Special information concerning the
induction wok
Electromagnetic fields are produced when using
induction cooking appliances. Comply therefore with
the following instructions:
• Scientific investigations have indicated that no
influencing or endangering of patients with
implanted heart pacemakers is normally to be
anticipated through induction cooking appliances.
In spite of this, please consult a physician to put
your mind at rest.
• However, you should maintain a distance of 30 cm
between the upper part of the body and the appli-
ance!
• Electromagnetic fields can influence electronic
switching circuits and interfere with portable radio
receivers.
• When using the appliance do not place magneti-
cally chargeable objects (e.g. credit cards, phone
cards, cassettes etc.) in the glass-ceramic
cuvette.
• Do not place any metal objects (e.g. cutlery, metal
plates or dishes, food cans, jar lids etc.) in the
glass-ceramic cuvette as these can heat up during
operation under some circumstances.
• During operation, objects worn by the user such
as rings, watches etc. can under certain circum-
stances become hot when held too close to the
glass-ceramic cuvette.
Safety when cleaning
• For electrical safety reasons, cleaning the appli-
ance with a steam-jet, high-pressure or steam
cleaning device is forbidden.
How to avoid damage to the
appliance
• The glass-ceramic cooking surface (cuvette) is not
susceptible to thermal shocks and is very strong,
though not unbreakable. It can suffer damage in
particular from sharp and hard objects falling on to
the glass-ceramic cooking surface (cuvette).
• If sugar or a preparation with sugar should fall on
to the hot glass-ceramic cuvette and melts,
remove it at once using a wooden scraper. If the
mass is allowed to cool, the surface may be dam-
aged when attempts are made to remove it.
• Keep all meltable objects and materials away from
the glass-ceramic cuvette (e.g. plastics, alumin-
ium foils or oven foils). If any of these should melt
on, they must be removed at once using a wooden
scraper.
• Never operate the appliance with empty cooking
vessels. Avoid cooking with the wok pan empty.
This can damage the base of the wok pan and the
glass-ceramic cooking surface (cuvette).
