOOP by depressing the LOOP button and back to
PLAY again via PLAY. In this case the show will play till the
end and stop then.
Record Inhibit (Play Only)
To protect the unit from re-recording a file by non qualified
people the miniSTORE can be set to a safe mode via the dip
switches at the back: 3 to ↓and 4 to ↑. In this case only the
PLAY, LOOP and STOP buttons are available.
Control by external contact closure
Instead of using the buttons at the front the miniSTORE can
also be put into PLAY by an external contact. This setting can
be made via the dip switches: 3 to ↑and 4 to ↓. In this mode
the front panel controls are inactive, so only change over to
this mode in a STOP status. An external switch has to be
connected to the DMX IN XLR between pins 2 and 1 or 3 and
1. Closing this contact momentary puts the miniSTORE in
PLAY, indicated by the PLAY led. The show plays till the end
and comes in STOP.
Automatic Play/Loop
To have the miniSTORE constantly playing the show in LOOP
after power on, dip switches 3 and 4 have to be set: 3 to ↓and
4 to ↓. Now the show is repeated as long as the unit is
switched on and the front panel controls are not active.

CE – Product
The miniSTORE permits to the CE requirements set-up by the
European Community. This can be recognized by this label on
the outside of the product.

DMX INPUT: XLR 5 pin male, optional 3 pin.
DMX OUTPUT: XLR 5 pin female, optional 3 pin
Termination: 120 Ohm in all modes except RECORD and
RECORD READY when the input is looped

Battery: NiMH battery 70 mAh with trickle charge. Hold
time > 120 days

is internal on the PCB.
No fuses, protection is done via a PTC
resistor.
